"BEWARE! They are bunch of crooks that run a multitude of related and ever-changing on-line stores based in Brooklyn NY. Their "too good to be true" prices also attracted my attention. However, I did my homework before ordering:

My advice: call them BEFORE placing any order and you will find out exactly what I did: if it's too good to be true, it probably is.

"This store runs a scam where they advertise cameras for a very low price calling it a "sale", allow you to place an order and then, when you call to confirm the shipment has been made, they unload the truth for you. Here is the conversation I had with a salesman with name (alias) Victor:

Victor (no introduction, no greeting): What's your order number?
Me: It's 'so-and-so'.I would like to make sure the shipment has been made as I have not heard from you guys and I paid for next day air.
Victor: One moment...We need you to verify your shipment address with your credit card as it's different from billing.
Me: I never had to do this before, and I often have goods shipped to a different address... But OK, I'll do that. Will you then ship the camera today?
Victor: OK, so you ordered the Canon Rebel XT... Do you want any memory cards with it?
Me: No.
Victor: Any batteries?
Me: No, the camera should come with a battery as they always do.
Victor: No, this one doesn't. Are you familiar with what we are selling here?
Me: Well, I thought the US package on this camera includes the battery.
Victor: The US package cost more. This is body only, that's why the price is so low. The battery would be an extra $160 (or so).
Me: I'd like to cancel my order please.
Victor: OK, but have you seen sellers with prices lower than ours?
Me: I have seen sellers more reputable than you, that's for sure.
Victor: Are you saying we are not reputable? Are you saying we are running a scam here?
Me: Sure seems like that.
Victor: Oh yeah? Well, I'd like to see you say that to my face, you...
Me: You bet I would.

Click.
So I've learned my cheap reseller lesson - don't be fooled by low prices from crooks such as BestPriceCameras.com. And make sure you call your credit card if you did cancel an order with them. I wouldn't bet on them not trying to charge it anyway."

"AVOID AVOID AVOID -
We read all the complaints on this site about Best Price Cameras but saw on other sites where they were a "Trusted" seller and thought to ourselves, we only want a camera body and will avoid all the high pressure sales pitches to get the good price so we called them.
The conversation went somewhat like this:

US: Hello, we would like to buy the new Nikon D3 body only and have a few questions before purchasing.
Them: No Problem, How can we help?
US: Is this a grey market camera?
THEM: No, this is the American Version
US: and the price is $2649.00 ???
THEM: Yes Sir
US: Is the warranty a Factory Warranty?
THEM: Yes, it carries a 1 year factory warranty
US: Then we would like to order
THEM: Sure can I transfer you to our order department???
US: Sure, Thank you.
We were then transfered to a new gentleman with whom we asked all of the above questions a second time and received all the same answers. At this point, we felt comfortable ordering and gave them our credit card number for the order. This is where the conversation took a turn for the worse.
THEM: and would you like our extended warranty?
US: No Thank You
THEM: Do you need any Lens's with your purchase (trying hard to sell us a few but will omit that conversation)
US: No, We currently use a NIKON D200 and have all the lenses we need.
THEM: Would you like the battery or charger for the camera?
US: (having already researched battery and charger options and asked their price for a battery & Charger in an earlier phone call (WAY WAY Over Priced)) - No, all we need is the camera
THEM: Would you like the viewfinder for the camera?
US: Viewfinder??? What do you mean Viewfinder???
THEM: well, unless you have the viewfinder package, there is no way to look through the lens or see the photo you have just taken.
US: Isn't there a Screen on the back of the camera for viewing the photos???
THEM: NO - That screen is also part of the Viewfinder upgrade. You are just buying the body only.
At this point we canceled our order.
Now anyone that knows anything about cameras (Especially spending money in the $1000's) knows that a viewfinder? and a display LCD come standard on any camera purchase, body or otherwise.
He then proceeded to tell us that we were only buying the camera body, no viewfinder, no LCD, and it was a plastic body, not the magnesium body on the American D3 (Didn't we ask if it was an American model earlier - see above).
We Hung up the phone and called the credit card company who is issuing us new account numbers and new cards.
WOW - Avoid this company like the plague."

