"I've had prompt service and my orders have arrived within a couple of days. I find it is an easy to use web site. I have also called customer service and had my questions answered quickly, courteously and accurately!! I wouldn't buy my CD's or DVD's any where else. I've been a customer for over ten years because of the diverse product lines, like coloring books, movies, games, music etc., and the prices are good too!"
"I preordered two things from them using a gift card. When the first item came out, the product never made it to my house, as USPS claimed they tried and failed (I believe they went to a different address as we never received any notices). CD Universe saw that the product was being sent back and I explained why but they would not resend it.The other product was sent to me several days after it was released and took over a week to arrive. However, they payment was suppose to be split, most of it going onto my gift card. Instead, they ended up modifying my order without contacting me and charged the entire thing to my card. When I emailed them, they admitted their mistake and after some back and forth they contacted my gift card holder to charge it manually and refund the amount back to my card. That would have been troublesome enough, if two weeks later there has been no refund and they claim they've done it and there's nothing they can do unless the bank gets involved. They are now, as I don't appreciate being cheated (the nature of the transaction means that the refund could not be "lost" as they claimed, which the bank confirmed for me).Overall their service is high priced, their shipping means that preordering anything is a waste of time as it still takes forever, their customer service was troublesome as well. I will never buy anything from here again and would go so far as to advise anyone else against it too."

"In addition to music and general release movies, cduniverse.com offers adult movies and sex toys. Despite me asking them via their settings page NOT to send me anything of a adult nature, I began receiving e-mails containing EXPLICIT, pornographic photo ads selling their line of sexual lubricants. These e-mails look like any non-adult themed e-mail from cduniverse.com, so I mistakenly opened a couple of the VERY adult-themed e-mails at my desk at work, thinking they were music-related. Needless to say, images of spread-eagle porno stars is not something you want to have pop up on your computer screen at work. I wrote to cduniverse.com at least three times asking them to respect my settings and to quit sending me this sort of stuff, and I got a rather cursory reply each time, always promising that it wouldn't happen again. I told them if it DID happen again, I would unsubscribe to their service and they would lose what I assume would be a very good customer who had spent several thousands of dollars with them over the past few years. They sent more porno and I immediately unsubscribed. Oddly enough, no one with the company ever followed up by bothering to ask me why I canceled . . . Apparently, their customer service is non-existent . . . I have the string of e-mails I sent requesting something be done about this problem and the rather non-committal answers I received . . . "

"i ordered a Death From Above 1979 CD and became worried when 2 weeks passed and nothing came seeming as they have a 1-2 day shipping policy. I emailed customer service and they marked the shipment as lost. Although I was pretty irked, I was happily surprised when they sent a replacement copy for no charge!! Will probably shop here again albeit the high prices are a bit of a turn off. Otherwise, excellent customer service."

It would have been nice to know ahead of time that me and roughly 10,000 other people were trying for just 2 copies. I wouldn't have even bothered. This isn't my first order with CD Universe, but it's certainly my last."
