I placed an order with Autotoys on 11-22-09, on 12-102-09 I contacted them via email asking them on the status of my order as I had not received it. They responded by telling me that my order was on secure hold, and requested that I send them a copy of my credit card information, I replied and asked why this was necessary as the Payment was made through PayPal and had already been paid to them and charged to my credit card, and asked why it was on hold. They replied "We have problems with large orders and addresses like yours being fraud. Since you already placed an order with us before, we will release the order. Sorry for the delay." Note this was the second time I had ordered from them.
I replied to this email and asked if I could have the products sent via Fedex, and offered to pay the difference. They have yet to respond to that email.
As it was approching the holidays I gave them a few few weeks before I contacted them again. I sent another email to them on the 13th, 14th and 19th of January 2010 and have not received a response to date. I contacted Paypal to file a claim only to realise that 45 days have passed and they will not open a claim. so here I am out to sea. I will contact my Credit card Company and try to get my money back that way. I will never use Autotoys again!!. Note. My order status still says Processing.
Update:2nd February 2010
It turned out that my order was still on hold, and the owner contacted me directly and pushed through my order for me. I got it on Friday 29th January. The personal touch has changed my opinion of the store, and I will shop there again. My advice to the management of the store is to get a Telephone service which customers can use to contact the company, so things like this would not happen again. Just got it today, IT IS AWESOME! I finally can listen to my iPod in my Accord. It is amazing, I am really happy with this and 75 bucks was a great deal!

The autotoys website was very easy to use, and very informative. Almost all of my questions were answered by the description before I bought the PXAMG and Ford harness. The price was fantastic. There was a great value over the manufacturer's price. The shipping was nice and speedy, and the items were intact and as advertised.
The products themselves work exactly as expected, and all of the directions were easy to follow and execute. Once I had the PXAMG installed, I was unable to control my ipod through my stereo controls. I simply went to the tech support forum and followed the included directions given by autotoys and found the solution. I needed to flip an extra dip switch for my vehicle type.
Overall, everything was wonderful. I have no complaints, only praise.

This company has been impossible to contact. They state on their website that "We answer all e-mails". This is absolutely untrue.
I made a purchase on 12/2. On 12/5 I received an e-mail stating that one item was no longer available. I responded within 5 hours asking them to cancel that item, credit my PayPal account, and ship the remainder. That was the last I've heard from them. The order stayed in "in processing" status for 3 more weeks.
I've e-mailed them 4 times since, and have never received a reply (except for an automated acknowledgement). With each e-mail, the company opened a customer support ticket. Each of these tickets was then closed out by the company with no contact to me or explanation.
I posted a thread on their website forum. This was deleted within 24 hours. Still no contact to me. I know they're looking, otherwise they would not have deleted my post.
On 12/24, my order status was changed to "failed". I don't know what that means. Still no contact to me, and they have not credited my PayPal account. I've opened a dispute with PayPal.
Again, they state all over their website that they respond to all e-mails. This is simply NOT TRUE. Stay away. There are plenty of other vendors out there selling the same stuff and who offer customer service.

On 12/26 they issued a full refund through PayPal. I still have never received a response to any of my e-mails. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. This review was modified by its author, timstan, on

The product I ordered was received in a very timely manner and was all Autotoys web site had stated. I consider the purchase a total success and would certainly be willing to return and do business with them again.

Buyer be very aware by doing business with these folks. I was charged $28 shipping and handling (for a $20 order) and received my parts almost a month later. This was NOT the post office's fault; these guys managed to take over 2 WEEKS to ship my package. I inquired on the status after the week and a half (I normally get packages within 3-5 days) and they said they had just shipped it and that there aren't any tracking numbers. Plain and simple lie folks: a week later I get an email notifying me that USPS has received the package from the vendor and they provided me a tracking number.
I was furious. I requested a refund for the $28 charged to me for shipping and handling (it was literally a couple lb small, plain, box). They referred me to their terms and conditions stating that their "may" be delays in their shipping. As an excuse, i don't buy that. I can write "this product may suck" in my small print but i wouldn't expect that to get me off the hook for anything. They ignored my request for a refund as well as my request to talk to someone over the phone. Over email as well, these guys stopped responding to me.
These guys are very rude too. I've done a lot of business with online vendors and these guys have the WORST customer service i've ever seen. Rude, condescending, and curt. I will NEVER EVER do business with these guys again. If you need a car part, i'd suggest getting it from anyone else but them. I wouldn't buy from them again if everything was 90% off.

Not sure where to start, but bottom line up front: I have shipped to APOs many, many times from many different companies and not once have I had to wait for a package longer than 10 days. There is nothing complicated about it...nothing. USPS, UPS, FedEX...no difference. I know because I frequently ship from APO to the US. Visa versa with friends and family. And contrary to what was said, yes, actually most vendors DO ship to APO addresses. I haven't met one yet who hasn't.
To Autotoys: I suggest you take the opportunity to significantly streamline your shipping process. Chasing every bad review with excuses, and disclaiming responsibility for everything under the sun in your hidden conditions and terms is not the solution to your problems. Accusing your customer's of "lying" and "misleading others," when in fact they are not, is a pretty big foul in my opinion.
I reiterate my point, buyer beware. And if you have the slightest bit of dissatisfaction with the service from autotoys, re-read their reply below, this is what you have to look forward to.

