"I ordered 3 games from Buy Rite Games on March 13th 2005 and they arrived yesterday. I do believe they are slow but they do answer the phone. You have to keep calling because there is only a few lines available. But if you want to get your item faster buy from somewhere else. "
"I ordered a Dreamcast broadband adaptor from BuyRite after I noticed that they had one listed on their site. It said to send an e-mail to them, so I did, and I got a reply about it being in stock and its price, and a few days later they'd changed their page so it was actually able to be purchased. I placed the order, but was sent an ordinary modem instead of the BBA. Although they look similar, I would've figured somebody there would've known the difference. I informed them by e-mail about the wrong item, and sent the modem back with a copy of the e-mail they had returned to me authorizing a return. They appologized for the inconvienience, and said they'd send the correct item the next Monday, and I'd get tracking info, which I never got. Anyway, I did actually receive the BBA in the end, but it looks as though I got lucky from what I've heard from others ordering from BuyRite."
"I ran an internet video games business for a very short time and was going to use buyrite as a wholesaler. I did my home work and found them listed on the BBB. Going against my intuition, I signed up for their wholesaling prices just to see what they had to offer. They did have an item I couldn't seem to find anywhere. On 4/2/2003 I ordered some items which shipped for $10.
Over a week had gone by and I haven't received any notification nor package. Now in contrast to stories I have heard, I called the NC store and inquired about an internet sale and they said it shipped. They actually answered my question about an internet sale instead of giving me the run around like I've heard. I asked for the name of the gentleman I spoke with, just as a reference, He said, "John", I said "John what". He said: "I am the only John here", I said "Can I have your last name?" and he said: "I don't give out last names" ....What the Hell is that about? (STRIKE 1)
I placed the order over the web. 11 days later I received an email that it finally shipped. 11 days!!! (STRIKE 2)
$10 for shipping!!! That is outrageous, the packaged weighed less than two pounds. (STRIKE 3)
I am still receiving FAXES from BUYRITE...some even at 1AM and 4 AM in the morning. This was a home based business so you can see how annoying that is. I also did not tell them that this was a FAX number. Today was the second time I called to have the number removed from the FAX list (STRIKE 4).
I decided to handle this very nicely, he is how the conversation went:
Person (maybe John, the guy who sounds like the voice message at Buy Rite): Hello, BuyRite Video Games
ME: Hello, John?
Person: Who is this? (very suspiciously, no acknowledgement if this was him or not) (STRIKE 5)
Normally people would say, "YES" or "NO, sorry John is not here right now", or "HOLD ON please let me get him"
ME: My name is XXX, I was a Wholesale customer of yours.
Person: Yeah? (very smugly, What the HELL is it with this guy?)
ME: Can you please remove my number from your list, my business has closed down and I do not wish to receive FAXES anymore?
Person: What's your number?
ME: Number:
Person: OK it will be removed.
ME: Thank You.
Bottom Line:
1) Poor Customer Service, bad attitude etc. 2) Limited contact with anyone 3) Outrageous Shipping Prices 4) Length of Shipping Time
"I ordered from Buy Rite, because the prices looked good and they had a lot of hard to find NES games. Hard to find is right, because as it turns out buy rite NEVER HAD THEM IN STOCK. I bought a PS2 game and 3 NES games, the PS2 game came in around 10 days after I ordred. Luckily I was only charged for the PS2 game, but I was NEVER told my NES games were cancelled. I emailed them asking where my NES games were and they told me they had been cancelled because they were not in stock. So why are they even on the website?? "
"Well it took the company over two weeks in order to ship my order, plus another for it to get here. Well there is no packaging involved with these people, all they do is put your stuff in a box and send it out, no bubbles, no popcorn, nothing, just bare in a box. Needless to say, me goods were damaged, as they also sent two wrong items. On top of that, a mangled book was sent as with 3 used DVD box sets, which I had ordered to be new and a mangled book. I called them, and after an eternity on the phone with long distance, someone decided to reply. They did not offer to ship me the correct items, nor even ask about the shipping, which to them was normal, without filler and bare in a box. They tried to buy me off with a book that they were getting rid of, instead of actually trying to give me the stuff I had ordered and not USED merchandise. I will never shop from them again and hope they go out of business."
"Do not order anything from Buy-Rite video games, they take your money as fast as you place your order but don't send you anything, this company is crooked. If you're lucky you may get what you order but don't count on it. Save yourself the trouble, pay the extra money and buy else where, it's a hassle to get a refund from Buy Rite.
I placed an order from Buy-Rite video games because of their wide selection and some hard to find systems. I put an order in for a Sega Saturn Bundle & Marvel vs Capcom 2 for Dreamcast, with a total of $161.16. After 1 week had passed I had no Tracking numbers and no packages from them and I had recieved my credit card statment for the month and they charged me the day I placed the order. So I tried to call up their company but the number they provided was no longer in service with them. I then attempted to Email them trying to find out the status of my order but no replies for 2 weeks. I finally got a reply saying that they were experiencing bad weather and they could not ship anything out and that they would be shipping out my order the next day. I waited 1 more week with no tracking numbers or confirmation emails about my package. I sent them another email and they replied that it had been shipped out ups the day before and would be there in 3 days, I waited and still nothing, I emailed them one last time and they replied that they were out of stock and were getting a new shipment within a week. I emailed them telling them that I wanted my money back but they never replied.
After a month had passed and no refund I contacted the better business bureau and after 2 months I finally got my refund.
Its companies like this who give internet shopping a bad name. At the time Buy Rite video games was not on Resellers rating but I submitted it in hopes to prevent anyone from buying from them again."
"I have a TERRIBLE experience with this company. I would go into it here but it is a long story. Basically, I waited over 2 months to get a producted that I had ordered but for me to get it I drove down to North Carolina where their main place is from Florida. I wanted one of my video game systems modified with a chip. The manager and staff are VERY RUDE. They even have a security guard in their little 'store' because they get so many complaints and are worried that someone might attack the manager. I say 'store' because this place is exetremely small and doesn't even look like one. Well after waiting for 2 months they lost my system and just gave me an import one and a free game. I wanted my original system back but the best thing they could come up with was that 'they lost it and there's nothing they can do.' What kind of business is this? I am currently thinking of sueing these incompetent people. This is a fly-by-night type of company. Watch out."
