I placed this order September 16, 09. After several emails and phone calls I was finally told it would be a 6 to 8 week wait and that it would ship automaticly when they got it in. I checked with the manufacter to see if there was a backlog and was told it was current production and there was no shortage (could ship today). Today is November 20th (over 9 weeks)and still haven't seen or heard anything. This isn't my 1st time with the same experience. This review was modified by its author, norlen, on

As a law enforcement professional for 25 years I have ordered equipment from dozens of different companies and I am pleased to say that Botach has the absolute best customer service! Botach outstanding customer service has has earned my business for life and I will always highly recommend them to other law enforcement professionals.

Not impressed.
With the last two orders I placed I received emails saying the order has been shipped and giving me the expected delivery date. Actually not only had the order not been shipped, but they did not have it in stock. Nobody let me know this. I actually got two more emails confirming that the order shipped.
The only way I found out about the true status of the order was by calling a week plus after I had placed the order.
Nobody answered the phone over the period of 2 hours and calling at least five times. I finally called the government sales department and he told me to call him right back on another number so he could transfer me to customer service. I called right back and nobody answered the phone. I hung up and called again and the lady who answered told me I had called the wrong number. She put me on hold for a few minutes and then told me she would have to leave them a message. She would have someone call.
24 hours later I got a phone call. The girl said that one item was on backorder and that they did not send a partial order unless requested. All my communication to this point says all items have shipped. How am I supposed to know to request a partial shipment?
So she asks if I want the back-ordered item in another color. I said yes, that would be fine, but I want you to expedite the shipping. She can't do that. So she goes and gets someone else. HE tells me he won't over-night anything, but he will three-day it. I am fine with that. So, today is the second day of the three. I am supposed to receive it tomorrow but I still have no shipping confirmation or a tracking number, only his word.
I went through a similar run-around with the previous order.
I would not say to stay away from them, but be prepared for some hassle. In all fairness, I have placed other orders with Botach that have gone without a hitch. I am just frustrated with the last two.
Prices are good, but the customer non-service can be very lousy.

Ordered a product on 10/20. Received immediate email that product was shipped. Good start. A week, 10 days go by and nothing. Called to inquire. Item never shipped, blamed on computer error and back order. Said product was in a would ship soon. would call to confirm. Never a call or email. Called Monday. Same story. Called today to cancel my order. Got it somewhere reliable!

The items on this order were shipped at different times. I was notified re: shipment and it got to me pretty fast. Another item came after a couple of days. I was informed that the last items were sent direct from the manufacturers. They maintained communication and I was a happy camper. After a few days, the last item has not arrived so I made an inquiry, I learned that the best way to do this is through SMS messages, which they responded to at real-time. They were very helpful and I remained a happy camper. I got the last item today, right on time before I depart for tomorrow. Would I do business with botach again? Yes Sir.

Botach provided me great service.
I had questions about some equipment specifics and got great advice on what products would serve my needs best...
They were spot on.
The prices are always competitive and that is great also.
Thank you Botach.
I will continue to do business with them...I will be making another order in the next day or two.

Other than taking a week longer than what the invoice indicated, as far as shipment was concerned, I am totally satisfied.

These guys have terrible customer service. I placed an order and they immediately charged my credit card without shipping the order.
The item is on backorder and won't be shipped for two weeks. And, they never informed me it was backordered. I called and talked to these geniuses - they offered me 5% off - WOW.
From reading some of the other reviews, it looks like they do this all the time.
There's plenty of other sources for these type of accessories on the net. I'll be buying from someone else who truly cares about their customers.
As they say, vote with your wallets.

This company's customer service was awful. They didn't answer my calls or messages that I would leave. I waited up to 20 minutes online for their "live help" option. I was given a number of someone to call by someone from the "live help" I called and left a message never heard back called again never heard back. Called the company back no answer live help told me my item was on back order so I kept waiting. Here I am almost 5 weeks later finally got my item. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Worst online purchasing experience I have ever had.
*Multiple items shipped wrong, I am still dealing with an item that was shipped incorrectly 2 months later. Thankfully some have been resolved.
*ZERO communication, dont expect them to call or email you ever, even when they say they will. (One day after being told by the Botach rep that I would receive a call back in regards to my problem item I decided to call their bluff and say "I know you are not going to call me back. You never call anyone back". She playfully laughed at me and told me I would ge a phone call the next day. I called them a week later because I never heard from them as usual.)
*The word backordered must be taught in some sort of client problem deflection class.
*The decent prices are not wort the hassle and headache. Spend the extra money and support a decent company instead of keeping this one afloat.

I struggled in deciding to order from Botach. Their KZ line of foregrips, mounts, etc. are very nice and I really wanted to try the KZ Stubby with rail. I read all of the bad press on Resellerratings and other places and it seemed like folks either got their items, or got in backorder hell. For the $30 that the item was going to cost, I decided to give it a try.
I logged into Botach's live support and was quickly in live chat with a CSR. I asked if the specific item I was looking for was in stock by model name and the web page link. The CSR went to check on the item and came back shortly with an answer of 'yes'. Dan or Dave (sorry, I can't remember at the moment) was courteous and helpful in assisting me.
Placed my order on the 28th and it showed up on my doorstep today (29th)! I usually get that with shipments from Newegg's CA wharehouse, but this is a first for another vendor. Looks like it was drop-shipped out of Los Angeles. Either way, my purchasing process was flawless for this order. Given that, I'm going to order a few more items using the same MO. Really like the KZ Stubby Grip with rail. Way better quality than the other vertical grip I own, by a long shot, and half the price of the Mako unit (that is probably comes from the exact same OEM).
Anyway, I felt compelled to post this review given the reviews I seen on RR/Google/Yahoo. Mine was perfect. We'll see what happens on the next order.
11/3/09 Update - Placed a second order for two more KZ Tactical products on 11/2. Arrived at my house today (11/3/09). Based on this and my first experience (see above) I'm going to say if its in stock, it must get shipped ASAP. Since KZ Tactical appears to be their in-house brand, I'll go out on a limb and say you'll probably have good luck with getting those quickly. Again, I checked with 'live support' (DAN!) before ordering to validate that the items I was looking at were in stock. Once confirmed I placed my order.
11/5 Update - Based on the last two orders I ordered the KZ M73 Picatinny Forend. Same deal. Used live support, verified in stock, ordered. Item arrived at my doorstep the next day (again, looks like its dropshipped out of Los Angeles).
Can't speak to any of the other stuff they carry, but buying the KZ line looks good so far. I'll be shopping for more KZ items in the future from Botach and will update if I have any issues with shipping. This review was modified by its author, Janizary, on

The moment I placed my order, they charged the credit card and issued a tracking # - which later proved to be bogus, since the ordered item was on backorder (which I found out only a week later when I FINALLY gotten through their ridiculous telephone customer support). When asked to cancel the order and refund me, the rep assured me it'll be done - 2 days later, the order was still on and no refund. Took another phone call to cancel it and receive a confirmation. Now I'm waiting on my refund and it better happen quick, I don't feel like calling 'em again.
Other thoughts - I used to order from them a few years back, then it gone extremely bad. My guess is, when the item in question is in stock they ship it rather quickly, but I don't buy this BS with charging buyer's CC and failing to inform him that the item is backordered.
