"I can't tell if BPE is lazy or just irresponsible. My company ordered an expensive high-end video camera and accessories, and we were told it would arrive in about a week. 2 weeks later, we called and were told it's still coming, but will take another 2 weeks. After waiting 5 weeks, we called again and were told the camera is out of stock. At that point we canceled the order and bought the same items from one of BPE's competitors, and the full order arrived in less than 3 days. BPE showed total incompetence throughout this laborious process and we will never order from them again. Don't make the same mistake my company did."

"Compared to other competitors in NY state, this store showed a slower delivery and handling of items. Also, they did not respond to my question regarding a warranty via e-mail after they charged a price and sent out items. I recommend searching for other dealers. "

"I'm lucky if I received my camera this week. I ordered canonT1i on the January 25th. And after all the bullshitting they said they shipped it on 31st.I never got any confirmation on if it's been shipped. I email them on Feb4th to find out. No reply. So I called them on Feb 7th. They say I will received the confirmation email (which I still don't.
Worst online shopping experience I've ever had.
I will never buy from such site again.
I will be asking my money back if I don't get it this week. It's way past 9 days ground shipping time.
I will update again if I get my camera

Update 2.10.11

After I posted this review I got a called from the store. The person yelled at me to change my review.

TO BE CLEAR, I NEVER GOT ANY CONFIRMATION ON IF THE CAMERA HAS BEEN SHIPPED OR NOT FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE TRANSACTION.
They never provided me with any proof as to the camera has been shipped.

So the guy said the camera was shipped back to them and will ship it to me again. So I asked my money back instead. And he continues to yelled at me. After that I was transferred to Russell. He then told me the item was already shipped and will get it soon. Two people said two different things! He was somewhat nice. But then he told me "if I don't change my review he will not give me back my money back in full"
I told them I won't change anything until I see my money in the bank.
And he keeps on telling me to change it or else I won't get my money back in full.[I'm entitled to my money back in full since I've never even seen the camera nor got proof that I might get it] It took me around 30 minutes to get this thing straight. It was really upsetting.
I got my money back in full today.
But I never want to go through that again. I've done several online purchases. Never had any problem till now.
They might get good reviews if they are good at services and not threaten their customer!

"Update: I just cancelled my order for a Canon Rebel T1i camera. After numerous phone calls and a lot of frustration, I couldn't wait for my camera any longer. I originally ordered my camera on Nov. 27, 2010 and received a follow-up confirmation call shortly thereafter, so I thought everything was all set and we were good to go. Then when the delivery date came and went, I placed a follow-up phone call only to be told that they had "over sold" my camera and that it wouldn't be available for shipment for a week or so. I then posted an unfavorable review on ResellerRatings.com and that very night, I received a phone call from a manager at Best Price Electronics who wanted to "make things right" for me. He asked if he could send me a memory card and battery charger for my trouble and I said, "Okay." He then asked if I would revise my original review to reflect that he was trying to work with me. I agreed to do so reluctantly and did revise my original review. I truly thought the manager would make good on his claim to have the camera possibly ship out this past Friday, 12/17. I called BPE this morning to check on the status of my order and was told that my camera model would not be in before Christmas. To BPE's credit, they did follow through with their promise to send me a memory card and camera charger, but I feel that asking a consumer to revise or modify their original review is somewhat unethical. I wish I hadn't modified my original review. I have learned through conversations with BPE phone reps that their website is not "real time" so even if their website says a camera is available, there's a chance that it's really not availabe to ship out to you. If they have your camera in stock, I have to admit their prices are the best by far, but I have found my interactions with BPE to be very frustrating and a big waste of time. Please read my revised review below...here it is:

I was an unhappy customer at Best Price Electronics until Steve, the manager returned my call tonight. He has assured me that he will personally work to get my Canon Rebel T1i delivered as soon as possible and I honestly believe him so I am willing to continue working with BPE to complete this transaction. Reggie, the phone associate who I spoke with earlier in the day, said he would overnight the camera once it arrived in stock in order to get the camera to my family as soon as possible. Stay tuned. I hope to report a happy ending."

