I just used BorrowLenses for the first time and found the service and ease of shipping excellent! I'm in Chicago and they are in LA, but even with shipping they were half of what I would have paid in Chicago. They have excellent e-mail correspondence with tracking info. When your done you put it back in the same box that it came in and then attach the prepaid sticker and your done!
I have been telling all my friends about them.I will definitely rent from them again!

I recently rented the Canon 4OOmm f/2.8 for a two week period of time. I had a complicated delivery situation, but the staff of BorrowLenses provided excellent creative assistance and had the lens waiting for me. The lens was in pristine condition and executed tack sharp photos. I am extremely pleased with my experience with BorrowLenses.com and will be back, hopefully for the same lens to the same location next year!

I was very pleased with the price of products and the EXTREMELY fast response times on, ordering, shipping and feedback from BorrowLenses. My only 'critique' or improvement would be to have more items available. (more than 1 or 2 of the same lens).

BorrowLenses is a great place! I've rented from them at least 6 times now and will continue to do so until I win the lottery and can buy every lens I want, until then I will continue to rent from them. The fact that they will deliver locally to KameraKorner in SJ is an added bonus since I live in Campbell, I can usually get a lens the next day without having to wait for it in the mail.

Lens was in great shape. Easy process. Even shipped it a little early to make sure I had it in time. Will use this service again.

I was referred to borrowlenses.com by Kaufman's Camera Shop on 25th Ave. in San Mateo. I was amazed to find out that borrowlenses even existed. I went to San Francisco to Calumet Photo and Adolph Gassers and was skunked because I didn't reserve ahead of time. Although borrowlenses.com also didn't have the precise lens I was looking for because they were all rented, they helped me with a less expensive model for my weeks vacation to Hawaii. The lens was in great shape, my photos came out WAY better than they would have with the kit lens, and the week's rental was CHEAP! What a great place borrowlenses.com is. I HIGHLY recommend it.

This company is dynamic!!With less than one week notice borrowlenses came through. Customer service is a lost art and Borrowlenses is bringing it back. Great e-mail communication and personal responses. Shipped quickly and received it on time with a tracking number, easy to ship back with included paperwork. I have recommended them and would definetly use them again. Thank You. SUPER HAPPY in Escondido, California

The staff at borrowlenses was TERRIFIC! I am from Ohio and was doing a wedding in New York and my normal supplier was out of the lens I needed. On very short notice borrowlenses was able to locate a location in New York in the town I was staying that they could deliver the lens securely to where it would await my picking it up and it was all over the phone since I was driving from OH to NY and had no internet access, which is normally how they do business. This way it wasn't sitting on any porch or in a hotel, unsecure. The lens arrived very promptly in less than 2 days and I signed for it at a FedEx location very close to my wedding site. Product was in terrific condition and very well packaged. The price was very reasonable and, the staff was so wonderful to work with. They went out of their way to help me!

Renting from them third time. They are very responsible and always willing to accommodate your needs. I once picked up lenses from them at 8PM - local pick up of course - don't know if they will be happy to see this note, but anyway ;) Gear so far was in perfect condition.
Very good company to work with.

I was moderately satisfied with the transaction. The store was helpful in calling me directly to inform me that the lens that I ordered wasn't available (the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4). They then promptly found a replacement that I could use.
However, there are 2 things that I think could have been very helpful for a novice renter to know.
1) I had rented the Remote Switch RS-80N3 for Canon along with a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi. Now that I observe more closely in the descriptions (as well as when I tried to use the remote switch), the remote switch isn't compatible with the XTi. It could have been helpful to know when I received the call about the lens that these two things weren't compatible (it would have saved me $13.00)
2) The tripods do not come with a head. Perhaps this is standard knowledge for a professional photographer, but for a novice, I was not aware of this. Perhaps, a little more hand holding regarding minor details like this would be very helpful (even the guy at Kamera Korner helping me said that he wished BorrowLenses would provide a little more information to the regular joe regarding stuff like the tripod & head).
Also, I realize that both things were mainly my fault for not being more careful in reading the details, but I feel that when it comes to something like this, a majority of novices would encounter the same problems. A little more information would go a long way.
Besides those 2 hiccups, it was a good experience. If the need arises, I would rent again (with my lessons learned).
