"Scam artists, indeed. I ordered a camera and when I made the required confirmation call the guy told me I would only get the camera body for that price and instructions in Chinese. I was in a hurry to get the camera before a trip, so went ahead and bought the camera in a box with everything for twice the web listed price (stupid, I know, should have cancelled right then). When the camera arrived, too late for my trip, it was a completely different model. When I called they said they did not even stock the camera I ordered and this one was better (not so). The guy tried to get me to take the camera by lowering the price and throwing in a 2GB card. I said no and after a long time got a return authorization number. I returned the camera and three weeks later am still waiting for my refund to be credited."

"I didn't even get past the phone call. The "owner" is a rude POS and should crawl back into his slime pit hole in the sewer. How can this place stay in business?! Unbelievable treatment over the phone to a new customer. I will never buy from this place, and I will tell everyone considering buying from them to give the guy a call and see what an AH he is."
"WARNING: DO NOT BUY FROM CCI CAMERAPurchased digital SLR + many accorries. Paid for 3 day shipping. Saleperson took order and told me it would arrive in 3 business days. After 1 week I called and camera was not even in stock. Cancelled order and still waiting for refund...2 weeks later."
"Nothing new here. I, like everyone else, was pulled in by the phantom prices. I purchased a Canon XL2 BODY. NO LENS. The rude salesman conviced me that I needed to purchase a lens from them. I declined the 20x stabilizer lens which lists at about $2000 and went with the 16x. The salesmen told me that the total would be $3200. A few days later my account was overdrawn by 5 SEPERATE! charges totaling over $4600. In a panic, I called them to point out the error. The nonchallant salesman told me that I had ordered the 20x lens. When I told him that I had specifically NOT ordered that lens but rather the 16x lens, he told me that they don't even carry a 16x lens, in other words, admitting that the first salesman had flat-out lied to me. I told him that I wanted to cancel. He said it had already been shipped out but that I could return it. But if you look at their return policy, it's worded in a way that basically says "If you breathe on the package, we won't accept the return" It also gives you 7 days to return DV camcorders which is just bearly enough time for it to make it's way back. I'm sick about my decision to buy from this company, even after the red flags (i.e. horrendous cust. service). I've actually lost sleep. We've got to get this company shut down."
"NEVER ORDER FROM THIS STORE!!!I placed an order on-line with CCI Camera City for a Nikon D80 Body Only Camera. They had a very attractive price which is what lured me to their site. I received a mail from them asking me to call and confirm the order.When I called they ran through what seemed to be a standard list of questions designed to pump up the order. They first explained to me (very tersely) that the camera I ordered did not come with a Lens, Battery or Charger. I explained that I already had a lens and asked for a price for the other accessories. I told them I needed to consider the additional cost ($299) and get back to them. I called back a half hour later and explained that I wanted to proceed with the order as is. I was then informed that the product was not an American Model and would take 4-6 weeks to ship to me (despite the "available status" reported on their site and the 3-5 day shipping option which I chose when I placed the order). Whe I questioned this he became very agitated and started berating me with questions--why don't you just purchase the accessories from my store, just get the American model, etc. I explained that I preferred to buy the accessories elsewhere since I was able to find a better price. At this point the person I was speaking with became angry and told me that no one had a better price for authentic parts and said I should buy the camera from them too and hung up on me. This is a typical case of bate and switch and the response from the person working with sent me a clear message that once I was unwilling to succumb to their tactics they became uninterested in making the sale."
"I ordered a Canon Powershot A540 camera. A salesperson called to confirm the next day and indicated I could get a complete package including rechargeable batteries and charger, a 32 Meg memory card, lens cleaning kit, etc. I thought memory, batteries, etc were already included, but he said this was the "Chinese Version, not the US version". I was in the middle of a busy day at work, and bumping the price from $133 shipped to $199 shipped I was in the ballpark for the price this camera plus all of the accessories should have been so I agreed. Also, got talked into a case for an extra $10. When I received the camera, it was NOT an A540, it was an A550 (I had previously compared these two models and decided NOT to get the 550). They charged me $229. The lens cleaning kit, batteries and charger were not there, and neither was the upgraded memory card. The box was open, and it looked like a piece of the warranty card was removed. I contacted my credit card company and indicated I was going to dispute this. The charge had already cleared, so it could not be stopped. I contacted camera city and they said they would send out the missing items, but I said I didnt want the camera they sent, and I wanted to return it. They said if the recording of the salesman said that he said he was going to send me an updated model, that I would be subject to a restocking fee of 19 and change. Also, I see that they indicate on their web site that if any paperwork or anything is removed, that they will not accept returns. Since part of the warranty card was removed, I wonder if they will try to use that to say I defaced the paperwork to avoid paying me??? Ive never been scammed doing business over the internet, but I guess there's always a first time. I will be returning this item in tomorrow, and my dispute form from to the credit card company will be completed and mailed as well. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE."
"WORST ONLINE EXPERIENCE, EVER. I order online all the time as my company has a variety of needs and I can say without hesitation that CCI Camera City is the worst, ever. Ordered through their site (canon 5D) and was then told on the phone that I needed the battery, documentation, and a camera in english, so the price went up (still theoretically saving money) and I was told it would be shipped last week. STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED it... DO NOT ORDER FROM CCI, period."
"Why didn't I see this site before I placed my order for a Canon SD600!!! When I called to verify my order, I was told all I would be getting for the order price was the camera and not the bundle package that always comes with a camera. I was then talked into ordering the batteries and case. Two weeks went by and I never received the camera. I called to cancel and to my surprise was told that I could. They told me that I would see a credit in 1-3 business days. After not seeing the credit in 4 days, I called again. They told me I would see it that night. Well, I have still not seen it and now when I try to call the phone #'s, it rings and finally disconnects or the recorder plays over and over again. I am sure they have shut their doors. I have called my credit card company to check into my charge. Now after reading everyone else's blogs I am wondering if I should cancel my credit card. How can these people be in business? Why haven't they been stopped from doing internet business? I am sick about this! I order alot of things over the internet and have never been burned - this has taught me a valuable lesson to always do my homework. Has anyone seen any fraudulent charges on their account? Should I cancel my credit card? "
"Horrible company! Horrible customer service. I ordered a Canon SD1000 from them online. Nowhere online did it say that it didn't come with the battery, and since the camera ships from the manufacturer with the battery included, i assumed it did. They called me a few days later wanting the 3 digit security code from my credit card and wanting to sell me the battery for an extra $90. I thought it was outrageous and tried to argue with the guy that we had a contract and that he needed to make good on it, but he refused. He said I had ordered the "studio edition" and that I needed to order the "usa edition" to get the battery at a much higher price. Nowhere on my invoice, on the website, or order form was there anything about any studio edition or any other kind of edition. I cancelled the contract, and now I just need to keep an eye on my checking account to make sure I'm not billed for it. "
"Same story here. I think I actually got lucky. When I bought into the upsell to "american camera" I was told it would be here in 3 days. The next week- I called. Camera had supposedly been shipped. But no one could give me a tracking number. Hmmm. I stated I wanted to cancel my order. This was a gift for someone else and could get it cheaper ordering from circuit city. The man stated I could not cancel my order. I would have to return it. It had already left. 10 min later I got a call back from the same man. He was trying to upsell me to the sd700. (Canons replacement for sd630) I said no. I thought the camera had already left anyhow.... He then told me he could go ahead and cancel my order. I know it is only because they were probably out of the sd630's and couldn't get any more. Credit has still not been made to my credit card. I have filed dispute. Am really hoping this isn't a long headache. If only I would have read reviews 1st. LESSON LEARNED!"