"just purchased a canon t2i w/lense kit for myself. amazed how cheap the price was after hours of comparing and reviews from others. so far, i'am not comfortable after reading all these negative reviews. as of right now (as im typing everything) iam still on hold with my phone on speaker at exactly 26:53 min, waiting to get transfered to the billing department to cancel my order. so far iam not satisfied. i tried calling earlier to get confirmation that my camera is in stock like it says on the website after reading reviews but was put on hold for 15 minutes and hung up myself. now im calling to know if its going to be delivered with in the next 7-9 buisness days like it says on the invoice email. if so and i get a FRIENDLY answer from someone or call after i post this, i wont consider cancelling my order. or other wise. i wish i read up and did my research about BPE. hopefully i get an answer asap and wont get screwed!"

"FINAL UPDATE after receiving order: I received my S95 after 21 days of ordering. Everything is in order. The only negative things I have to say are the significant delay in shipping and no communication during the whole delay until I called. I have changed some star ratings based on teh fact that finally it ended well and I got my camera before christmas.

UPDATE: The manager called me after seeing my negative review here. He tried to bribe me with a free 4GB card so I could take off my review. I did not accept the gift and will hold up this review for the benefit of other shoppers, so they are aware of the undisclosed shipping delays.

ORIGINAL: I ordered a Canon S95 from their store 2 weeks ago. They said 7-9 bus days for delivery. Fine. I call on 9th business day about tracking number for my order and after holding for 20 mins. they told me they'll send me an email with tracking number. They did send the email and it says my item shipped today 12/16. I'm not sure if I'll get this in time for christmas. "

"Hello,
I am an active duty Marine. I have been in the corps for ten years. I recently attempted to purchase a camera from Best Price Electronics. For unknown reasons I was request to call them to confirm my order. I did so, however upon calling them, they imediately stated that the item that they stated on their website was in stock, was no longer in stock, and attempted to bait and switch me to a higher priced item and tried very gruffly and ebruptlly attempted to sell me extra items. Due to my stupidity I folded after about 15 minutes of this stress bargening. For unknown reasons the package was returned undeliverable to the company. The package was returned on the 29th of may, I was on leave and was unable to follow up on this package and upon calling the company over ten times, and being yelled at hung up on, i filed a report to the BBB of NY. I then tried to call the business again for an update and see what they were doing about getting a refun of my $1500.00. I was hung up on once again. I no longer have any way of contacting the company for an update due to them hanging up on me each time I try and call. My BBB report info is pasted below.

I do understand that packages get lost etc, my biggest concern is the shady practice of the bait and switch shceme that is being played on many thousands of consumers. I believe this company needs to be investigated for consumer fraud.

As an Active duy DOD member I feel taken advantage of as a servant and a consumer.

The website host is snappydesign.com

Please help.

Hmm... I ordered from them two days ago. Immediately I knew something wasn't right because I got no confirmation email. A few hours later I called, the guy said that the order was processing and that I'd get an email once it got to their shipping dept. 24 hours after I had placed the order I still hadn't gotten any kind of email. So I called them (which was next day) and the guy said that it was still processing and then he asked me (pushy but not as bad as some places) if I wanted to buy a camera card, batteries, etc. I quickly declined as I have been through bait and switch before. I promptly called my credit card company (discover) and they said that if it is fraud that I have to wait ten days to see if the charge materializes. This morning I promptly called bestpriceelectronics and stated that I needed my order canceled immediately, and that I am a reviewer for epinions.com and would cause a big stink if they gave me any trouble. After hearing that, the guy put me on hold for a minute then transferred me to "Kevin." Kevin started asking me what I was accusing them of, I promptly said "bait and switch." He asked me what bait and switch is and so I told him. He then proceeded to tell me that bait and switch is "old school", that they are just a small company and they ship out what people order. The whole time he was trying to reassure me that everything's okay (I wasn't yelling at him or anything, I just kept telling him that I wanted my order canceled), he kept telling me not to make a big stink over it, that he would cancel my order right away if that's what I wanted. So he wanted to make sure that I got the email stating that my order was canceled while I was on the phone, which I did receive. He reassured me that I will get an email on Monday with a refund transaction ID. We'll see... If not, I'm calling him up and my credit card company.

