"I received a bra/undies set from Bare Necessities as a bachelorette gift. The undies were a bit too big and the bra box contained a pair of undies too...so I sent them for an exchange.
1st problem: true exchanges can't be processed, only refunds and re-purchases. I didn't want to bother the friend who sent me the gift with having her credit card refunded and then recharged. However, I found a sweet customer service person who wanted to help me with this little wrinkle by doing the exchange manually herself.
HOWEVER, when I sent my return to customer service, c/o this woman, with a VERY CLEAR note inside of what I needed, apparently the returns team processed it as a normal return ANYWAY -- and my friend was refunded. Then there was some issue, and my exchange was never processed.
So Bare Necessities essentially stole back my friend's gift. And didn't contact me. And told me there was nothing they could do. This is 2011. How can it be so difficult to process an exchange?!?!? I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE, EVER, and neither should you."
"Disastrous. They basically stole one of the items I ordered. Bare Necessities had a promotion - buy 2, get 1 free bra. And free exchange if the size does not fit. I ordered 3 bras (nursing), and sent one of them for exchange. In a couple of weeks they sent me an email saying that this style is not available. Period. No attempt to replace or give money back. Once you say, "excuse me, how about bra?" they told me that a) they can't get me that style, b) they can't get me money back because they treated that particular bra as a free one, and they can't replace it with a different brand. All they can do, is get me another NON-NURSING bra. Which I don't need because I am a breast feeding mother. So, I bought three, but only got two items. And Bare Necessities simply stole the third one. Horrible customer service, completely unable to resolve any issues. "
"I purchased 2 bras. One of them I was not sure about the fit, but Bare Necessities advertised free return shipping to try a Chantelle bra. So I thought I had nothing to lose. Bare Necessities is not honoring their promotion!! I have emailed them a few times and their repsonse was if I used the return shipping lable I would be charged $6.95!! I asked about their no risk try a Chantelle bra promortion and have not heard back from anyone. I am reaaly disappointed!!! I thought they were a better company than that. I had told my friends good things about them, but now I have made sure my friends will never purchase from them. To not honor your own promo... VERY BAD!!!!!!"
"It was my first time shopping at this webstore and the whole experience was beyond excellence. I placed my order and about an hour later, I realize I wanted to change an item in my order for something else I found. Their customer service line was only open during certain hours, so I sent an e-mail to them instead. The next day when customer service was back on business hours, they fixed my order and sent me a confirmation that they replaced the item I had wanted to change. Usually online merchants would refuse to do this because the order was in process or some other reason, but I was able to do so with BN and I felt so appreciative. My order came and my items were protected in ziplock-type bags and wrapped in tissue paper. It was overall an excellent shopping experience. I usually complain about merchants here, but this merchant has done so wonderfully that I felt I should share compliments about them. Thanks so much BN!"
"Excellent selection and stock. Prices were reasonable. The products I ordered were shipped on time and arrived on time. The items were wrapped in nice tissue just like you see in fine boutiques. One nice addition...they let you check the option to have gift receipts packaged with the order. That's rare for a mail-order company. I give them the highest marks and would shop there again."
