"I wanted to order a Canon 450d only from Broadway photo, the guy called back and talked to my husband and told him that I really needed a few extra accessories, he insisted and insisted so much that my husband said ok just to stop him and thought that I could cancel later. when I came back an hour later the order was $1000 over my previous order then I called to cancel, the guy was so rude and said that it wasn't possible because it was already shipped and If I cancel it's going to cost me $200. I said that I only asked for a regular shipping in 7 days but he said that was like that and hang up... I never received a invoice, the package was left in front of the door in the street, the camera was not even new and all the accessories were cheap one and broke soon after !"

""The new" Broadway Photo (new management supposedly) is SAME as old BWP. Same lies. "The included battery has only 30-45 minute life". Then bwp attempt to sell you the 'upgraded' battery for twice the actual msrp cost (a $40 battery is offered for $80 b/c its 'better' - a flat out 100% lie!). Same, same, same! Nothing has changed @BWP. they have a 1.00 rating out of 10 after 710 reviews. Do the math! That is 10 people every 100 sales. Next I was forced to ship & pay for 2 day b/c of my location. But package was sent 7 day ground! HELLO!!!! Even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes! BWP would steal from their grandmother whiloe she was dying of cancer I am 100% convinced. AVOID "THE NEW" BROADWAY PHOTO LIKE THE PLAUGE. It is needed to claim 'new management' to seperate themselfs from fraud in the past. Nothing has changed & neither will this review. There is nothing short of a 100% refund - to include ALL shipping costs that will entice me to edit this review. How about them apples broadway photo? Works both ways. How hard is it to be honest & decent to paying customers? Immpossible apparently @ BWP."

"I went into the Bway store near Times Square. They put a $189 charge on my credit card for a 4 GB SD memory card that should have cost me $8. Then flat out refused to stop the transaction when I caught it. Laughed when I told them I would call the credit card company to resolve it. They really don't care about customers at all, its all about scamming. They took my receipt back from me when I complained so I had no physical proof of the scam."
"The order was processed the within 24 hr of my purchase. This site has been my source for my camera needs. The deals on the price are incredible. As always, Broadwayphoto offers fast, reliable, and amazing deals on the web."
"I BUY DIGITAL gave me Great Service and Price, No games! This place is legit!, No bait and Switch, I Called many Other NYC Discount Camera Stores got all the BS and Attitude one could handle. These guys at IBUY DIGITAL were excellent! These guys are a breath of fresh air! Orderd on the 12/02/ recieved on the 12/08 even sent me a UPS tracking # . I would definitely recommend I BUY Digital. I am not being paid to write this review but when you buy a camera and you see a advertise price It should be the price that is being clearly advertised! There should not be all the games some of those discount camera stores pull. Before you buy a camera from one of those discount stores just look up the discount stores name and read about their service and complaints!"

"Ok....IBUY Digital had this great price for the Nikon D90 that I bought. I looked up the reviews and I tell you, it was a little disconcerting....but you know what, they were absolutly great. Not sure who the unhappy folks were, but this was fine by me...and I am picky and easily pissed.
It helps if you know exactly what you want because the sales guys are a degree pushy (as they probably should), but I got my camera in 3 days after they shipped......tracking info and all. It initially got held up by thanksgiving, but I did get my camera with all accompanying accesories. All in all, I will give IBUY Digital 4.1 stars out of 5. I added the .1 because I was pleasantly suprised as service was opposite a lot of the uncomfortable reviews. Thanks......"
"I ordered a Canon T1I camera and the saleman told me the best buy was the CNEOSRDT1 Kit so I said ok . When I recieved the order the camera was what I order but the rest of the kit was a mess of nothing the camera bag would cost about $5.00 at walmart. the lens cleaning kit was junk. so my think is if you order just what you want and don't listen to the salesman. Thanks Ron "
"Vendor sales is not familar with camcorder that they are selling. Sales person recommended buying extra battery that does not work with the camcorder. I have particular asked him that the battery can fix with the compact camcorder which is new from JVC and require small battery. After he convinced me that the battery will fit then I ordered the extra package which includes battery, battery charger and carrying case. But the battery is way too big to fix the camcorder. Vendor insisted on only taking back part of the package which is the battery and charger. And I need to pay postage to ship them back. The sales person told me that they will pay the postage; and they backed out of their promise. "
"Here's my experience with Broadway Photo. Saw them advertised in Outdoor Photographer. Called and spoke with Eric x278. He confirmed the price was as listed and that the 5D Mk2 was in stock.
