"Yesterday (01/23/2012), I ordered a new printer (HP Deskjet 3050 All-In-One) from Calhoun Technologies. Their website boldly proclaims: Availability 25+. Really!? Today (01/24/2012) I'm notified through PayPal that I will be refunded my purchase price. The Reason?: "I regret to inform you that our web site is not real time and we are currently out of stock regarding the part you ordered online. At this time, I will not be able to process this order. Your PayPal account will be fully refunded, This refund may take a few days to reflect on your PayPal account. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, and encourage you to keep Calhoun Technologies in mind as your IT parts supplier. Please let me know if there is anything else you are looking for, as I would be glad to help you out!" But...the website as of this review is still showing 25+ of these printers available. The only reason I chose this particular site was that they had, by far, the lowest price for this new printer. Did they actually have any printers to begin with? I called Calhoun and talked to "Charles" who kind of apologized, but when asked if they actually had 25+ of these printers, paused and said sure but they're all gone now. Well you can believe Charles, but I don't. I wonder how many of the 5 star ratings for Calhoun are really legit? Maybe Calhoun does a good job with hard to procure parts although most of the reviews are extremely generic & non-specific as to items ordered. If it is parts you are selling, stick to parts. Don't offer new printers or other new items you can't deliver. For actual honest reviews I'd pay more attention to buzzshepp, Shopper5003, Paultrs, DCSJG, whatsleftofyou, Kalyanam & Skibrianski. If I could leave a 0 or - rating it would be more appropriate!"

"After my horrible experience with Buy.com, Calhoun Tech helped me out and truly saved my business. I would highly recommend Calhoun when you need server hard drives."

"This company sucks! I ordered product on the 4th, asked repeatedly if it was in stock and would ship immediately. On the 7th I received an invoice with a fraudulent tracking number on it and was told again that it would ship. On the 14th, my product still has not shipped. I would have been able to work with this company if they had been honest and upfront, but they seem only intent to make a sale and then delay delivery of the product. "

"Has all the elements of what I hate about websites. Says free shipping in a Google search. Paypal them $ and then they want $12 shipping. Next day they say they are all out of product although website says 25+ units. They do refund $ quickly."

"I bought a refurb color printer 9-12. When I got it I installed the toner cartridges that came with it "by accident", and the printer did not work. 10.92.00 Cartridges Not Engaged error. The reason I bought this old printer is that I have one that has lasted 8-10 years with no problem. I tried the toner cartridges that were in my old printer and got the same error. I called Eric Lovre and got an RGA to send it back, after explaining to him that I tried a total of 3 sets of cartridges and tried the "fix" found by googling the error code. He told me the cartridges that were sent with the first printer would need to be returned as they were sent by mistake and they were the only ones they had to test with the printer I was sending back. He said he would send someone by to pick them up. A week later after looking at the box of toner I had set out like Eric had asked, I called him and offered to ship the toner back to him. No his guy would be by to pick it up. Did you send out a replacement printer yet? I asked and he said no he had to test the printer to determine if a refund would be given. Ok I said I need a printer so bill me for another one and ship it to me, then credit me later. I got the 2nd printer. It had a broken door so tray 1 doesnt work properly. It took another 2 weeks for his guy to pick up the toner, I still have not gotten a credit on the first printer. Todays date is 11-09 so 2 months 6 e-mails at least 6 calls later I have paid for 2 printers have in hand one that is broke
and no credit in sight on the one I sent back with an RGA.
Oh by the way I had to ask at least 3 times for an Invoice as none came with the shipment and none came my email. "

"In my job, I am often faced with a problem that requires a part that is no longer available from the manufacturer. The latest issue led me to Calhoun Technologies. I have purchased parts from them in the past and have had no problems with them. I will most likely use them in the future as need arises."