"I ordered a Nikon D40 package over the phone which totaled around $900. I canceled the order the same night and actually talked to someone who was very nice (surprisingly). He told me he canceled the order and would send me an email with the confirmation right away
The next morning I check my mail, and guess what? No email. I call them again, and talk to Ken (what an ass) and he tells me that the computers are slow and I have to be patient. Next day, no email. Day after that, no email. I call again and again and get no where.
Yesterday, the package arrives on my door... nothing I even ordered! Wrong package, wrong amount of money charged.
I call this morning asking for a return authorization number... wait on hold for 20 minutes... and finally get on the phone with someone from customer service. He tells me I need to confirm I was the one who ordered this package and that the conversation was being recorded and would be sent to their credit department. I confirmed the amount that would be credited back to my account and proceeded to ask for a return authorization number. He wouldn't give it to me and instead asked me "Where are you going to find a better price?" I asked what his name was and for the return authorization number and he gave me neither. I told him if he wouldn't give me that information, I would contact my attorney. He still wouldn't give me any information.
I have contacted the Better Business Bureau. Next step is the attorney.

Do not get involved with this company."

"Had a feeling that they were playing a bait and switch but decided to give them a try. Placed the order on 1/2/2007. Called on 1/3/2007 as their e-mail suggested. Was told it was being processed and would be confirmed shortly. As of 1/4/07 No information, so e-mailed. Got a reply saying to call in. Called in and got the upsell routine. When I declined, they confirmed the order details and the ship method - wanted overnight. After "checking" the system it won't be available for a few weeks.."Would that be a problem?" he asked. When I said yes, he hung up. TERRIBLE COMPANY"

"I bought a Canon Eos Rebel XTi Package. They lied about the camera battery and batter y charger. I was told it didn’t come with them. They offered me a buy one get one free on the battery and memory card. I didn’t get either one. I was also supposed to get a flash with the package and it didn’t come either. And of course the tripod wasn’t in the shipment either. These guys are the biggest bunch of liars I have ever talked to. Good luck getting someone to talk to you!"

"The product they try to sell is just the body or shell. Nothing is included. If you do not add battery or cables, the product never ships. Stay away from this vendor."

"This is the worst online transaction I have ever been involved with. Period. Nothing comes close.

After my dealing, I did the research and found this. Everything everyone else said is true. I told them I wanted to cancel the order and they said they would charge me 10% to cancel, even before they had put in the order to the CC company, which is clearly illegal. It is unbelieveable that this company is allowed to do business.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BESTPRICECAMERAS.COM. YOU WILL BE RIPPED OFF AND WISH YOU HAD NEVER CALLED THEM.

I wrote Cnet, Sony and a half dozen other companies and sites about this experience. Buy anywhere else."

"I should have gone to this website first. Even after contacting them advising that I wished to cancel, I have not heard from them. I did call customer service and they told me it had shipped already and I received a tracking number. However, the number is non-existent in the records of UPS or Fed-Ex. Now I'm wondering if I will even get the Epson Powerlite S4."

"After doing research into camcorders, I decided to purchase a Canon HV20. I did a search for best prices and found, on the web at least, that this company had a 5 star rating. I now believe this to be fraudulent.

First, after placing the order, I researched this company for myself and found many complaints about products not being shipped until you actually speak to a person at Bestpricecameras. When calling, you are told that products won't work unless you also purchase batteries and chargers, etc. I became worried.

Well guess what? The email came to me stating I had to call bestpricecameras to talk about my order. I was told that the only thing holding up my shipment was they needed the CC security code number. I, stupidly, gave it to them. I was then told I had to purchase a battery to make the camera work and that it would only cost $120 or so dollars. I knew I was caught in the routine I had been warned about by so many other buyers.

I told the person to cancel the order. No good byes - just silence. The end. I immediately called the CC company and cancelled my card. This too was advice provided by fellow purchasers who warn us about these things.

I have seen reports that after cancelling an order with these people that fraudulent charges begin appearing. I can't say this to be true, but I DID CANCEL MY CARD!!!

My advice is to not deal with these people!!! In all my years of Internet purchasing, I have never run into people like this. I have purchased TVs, computers, etc. in the past. Its a shame that people like this give Internet sales a bad name."