The reason I fell for bestpriceelectronics.com in the first place is because I was in the market for a Pentax K-x and their price was only a small margin below reputable sites like buydig.com, etc. And there are only positive reviews for it on 2 total on resellerratings.com and 27 on pricegrabber.com. I guess I shouldn't have fallen that easy. Scary, scary. I'd much rather pay $50 than be on shaky ground.

Every time I have called them I could hear other phone operators in the background doing the total bait and switch and being very pushy. "YOU NEED A MEMORY CARD... YOU NEED BATTERIES... YOU NEED THIS AND THAT..." blah, blah, blah.

If you look at the information godaddy shows for the website, it looks mighty shoddy to me. And sure, maybe their site is "perfectly" secure, it's just secure in the hands of the bad guys. When I saw this: http://www.sitelogr.com/s/bestpriceelectronics.com I wondered how this place could stay in business, but now I know... this place is linked in with primo cameras and all the other scamers.

My advice: ignore all the positive reviews on pricegrabber.com and steer clear from this place.

I'll let you know if I actually get my order canceled Monday.

I purchased a camera from them, they pulled the bait and switch, and somehow they still suckered me into buying from them. The item valued at $1500.00 shipped but for unknown reasons was returned to them. I have waited since 29 May for the package to return to them so I can get a refund. I waited a month and got no response from BestPriceElectronics, so I called them, they were rude, and after many many calls (over 10) I was yelled at belittled hung up on. I turned to the BBB and filed a report. They will no longer even try and cary on a conversation with me. I contacted the shipper to try and investigate however the USPS only has basic information with no nitty gritty details. My next plan of action to try and get a refund is wait or the BBB to get back to me from my report, in the meentime I am going to research their hosting service and ensure the host of their website understands that they are supporting a bait and switch opperation as well as shoddy customer service. I am a United States Marine and feel that these people should be shut donw, for taking advantage of not only civilians but folks in the Armed services. WHATEVER YOU DO don't buy from these guys, use amazon or some other proven trustworthy source.

One word…….nightmare!. Please for the sake of your peace of mind, DO NOT BUY from Best price electronics. They are simply scammers. I was so blind, and stupid to try buying from them. Actually a friend of mine introduced me to price grabbers, and that was how I knew about them.
I wanted Nikon D7000 and their price was about 100 usd lower than that on amazon website( I shop and trust amazon). Anyway I did place my order and wanted the camera in 3 days. A few hours after I placed my order, they called my cell phone while I was at work and they were too pushy to sell me batteries, camera case and all sort of items.
After 3 days I was worried because I did not receive confirmation e-mail, no tracking number. It was at this point that I realized that I have gambled with my 1569 usd, and I became more worried when I learnt that the company was a few miles from where I work in Brooklyn NY. Anyway after the 5th day and no camera and all funny excuses from them, I went online and wrote a very bad review about them. They immediately called me several times and promised that the camera was being shipped and will be delivered in 24hours. I waited all day for UPS and there was none coming.
I called them back, told them that I was a physician and that I have enough money to fight them legally! I demanded for refund and told them I will stay online until I see a cancelled order in my e-mail, which I did see, and within 2 days my account was credited. I have abandoned that particular account that I used for the transaction because of fear of my card being misused. I reordered the camera from amazon on a Thursday and on Friday the next day, I received my camera.
Lesson: Please and please, stay away from these guys. They sound like criminals and scammers. Spend the extra usd somewhere else, and get your item on time without having to be humiliated by people whose morality has been sold to the devil!

