"My brother received a cd in the mail around march, thinking nothing of it he left it in the spam bin at our house. Then in mid may they send a bill saying that he owes $29 for the cd and some service agreement.

When I called the customer service to inquire about how they got the info of a kid who is 10 years old mind you. The came up blank, they were more intrested to get their cd back and not answer the question.

After asking if I had gotten the cd which I said I had, they told me to ship it back(like I would waste pose for some POS) with me paying the postage.

I said that I would send the cd only if they sent an RMA package.

I really gotta wonder how these people stay in business if they have "Open Billing"(As the CSR said). Why anyone could sign anyone up for service."

"I had, for the most part, been satisfied with my BMG membership. LIke others here, I used a unique email alias for my membership, I also now receive a LOT of spam to that email address. I have since closed my account and will eliminate that email account. It isn't worth a few cheap CD's to wade through the spams, especially when they claim not to sell or share your information. "

"Sound and Spirit (BMG) sends email with "monthly selection" to buy or decline by going to their website and clicking on "no thanks" within your account. Just one BIG problem, the words "no thanks" no longer appear. I have contacted them several times about this without success and they keep sending the monthly special unrequested.Calls and emails to them appear to go through to India or the Phillipines and only "stock standard" answers are received which bear little resemblance to the questions asked.
They do not make their telephone number readily available. This is an extremely devious company."

ResellerRatings.com TOP REVIEWER!

"I signed up for BMG's 12 for the price of one offer; not much to say.

My application was accepted within 5 days, and before 10 had passed my order was shipping.
Though it was only a partial shipment, as some of the discs were on backorder, I can hardly complain considering the price.

So far, so good- very satisfied.
If I post no further updates, you can assume all continued to go well :)"

"When I do business with a new merchant I create a unique email alias (like 999bmgmusic@myprovider.com). Most never receive any mail except from the original merchant, but out of over 100 unique aliases, my BMGMUSIC address ranks about #4 for amount of spam. Ads for electronics, DVDs, pharmaceuticals, auto and home loans -- it gets them all. I've never used/listed/typed that unique address anywhere but on BMG's web site. BMG obviously sells their customer email list to spammers. I'll never do business with them again.
I wonder how much of the paper junk mail I get is because BMG has my street address."

"This is definitely the worst online shopping experience I have ever had. They send you CDs you did not order and hope you pay for it. I regret that I didn't search this fraud shop here in advance. They sent me the CD again that was already in my first order. I only did one shopping on this store and that will be the last one. Other problems with BMG are very slow customer service response, no answer to you question/service requests, bad online search, very limited choice of CDs.

The lession is never file your card number with any untrustworthy shop. "

"I ordered from them and got a really sweet deal! They're great to use if you make sure you pay attention to what happens. It ends up being about $4.50 per CD!

The problem arises if they don't have a CD in stock or such as that they just cancel it and make you order another one. Plus their customer service is horrible if you ever need it.

If you want a great deal and don't mind the hassle, then use this company."

"After waiting the "maximum" shipping time of 4 weeks, plus the additional week they ask customers to wait before inquiring about a missing shipment... I still have not received my order. I requested that it be resent via faster shipping, at no extra charge, or that my original shipping charges be removed. Their only response is that they are "unable" to do either. My original shipping charges were removed, BUT I was then charged for shipping of the replacement shipment.

I find their customer DIS-service to be completely disgraceful, and I will be returning the entire shipment and cancelling my account."

"After I fulfill my obligation, they still send me the reply card and ask me to rely before the deadline, otherwise they will send me the feature selection automatically. This is really bad idea. Why should they sell something to consumer when counsumer nerver ask for? Another bad thing is they don't have representive to talk to, no phone number, only e-mail. "

"At first I was very happy with the deals that BMG offers, even though shipping is slow. I also returned an unwanted feature selection without any hassels (I wouldn't trust these guys enough to let them keep my credit card on file though). However, I still hadn't fulfilled my membership agreement a few months after I joined, so they sent me an email saying that if I ordered one CD using a certain promotional code, I could fulfill my membership agreement and also get buy one get three free on that order. So, I enter the code, purchase a CD, pick out three free ones, then redeem two of the four remaining CDs from the newly fulfilled membership agreement. The catch is, they automatically give you 10% off your first order, so that CD didn't fulfill my membership agreement (it's not at regular club price). Then, they ship me two CDs and charge me $20, when I was expecting to get three free selections with my order of one CD, and tell me that they can't send the other 4 until I fulfill the membership agreement, even though two should have been covered by the CD I just bought. So, I email customer service (there doesn't seem to be a phone number for them) and they send back an email basically saying that it is my fault for not ordering my free selections at the time of purchase but they'll do me a favor and let me order them anyway, just this once. To do this though, I have to respond to the customer service email or send another message through their order and billing issues page, which all seems a little shady. Who knows if I can get the CDs. Furthermore, I wanted this month's featured selection, fulfill my membership agreement, and be done with them, but I realized that there is no way to make a featured selection full price. Also a trick since that is the first thing that people are likely to purchase and they discount it by about $2. If you're like me and you join just to get the free CDs, be very sure that you aren't getting discounted anything on the first CD you buy."
