"I booked four international flight tickets from Airfare.com referred by Kayak on May 6, 2013. The price was unbelievably good, less than over $100 each in comparison to most other websites. The the electronic tickets were issued almost one day after the reservation. But that was not the worst. After one more day, I found that all tickets were voided and they charged a lot more on my credit care, without my permission and without ticket! Totally a nightmare!"

"Airfare.com has perhaps the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Although they have a strict cancellation/change policy written in bold print, I still decided to call them and ask what my options were for changes. I should have known better. The rep was curt and condescending. Horrible experience, horrible policies. The prices are not even that low.

Don't shop Airfare.com"

"This rating is meant to be a zero -- why the 1 star obligation?. I wish I had read the ratings on this website before my extremely problematic bout with Airfare.com that has not yet been resolved six months later: When I tried to confirm the flight purchased through Airfare.com, the airlines told me that my ticket did not exist. At the same time, my credit card company sent me a fraud alert email concerning this purchase. Since then, I have been disputing the charge per my credit card company's advice, but this still has not been resolved half a year later. In the mean time, I was not able to make my trip as planned, at untold personal/relational cost. I have been flying for almost 40 years and have never encountered the types of inextricable problems as I have with Airfare.com. No discount is worth such an ordeal. This company should be illegal, maybe they already are? "

"They will charge you a fee for paper tickets (mine was 95$) even if you will never need paper tickets. Don't bother contact them about this, it's a maze just to get through to someone.

Otherwise, it was ok, all my flights were correctly booked, but if I had had any problems, I'm not sure support would have been great.

All in all, I would suggest you use this company only as a last resort, if the price is still cheaper than other sites even after the "paper tickets" scam."

"I am relocating to Europe and purchased my ticket through Airfare with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), for October 1st (ZDRQ5C). Because I am relocating, I have to take my pet (dog) with me.

After booking the ticket, SAS informed me that they can not accommodate my pet for the second part of my trip (Copenhagen to destination) and that I should change my flight to September 25, when they had enough room to accommodate both me and the pet.

I know it's Airfare rule that they don't handle pet issues, so all I asked of them was to change my flight to September 25. They first ignored my request (sent through phone and email) and when someone finally called me, told me they can not make the change because it didn't show in their system. I told them the flight exists as SAS recommended it, and they said they will take care of it.

But Airfare did not handle my request for change for almost a week, so I decided to just cancel my flight since no one was taking care of my request. So I again called and emailed to cancel my trip. I had previously purchased insurance on the ticket through Travel Guard (on Airfare website) - which did not specify at the time of purchase that clients are only covered on health and natural disaster issues. Travel Guard agents told me they need proof of cancellation from Airfare so when I emailed Airfare, I also asked for a receipt confirming cancellation.

Only 2 weeks after sending in that request, I got an automated email from Airfare asking me to download a cancellation form from their website (nowhere to be found). When I called to do it over the phone, the agent hung up the phone after yelling and talking over me - not the first time this was happening. They kept repeating that my ticket was non-refundable, without listening to me telling them that that was something for me to take with Travel Guard and that all I needed from them was an email confirming cancellation due to their inability to move my flight to September 25.

I called them back to ask to speak to a manager and they gave me a faulty extension to enter to get to someone; then I called again to ask for the contact information for the President of the company and in response, the representative asked me what is my nationality and why do I need this information. When I proceeded to ask him what was the relevance of my nationality to the conversation, he hung up.

Even if I am to have to take the bullet and pay for the whole thing, I will make sure everyone knows how poor customer service they have; that their tickets are non-refundable and that the insurance provider that is advertised on their website is a scheme to make people pay for a service they will actually never be able to claim.

If you look at their homepage on their website you will notice that even their address is misspelled "Washingtion" - should be a first flag to warn people off about how "professional" they are."

"Airfare is a scam.. I bought an international ticket (international flight) which was cheaper than the original price of the airlines itself. Then Airfare (Airfraud) called me a week later telling me your payment didn't go through and it's not our fault, so either you pay more or we can give you your money back. So I went back online to check the rate of the tickets at that time, and since there was less time left for my original flight time, tickets were too expensive and price went up, with more stops. So I had no choice!!!! When they emailed me the bill it still shows the old first price before adding the last payment they asked for??? And they charged me twice so I had to talk to my bank and cancel one of the payments."

"I foolishly booked tickets on Airfare.com several months ago because of a deal that seemed too good to be true. The flights were overbooked and changed multiple times without my consent, leading to unacceptable changes to my itinerary. On several occasions I tried contacting Airfare.com's customer service to see about alternative schedules. When I was finally able to get through, I was told I would have to pay several hundred dollars in change fees because the changes were out of their control. Finally my flights were changed again without my consent, resulting in an impossible transfer that departs over an hour BEFORE I arrive. After multiple calls and agent agreed "that won't work" and promised to call me back once he spoke with the airline. I am still waiting for a resolution, the flights I need are sold out, and I'm leaving tomorrow for an international trip without any idea how I'll get home. The discount was definitely not worth the hassle or the deplorable customer service."

"the worst experience ever. Stuff is very unprofessional and rude. Charges are very high. Also, they lie and double the fees for their profit. Highly recomment to avoid this site for any business."

"Wow, I really wish I had seen these reviews before I used these jerks. Booked a flight to Bali in 9/2010. Made it the first leg of the trip, and at our second destination (I forget where it was now, it's been so long), the airline told us they had no record of us. I showed them my confirmation and they said they didn't do business with that company. Were totally scammed. Luckily, they had seats left on the flight so I bought 2 new seats. Called the company afterward and they did nothing. I can't believe they're still in business."

"One of the worst customer service departments I've ever come across. All of their support staff is overseas, speak very bad English, don't do anything to help you but simply answer your question with the least amount of information possible!

This is the first and LAST time I've ordered using Airfare.com. Disgrace! If this is their means of maximizing their profit, best of luck, because it won't last long ;)"

"I wish I had seen these reviews prior to booking my flight to Brussels from New York. Same thing happened to me. I booked the fair for $803.87 and received a confirmation and a success transaction, only to arrive at the AA counter the day of my flight and be told that they had tried to contact me and that they had needed additional information on my credit card, however that was not true. I never received any type of notice from Airfare.com of any issues. I was then stuck having to pay $2,203.00 in order to make that flight. NEVER EVER USE THESE GUYS. I currently made a complaint with AA since they use Airfare as a sponsor and should have some kind of liability and Airfare's number is always busy or theres a voice message system and no one ever returns your calls."

"If you can, avoid airfare.com. These guys changed my flight but neglected to tell me. Then when you call in, they refuse to take responsibility and force you to wait for an absurd amount of time. I actually timed it to 1 hour and 38 minutes of wait time. You are actually waiting on the phone for the length of a feature movie.

They also don't give refunds on their gaffes, so beware of that as well. Don't believe me? Call these gems and ask them if any of what I'm saying sounds like a lie.

"I booked a flight through airfare.com. I noticed that no charge had gone through on my account, so I contacted my bank, the airline, and airfare.com only to find that my reservation had been cancelled and that the problem was with airfare.com. Their customer service was awful and they ultimately were completely ineffective and did nothing to solve my problem. They mentioned that they had attempted to call me, despite no calls showing up in my phone history as received or missed, suggesting that this is in fact a lie. It also does not make sense that they would not attempt to email me if the calls weren't going through, suggesting they are incompetent.

As a result, I have to spend an additional $400 for my flight as the fares have gone up. This company and their service are awful and I will not use them again. I strongly advise anyone thinking of using them to do the same. "