BestPriceElec, Best Price Electronics rep has responded

“Dear Sir or Madam,
This letter is in responds towards the complaint filed against our company by Mr. Judd. We apologize for any consumer poor experience that may had resulted from the transaction. Mr. Judd contacted our company May 20th towards a transaction of Nikon D7000 camera with 7-9 business day ground shipping. Mr. Judd called our company confirming his purchase on May 22nd in which our sales rep offered package deals to best suit his budget. Mr. Judd agreed towards a 15pcs Nikon D7000 camera package which totaled at $1549.99. As noted on our website our company confirmed the transaction with Mr. Judd verbally and processed the transaction within 2-3 business days from ordered date. On May 28th our company shipped Mr. Judd’s order and emailed him a United States Delivery Confirmation 9471 0102 0079 3690 6625 90 which can be tracked via www.usps.com.
On May 31st Mr. Judd contacted our company stating he never received his delivery and was very irate with our staff. We understood his warrant for concern and assured him that either he received his package or get a full refund if it does not arrive. The same day Mr. Judd contacted our company we placed an insurance claim with the United States Post Office to investigate Mr. Judd’s claims. Our company informed Mr. Judd that we are actively investigating the whereabouts of his order and must wait 7-10 business days for a resolution.
Mr. Judd continued to insult our staff and threaten to post negative comments about our company because he wanted a refund immediately. What Mr. Judd failed to understand is that the missing package must be declared missing by the United States Postal Service prior to our company proceeding with reimbursement towards credit card account.
Bestpriceelectronics.com did nothing illegal and tried to resolve this matter as fast as possible. However, there are processes all companies must encounter prior reaching a final resolution. As of June 6th Mr. Judd was given a FULL REFUND in advance prior to the United States Postal Service reaching a conclusion. In fact USPS called Mr. Judd today (June 14th 2011) requesting a notarized letter declaring he never received the online order (see attached email from Mr. Judd).
This illustrates by accommodating an irate consumer believing it shall resolve the matter at hand amicably is just a false hope. Even after we refunded Mr. Judd’s credit card in full towards the transaction his negative remarks & complaints against our company had never been removed.
Please keep in mind had the United States Postal Service delivered tracking confirmation 9471 0102 0079 3690 6625 90 to Mr. Judd, this correspondence would had never been discussed. Furthermore, we are a customer to the shipping carriers as Mr. Judd is a customer to us and there are guidelines to follow prior to reaching a resolution. Finally, with Full Refund issued the concern is resolved and we apologize for any poor experience resulting from this transaction.”

"I've had less than favorable experiences with other Brooklyn-based retailers in the past, but decided to give Best Price Electronics a shot based on their generally favorable reviews here. My mistake!!!

I ordered a NEW Sony Nex-5 outfit from them. On their website, they clearly state that "all items are brand new" and "come with USA warranty" unless otherwise stated. The listing did not say it was gray market, and I even called and was told that all their Nex cameras were brand new and came with USA warranty.

What I received today was an unsealed (i.e., Open Box) package that had been clearly repacked before it was shipped. There wasn't even a seal present. Even more egregious was the fact that there was no manufacturer warranty card in the box. If their intention was to sell an open box item with no manufacturer warranty, then why didn't they list the item as such?

I refused to buy expensive add-ons they tried to sell me when I called to supposedly confirm my order, and maybe this is what you get from them in return.

There are a lot of things to love about Brooklyn, and Best Price Electronics is not one of them.

UPDATE: Got a call from the manager who made things right.

"I am mystified how this company makes money.

I placed an order for a dSLR on 8/13/10, a Friday, based on Best Buy Electronics (BBE) web site's promise of hassle free shopping and the advertised price a Canon T2i. On Monday, I received a call to confirm the order which tried to up-sell items (EXPENSIVE batteries, etc.) which I refused. I was told that the product should arrive in two weeks.

By Wednesday, I still had not received an email confirming that the order was "in process" and I became concerned. I had expected (perhaps I am spoiled by)an Amazon.com-like efficiency which was lacking.

Several more days passed with still no confirmation email and I began to Google for consumer issues reported for BestBuyElectronics.com. I found ResellerRatings.com and read of BBE's alleged association with US1Photo (Danger Will Robinson).

