"I have to write about this experience. Thursday, March 14 at 2:30 PM Central / 3:30 PM Eastern, I called Beach Camera about a Canon G2. I told the salesman that I was interested in the G2, their accessory kit and the 5 year warranty but that after shopping around on the net I had found several places with better prices. He said hold on a minute. When he came back he had a price within $40 of the price I had wanted to pay. When heard that he split the difference and we made the deal. I asked for over night shipping. He said the cutoff time was 3:00 PM but he’d see what he could do. I was sure I wouldn’t see it until Monday or Tuesday at the earliest but Friday, March 15 at 1:30 PM I had my package in my hands. All brand new, factory fresh, just like they said it would be. Happy? No, I’m ecstatic! Beach Camera will be getting more of my business."

"Outstanding!!!!!!!!! I was completely satisfied with this transaction!! Dont let the few bad comments steer you wrong, I was leary when I read them but my order was received 4 days after I ordered it in perfect shape!!! Great company!!!!!!!!!!!!1111"

"I purchased a camera from them at a good price. My card was declined and they called me to let me know, plus held the order while I sorted things out with my bank. They were polite and the shipping was nice and fast. The packing was done very well also. Overall I'm very pleased with this company."

"I purchased a Nikon F100 and Nikon 50mm 1.4 lens from them both with full USA warranty, quick delivery, and the lowest price I could find. Customer service was pleasant and I will buy from them again without hesitation. Great people to deal with."

"Excellent service. This is the second camera I purchase from these folks, an XL-1s. Last year 10/01 I purchased a GL-1.

The delivery arrived as scheduled, their prices are excellent and their customer service is superior as they contact you by phone to verify your purchase.

I recommend them anytime"

"item purchased: Canon Powershot G3 on March 12
item received: March 17

i have never opted for mail order purchase for an item of this significance ($$), instead opting for the peace of mind that comes with buying from big-box retailers in my hometown. thus, i was somewhat apprehensive with this purchase.

after daily monitoring of prices and store ratings, i choose Beach since it had a good combination of price, reputation, and relationship with the manufacturer (Canon folks told me that Beach is an authorized dealer).

i ordered via the Beach website and tried to arrange for delivery to my workplace, which was an option on their web site. after placing the order, i was called by Beach the next day and was informed that they could only ship to my home address since that was my credit card mailing address. still unclear on that issue, but i agreed.

i was never pressured to buy other items, accessories, or warranties. i called on March 17 morning to ask about the order/delivery status and was told that it would ship "later that day". only a few hours later, i received a call from my wife telling me that delivery of the camera was attempted but couldn't be done since nobody was home at that time. so, i picked up the camera at the local Fed Ex office that evening. odd that Beach didn't know (or look up) info about when the item was actually shipped.

everything was in proper order and i'm enjoying the camera a great deal. overall, no complaints regarding Beach.

my advice is similar to others who post here: if you know exactly what you want and are prepared for a potential "bump in the road", you can save a lot of $ buy ordering from Beach. overall, i would recommend. if you want high levels of customer service, don't care too much about potential savings, or want immediate possession of your merchandise, opt for your local big-box retailer."

"Ordered Canon Powershot G2 on Friday 3/27/03. Was told it would arrive 7-10 days. Got it on Wednesday 4/2/03. Great service, and the second lowest price on the web. Had to call customer service concerning a credit card issue, but everyone was knowledgable and friendly, and the minor problem was corrected promptly. I have to say, that after dealing briefly with another company named B----i.com, (who said they had the camera in stock, but when I didn't want any of their accessories, it was backordered for 4 weeks), BEACH CAMERA is a true bunch of professionals. Would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone."