This review (an US POSTAL order) wants to MISLEAD you into thinking a few things (which do not apply to 95% of our orders which are UPS/FEDEX), let us CLARIFY.
First, this order is not the ordinary order. It is a POSTAL (INTERNATIONAL ORDER). It is not an UPS/FEDEX order.
We actually welcome this post because it further clarifies our US POSTAL which is ALL " POSTAL (NOT UPS OR FEDEX" shipments will have delays.
UPS and FEDEX shipments ship IMMEDIATELY and usually for FREE (see http://www.autotoys.com/x/pages.php?pageid=8 )
Most, 90+ percent of online merchants will NOT ship "Internationally" . and NOT to PO boxes or APO/FPO military. APO FPO boxes are International. A "merchant" like us shipping products have to DECLARE and INDIVIDUALIZE products for customs. A "citizen" will not have these extra steps when shipping postal.
** WE SHIP POSTAL INTERNATIONAL **. BUT THERE ARE LIMITATIONS and DELAYS (for US POSTAL ORDERS) and we ANNOUNCE this for US POSTAL ORDERS.
The shipping fees we charge are usually around $10.00 for shipping via UPS or FEDEX
As a matter of fact, we offer FREE SHIPPING (Non-Postal) and we ENCOURAGE all of our customers to use the FREE shipping if they qualify, 95% orders are shipped FREE.
Do we charge EXTRA to handle postal orders, the answer is YES.
We do, because "AS A MERCHANT SELLER" it requires so much MORE WORK than an UPS/FEDEX order. POSTAL requires MORE work so we charge handling for it.
It is not as easy as printing and entering an UPS label. It slows our day, it creates extra work for investigating country of origin, weights to each product and much more extras.
The shipping for this order WAS NOT HIDDEN.
It is well displayed. The charges were DISPLAYED during checkout (again, fees are for POSTAL orders, for FEDEX/UPS orders, shipping is either FREE or around $10.00).
In addition to this, when you SELECT US POSTAL,
a gigantic link in a "24 point font is DISPLAYED and links to our terms for POSTAL which tells you clearly that we DO charge EXTRA for POSTAL
Did this "US POSTAL" order take a long time to process? Yes. But it is POSTAL.
All of our UPS/FEDEX orders are processed the same day & shipped VERY QUICKLY.
Postal orders require EXTRA work, customs forms, country of origin, and a LOT MORE. If you are buying via US POSTAL, we display this (like we did to this customer) DURING checkout with a ** HUGE 24 POINT LINK **
reading "DELAYS WITH US POSTAL SHIPMENTS, READ TERMS AND CONDITIONS" –
We do not hide it, in the open DURING checkout so you can make up your mind. We ship out POSTAL in batches. It may take up to 7 business days (2 wks) in extreme circumstances or more and this includes the time we process, customs, call for a pickup and the time it is picked up.
WE DO NOT HIDE THIS. All "US POSTAL" orders have DELAYS. The customer was made aware of this. UPS/FEDEX orders WILL NOT have these delays. Shipped immediately.
So the bottomline, if you need something from our catalog of 12,000+ products which we have presented in our 16+ years online (since 1994) & need it shipped POSTAL, we CAN DO IT.
Not like other retailers, we can SHIP INTERNATIONAL POSTAL, but yes, there WILL be DELAYS, and there will be HANDLING charges.
We do not 'chase' bad reviews, only reviews which clearly do not state the facts. Yes: US POSTAL shipments will be more expensive and will have delays.
NON US POSTAL shipments have NO delays, and are usually FREE. These "US POSTAL" terms are also not "hidden" they are visible in more than one area during checkout so everyone shipping postal can understand our US POSTAL shipping terms.
If you order via FEDEX/UPS, you will pay around $10.00 for shipping or get it shipped FREE with no handling charges if it qualifies over $100.00 orders and have NO DELAYS. (see http://www.autotoys.com/x/pages.php?pageid=8 )
TRACKING for US postal orders: As we write during checkout and for anyone who didnt know, there IS ** NO IN TRANSIT TRACKING for PRIORITY or GLOBAL PRIORITY US POSTAL * packages. * US MAIL does NOT offer ANY IN TRANSIT tracking for priority or parcel packages *. No tracking # for "US POSTAL" can be provided since there is NO SUCH SERVICE *
If you order via UPS or FEDEX ("not" US POSTAL), you WILL get a tracking # and this is automatically emailed to you and also you can check for it online.
We are GLAD TO SERVE people who need their products shipped Internationally, to PO/APO boxes, or via POSTAL mail and understand our POSTAL terms which are clearly displayed.
We welcome customers who do not need US postal shipping and can get their shipments without delays via UPS and fedex and pay little or no cost for shipping.

Drove to several local stores, and could not find what I needed. AutoToys had it. Reasonable price, and the item arrived quickly. I've already installed it in my vehicle, and it works fine. Thanks.

After seeing this part on Amazon for over $80, decided to keep looking and I found the part I needed for $10 plus shipping on autotoys.com. I am completely satisfied with the part wil return for my auto and truck needs.

Actually, this customer is lying.
All of his emails were answered quickly and as a matter of fact, we answered all of his installation errors (and answered all his technical questions) on a remote start install in DETAIL in our customer forums. We had an answer in detail for all his technical questions when his remote start did not work and answered his questions IN DETAIL in our forums (which is where we suggest you post questions on installs so others will benefit, not via email)