Based on ResellerRatings' BBE/US1Photo reviews, I called BBE's customer service (CS) number, multiple times, that next Monday (which was the mid point of the anticipated two week order fulfillment interval)and got "answering machines". Now I'm REALLY concerned as this appeared to be the pattern (lack of order confirmation and stringing customers along) reported for US1 Photo.

I persisted calling until Wednesday when I ultimately connected with someone at their CS number after hours. This person said that the T2i product was on back-order and should be available by that Friday (the end of the original two week interval). The difficulty connecting with CS aside, I understand that delays happen and, for a good price, I can accept the delay - not a problem. I followed up that call with an email to CS requesting a confirmation when the product should be available for shipment. CS's reply email said that the back order would be at least two more weeks which was inconsistent with what I was told on the phone. I canceled the order.

Back to my original sentence - How does BBE make money? Their advertised prices are very good and that should provide a volume of orders. Their ability to actually fulfill orders, based on my and other ResellerRatings.com reviews appear --- casual. Is there fraud or just poor order fulfillment?

I was inconvenienced by this order delay but my credit card was not charged. However, based on ResellerRatings reviews, I am uncomfortable that BBE now has access to my credit card information."

"FRAUD!!!!!SCAMMERS!!!! LIARS!!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!
I placed an order for a Sony Alpha DSLT-A33L & Lens kit on 12-20-10. Two days later I was contacted by James @ ext. 505 trying to sell me an extended life battery for $149.00 in the beginning I accepted the offer when he told me he would throw in a carrying case worth $49.00 if I purchased the battery. After about 10 minutes of thinking about the price of the battery I called James back & told him to cancel the battery that was added to my order & send me the original order. He agreed and said my order would be shipped within 24 to 48 hrs.and I would receive a tracking number in an email when my order was shipped , the website clearly states that they offer free shipping for 7 to 9 days. Well on 12/30/10 I still have not received an email with a tracking number, after making countless calls & leaving countless messages...still no phone call from them. Finally I catch James & as soon as he realize who I am he puts me on hold for 42 minutes, finally he comes back to the phone & transfers me to what he say is his supervisor named Russel. When I tell him about the tracking number that I never got he states it's because they don't have the product in their warehouse & it had to drop shipped directly from Sony and he provided me with a BOGUS confirmation number that he said was for USPS because they shipped the $622.00 camera regular mail (imagine that)! After I checked the USPS website to track the package I found out the number was no good. I then tried to contact Russel by phone & email but, of course he never responded. Finally on 1/4/11 I called Russel @ ext.506 & he answered the phone, when he realized who I was he immediately put me on hold & said "I'm going to let you talk to the owner" I was on hold for 56 minutes & they hung up on me. A few minutes later I received a call back from Simon @ ext.501, he stated that he had to put a trace on the order & it would be 14 days before he could send me another camera out because they didn't have the money to purchase another camera from Sony until they were credited for the "LOST" one that they sent out. But, every salesman did offer to CANCEL my order every time I talked to them. Simon told me he would call me on Friday 1/7/11 to give me an update. Needless to say I never received a call from him so I called his extension over & over until I got someone @ that extension, when the guy answered the phone I asked if it was Simon & he said "No this is Reggie, How can I help you?" I said that I need to talk to Simon concerning my order, he asked for my zip code & said "You don't have it yet?" He then ask if I want to cancel my order, I told him that I wouldn't have made the order if I didn't have a need for the camera. He then said "We don't have one in the warehouse right now. But, if one comes in on Monday I will ship you one out" I asked if you don't have one in your warehouse, why are you still offering this item for sale on your website his reply was "It's for people who wants to wait. But, we can cancel your order or you can wait, that's the best I can do." So when I asked what was his direct extension he said "501" I said Simon said that was his extension number he then said "Either he or I will answer that extension." As of today 1/8/11, I still have not received my order. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with online shopping. If I had done my homework I would have never wasted my time & money with these LIARS!! I believe some of these reviews are BOGUS just like the company!! After I read this post I realized exactly what I was dealing with:
