"Ordered equipment for my son’s graduation from the police academy. Only half the order was shipped. Inquiries to customer service were made by telephone (voice mail left) and the “leave a message” contact option on their website. Neither inquiry received a response. Remainder of the order is still pending after graduation. Company is unreliable. Will never deal with them again. "

"Ordered over $300 in supplies from these guys on NOVEMBER 29th, as Christmas presents. Everything listed as 'in stock' on the website. On December 8th, NINE DAYS after placing the order and having heard NOTHING from these guys, I sent an email to inquire what was up. The seller responded that 1/2 the order was out of stock with no clear availability date, and asking if I wanted to split ship the order, so the in stock items (what a surprise they had any by now) could ship. I told the company, YES, these are Christmas presents. Please ship. On December 10th I received a shipping notice from them. Nice. Then the real problems started. Using the tracking number they provided, I noticed that the item was not moving. A label had been printed, and an origin logical scan was recorded, but no UPS physical scan to show the item was actually on the way. I waited. And waited. I put a UPS trace on the item on December 17th, as there was still no sign of the package actually existing. I contacted the seller by email and phone. They stated it would arrive by Saturday. I asked about the other items and was told that there was no way to know when they would ship out. I had to file a Paypal claim to get resolution. I am extremely disappointed in Chief's customer service. If you plan to order from them, you will have to call and speak to a person who will have to go and put their hands on the item to be sure it is there, and then you will have to pay extra for reliable shipping. Keep that firmly in mind before you order from them. And if you are ordering gear on any kind of deadline, forget about using them."

"Absolutely terrible customer service! Do not order from this company! I ordered and my confirmation email said 5-10 days. After15 days i emailed and received an automated response stating I'd be contacted in 48 hours. After a week, I called and was on hold for 30 minutes before talking to a service rep. She informed that my items were on back order and she would get right back to me after checking on them. Another week passes, nothing . I published a poor review on yelp and suddenly my items are on the way... Never again!"
"Hopefully everything is in stock. I bought three pairs of pants through the "Buy 2 Pairs, Get 1 Free" Christmas promotion. Instead of giving you just one free, they discount all items by 33.33%. This is fine unless any of the items are out of stock. Once they returned to stock over a month later, Chief fulfilled the order but instead charged full price for the product since the payment method is not charged until the product ships. I emailed Chief Supply 3 times while waiting for my product and never received a response."

After a week and still not shipped I emailed them every day to cancel my order with no response I get an email saying I should have seen the boots were not in stock when I ordered that was a lie no were did it say not in stock, if it was out of stock I would have went somewhere else. "I will NEVER order from this company again. When you order from the website it does not advise you if products are out of stock, nor does it provide a message to let you know that processing could take longer before you place the order. Instead, next to each product in your email confirmation you will see "1 on order" and that it will take 5-10 business days. I was told that the "1 on order" terminology was standard and how they process thousands of orders per day, none of its other customers were confused by it. For the audience that it provides service to, you would think that the customer service agents would be more respectful. I still have not received a date that my order is expected to arrive, nor have I received any email updates of the status of my order. Chief orders its products from a different manufacturer. The turn around for updates on orders and the shipment of your order is EXTREMELY slow. If only I had known then what I know now.....Do NOT order from this company.UPDATE: It's November 9th and still have not received an update from the company on the status of my order. I just canceled it. NEVER AGAIN."

"I would not order anything from Chief Supply. I use to order certain supplies from Chief for my department because of our "low bid" requirements. Generally speaking, the shipping time was bad. Items marked as in stock often were not although you are told they are and then days after expected arrival you are told the items are out of stock. My recent purchase was the straw that broke the camel's back. I ordered an item and after six weeks I had not received it. When I sent an email I got a canned form response. After a third communication I am told they sent an email on a certain date requesting addiitional information on the order. I told them I did not receive the email and was basically told that I must have deleted it by mistake. Our email server does not allow for deletion of email that is sent due to state laws on retaining of email for three years to comply with open records requests. I went back through email and there was no email from Chief on the date I was told and after a more extensive search found no email from them in a two week search before or after the date it was supposedly sent. They had placed a "hold" on funds from the credit card that was used to make the purchase the entire time of this debacle. After nearly eight weeks of dealing with these people I cancelled the order. They then tried to charge me a fee for canceling the order because one item was a special order. I told them it was not a valid charge because in fact the item had not been ordered as demonstrated by their own emails. Finally resolved after disputing the charge to the credit card issuer. I recommended to my employer not to use this company for future purchases even though they often are the "low bidder" and was granted authority to bypass their services because we would rather pay a higher price for something and get better customer servce than buy on the cheap and have to deal with poor service and lack of respect. Save yourself the hassle."
"The Chief has the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE on the internet or any merchant I have ever had the chance to shop at. I only had one problem and they immediately resolved it and the problem wasn't their fault. It was the manufacturers fault. I HIGHLY recommend doing business with THE CHIEF. "We typically use GT Distributors or local public safety suppliers. I ran into a tough spot where we purchased a 2011 Dodge Charger that the dealer had new and in stock at a great price. I needed a Gamber & Johnson laptop base plate as the mounting system was being removed from a 2007 Charger. My local suppliers did not have the part in stock. I did an online search based on the part number and Chief’s web page showed the part was in stock and cheaper that my local vendor. I spent some time checking out the web page and was impressed with the cost as well as the promotional discounts. I placed an order for the laptop base and a lightbar bracket. Chief had a web page special that said I would get 30% off my order if I added a 3rd item. I found a cell phone case just to put a 3rd item into the order. I selected next day air because I had scheduled to have this car operational by Friday. I was given the next day air cost down to the penny. The web page also advised that the cell phone case was not in stock and would ship in about a week. I accepted the terms and paid with a credit card. I was disappointed to find that the shipping department at Chief decided not to ship the in stock parts next day because the cell phone case was not in stock (as if I paid for next day air and wanted to wait a week to ship my order next day air?). I received a voice mail asking me to call them about the order. I called them back and I was told that not only did my parts not go out yet, but they were also increasing the shipping cost for next day air by 50%. It was also too late for them to ship the in stock items that day. The end result is that I paid for next day air because I needed the parts. They did not ship them because of 1 part being out of stock. I spoke with their rep and asked why I was being charged for next day air when they failed to get my product in the mail. I was told that it was my fault for not getting back with them regarding the out of stock item. I then asked why the shipping cost went up 50% and I was told that the online shipping cost is just a guess. The end result is that I paid 50% more for next day shipping and the parts will be here second day at best. I’m glad that I had this experience early on as a customer. I liked the prices on the equipment. I held off on ordering more because I had not set up an account and sent in copies of my LE credentials. I can only assume that the shipping cost would go up 50% on everything else I ordered had I placed the entire order. "
