reply posted Dec-28-2011 “We, at Bellamai, sincerely apologize for this occurance. It is in our terms and conditions that products must be checked upon accepting the delivery. It clearly is stated on the document that must be signed by the customer that if you choose not to check the merchandise, that you waive all rights to claim it damaged.
In this case, the merchandise was not marked damaged and therefore we at Bellamai Furniture could not claim it as freight damage, nor as a manufacturer defect because of the customer not checking the merchandise upon receipt.
We did offer the customer a significant discount on replacement chairs, but the customer would not accept it.
Please note: when dealing with any furniture company, check the merchandise upon arrival. Most furniture companies have this same policy.
