"It's the first place I go to find out about other's opinions on merchandise, especially books. Great shipping service and great customer service. The only down side is if you use their free shipping option. I think they purposely delay that to encourage you to place an order and use their regular shipping. If you can stick it out and wait, then free shipping is the way to go. Be prepared to wait a few weeks for your stuff to arrive even though the items say they ship in 24 hours. I find that they have some of the best prices in the electronic things I need. And there's no tax! Just shipping charge, so place a consolidated order and save. If you select 2nd or next day service, they really expedite your order. Usually, it's UPS that drops the ball.
My experience is based on having ordered over 160 unique items from them over a span about three years. As for reviews, I've written a bunch but have found that they edit them to their liking so there's some sort of censoring going on, which I have to live with. All-in-all, it's a great place to shop and I don't have leave my home. They've kept records of every order I've placed and I can recall them to see what I paid for an item or when I've placed the order. Frankly, I don't know how they make money on some items.
This is an update. It's been five years since dealing with Amazon. I've since wrote to them about the delay in their supersaver shipping and since that time, they've been treating my orders in a timely fashion, usually only taking an extra day to ship 24 hour items. Many times, the items are shipped the next day and arrive a day early via UPS. I've commended Amazon for working well with UPS. You've gotta give them positive feedback too. I've always been satisfied with their friendly customer service and I still wonder how they make money."

"Purchased a Logitech Cordless Optical Mouse & Lexar 128MB,12X CF card for only $97.83 total. Free shipping and $20 off deal. Pricing on CF card was awesome as it retails anywhere above $120 by itself. The mouse retails about $65. Couldn't believe price I got for both. Shipping was a little longer than a week but no comlaints(free) and the fact it has to fly over to Hawaii. Thanks Amazon. Watching for the next best deals daily. "