I was up front and shared about the plethora of nightmare stories on the web and I was unsure about proceeding. I found Eric to be very patient, he did not work off of the intimidation factor and assured me that since the investigation with the State Attorney, that Broadway Photo has regrouped, gone under new management and was desirous of making things right with the consumer.
I told him he can begin with me. I informed him that all I needed was the camera body. He offered insurance, I declined. He was okay with that. I did accept the offer for an extended warranty. He took my order and didn't try to press me on purchasing extras. He just asked if there was anything else I might need. I told him, 'no'. He gave me an order number and told me that the order would be shipped by the end of the next day.
When it wasn't, I called him again he was very patient with me. The e-mail address I provided him was used, but for some reason, the confirmation didn't go through. I offered another e-mail address and it went right through. The package was shipped the next day.
A couple of days later the package was dropped off and I anxiously opened it up. Everything looked as if it was in order. But I was still suspicious as I continued to find more and more stuff about Broadway Photo.
The first thing I did was register my camera with Canon using the S/N on the camera. It went through. I thought, okay, this is good. I then called up Canon USA and spoke with a rep who verified that if I were to send my camera in to Canon USA based on the S/N that I provided, that Canon would consider it under warranty and do any repairs. That put my mind at ease.
It's now been over a week and my camera seems to be doing everything I ask it to do, there are no outstanding issues and I'm satisfied.
I called up Eric one more time after I spoke with the Canon rep and grilled him on the business practices of Broadway Photo. Again, he was very patient and articulate and quite understanding about my concerns. He assured me one more time that as of just a couple of months ago that they have turned over a new leaf (legally forced leaf) and hoped that I would use Broadway Photo in the future should I need anything.
I'm not going to bash them, I'm not going to endorse them at this time . . . I'm just stating my experience and the assistance that Eric provided. I hope what I was told is true and not just the party line talk. If it is true, I'm pleased to be a part of helping a troubled business get back on their feet. We'll see.
"I got my product fast. The customer service representative was efficient and accomodating during the process of exchanging a lens that I was not happy with. He even waived the handling and insurance fee for the exchange that I made! Overall this company provides great service."
"Absolutely horrible experience; classic example of "let the buyer beware". After researching prices, I ordered a camera from Broadway. The website indicated the item was in stock and would ship in 3-5 days. Soon, I received an email stating I needed to contact them before the order could be processed. I called, and the salesperson tried to sell me an additional item as part of the package: a three year extended warranty. I refused. As part of the salesperson's verbal summary of my order, I heard him say that the camera would ship "in seven to ten weeks". When asked why the website said the camera was in stock and would ship in 3-5 days, he informed me that "in stock" only applied to the US Market version, which required purchase of the extended warranty. If the warranty was not purchased, the product was not in stock and would ship from the Asian warehouse. Hence, 7 to 10 weeks. If this company could be blacklisted, it should be!!! "
Digital Liquidators 337 East 89th Street Brooklyn, NY 11236
RE: Order 334 269 5796
To Whom It May Concern:
On September 7, I ordered a Pentax ist* Digital Camera and the Pentax 16-45 Auto Focus Lens. The price of the camera and lens was $1429.00
I also was ordering a tripod. The salesperson on the phone suggested a Vanguard VT-950 Tripod. I believe the price was $299.00. I hesitated and told him I wanted to check prices and he assured me that Digital Liquidators had a 21 day price match policy. I ordered the tripod.
He also suggested a Transcend Compact Flash 1 GB 45 x High Speed and said that the price was $599.00 I asked why such a high price and he said it was because the camera requires a high speed compact flash.
Additionally he suggested I purchase a Digicom Auxiliary Power Pack 5 Volt Battery. I said okay. I then asked again about the price match policy.
The total with an $82.45 shipping fee came to $2662.44.
A Vanguard VT-950 Tripod ranges between $51.70 and $56.16 plus shipping according to the accompanying research. Please see attached sheets.
A Digicom Battery Pack which is the same as what Digital Liquidators sent is $29.99 from TigerDirect.com.
An identical 1 GB Transcend 1 GB 45 X Ultra Performance Compact Flash Card is $113. This does not include the $5.00 bonus from Newegg.
This totals $1718.15 which includes a $90 shipping and handling fee. Your price to me was $2662.44 The differential is $944.29.
This order was placed on a credit card. I have since cancelled that card and paid it in full. Please remit to me a check in the amount of $944.29 which will fulfill your price match Guarantee and send to the above letterhead address.
Should you have any questions whatsoever, please call me at:
520-
I have sent several e mails asking for a price breakdown and itemized invoice. To date I have not received that.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
REGISTERED RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED
This is a copy of the letter I sent to Digital Liquidators. A salesperson called me and offered to send me other merchandise which included an insurance policy for the camera, a UV filter, and some other minor item. I told him that I wanted the cash. He explicitly stated that was not possible and that there is no "price match" policy and that I was extremely mistaken. I am going to contact the Attorney General's Office and told him so. I admit I should have researched the items but didn't have time. It cost me nearly $1,000. I sent him the printouts of the other web sites and he appeared to be amazed that I had done my homework. I strongly suggest that consumers not purchase from this vendor.
"Ordered a Nikon F-100 online from BroadwayPhoto. Next day got an email saying I needed to call for "order verification", which to no one's surprise was to push other items, one being a Mack warranty. I asked if there wasn't a warranty on the camera and he said "yeah, but only 90 days." I then asked specifically if this was an import or a grey market camera. Reply, "No, of course not...why do you ask?" I should have cancelled right then, but believing the lie, I went ahead with the order, including the Mack warranty and a battery charger. Next I get another phone call, saying it was security from Broadway photo, and wanting me to fax front and back of the credit card I used AND my driver's license. This was very bizarre, and fearing identity fraud or something,I balked. She said, "just a minute", and when she came back said it was OK, her supervisor had said they'd let the order out. I wish they had not, frankly. I received the camera, with an outrageous shipping fee (they won't tell you in advance what that will be),and found that the film loading door would not open. I called, asked for an exchange. I was called, told it was "quality control" and told the camera worked just fine, maybe I didn't know how to open the door. I informed them I had followed the directions just fine, did NOT want THAT camera, and either exchange it for a new one or refund my money. They said OK. I was further told they would refund me the shipping I p[aid to get it back to them (they did not)and would not charge me another outrageous ($59) shipping fee. Now a new wrinkle. In the first box was a yellow Nikon rebate form. When the replacement camera arrived, I could find only a form with a B&H Photo imprint. (I had also ordered from B&H-recommended highly.)Thinking I had sent back the first Broadway rebate form with the exchange camera, I asked for one to be faxed to me (took two tries). When it faxed through, it ALSO said B&H Photo. Knowing B&H photo has a fine reputation, I called them and asked specifically if they were affiliated with Broadway Photo. NO!! They definitely are not. Then informed B&H what Broadway was doing--sending out rebate forms with their shoddy merchandise packed with B&H dealer rebate forms. I suggested B&H give Broadway Photo a little ringy-dingy, and, like, "cease and desist." Of course these rebate forms would be unusable anyway since the dealer on the invoice has to match the dealer on the rebate form. I also called Nikon to be informed what I already feared--that this was indeed a grey market camera, and they could not only not warranty it, they could NEVER service it. Broadway Photo flat out LIED about it not being grey market. (In fact, on Broadway's site, the listing says the camera is brand new, includes all accesories, and carried a one year warranty!)It did say "no rebate available", but I took that to mean there was not one available from NIkon on this camera at this time. SO when the form appeared in the bix I was a little puzzled, because there is one right now. I was not smart enough to catch what "no rebate" meant. By the way, Nikon also had some warning words to say about Broadway Photo, which is, much to my late realization, totally unscrupulous and NOT an authorized Nikon dealer. Apparently Nikon USA has even taken them to court and been overruled. On top of all this, Broadway salespeople (and customer service people) are RUDE, pushy, and insulting. I would return the camera and ask for a refund, but after all the shipping, sending back and reshipping, etc I am now beyond my 21 days "guaranteed satisfaction". Besides I just want to be through with them and wash my hands. They will stoop to anything to sell. I wish beforehand I had checked forums such as this one. I would recommend noone EVER, NEVER deal with Broadway Photo."
