"I researched systems and vendors thoroughly before deciding to purchase a NAS system from eAegis.

I ordered a Thecus N7700PROv2 NAS system online from eAegis and specified capacity of HDDs, number of HDDs, and RAID configuration. They telephoned after I submitted the order to verify my specifications. Then they set the system up exactly as specified, tested it functionally, performed a 48-hour burn-in test, and delivered it in good working order on the date promised.

The fundamental setup completed by eAegis simplified the remaining site-specific setup work, so the NAS was up and running relatively quickly. It has worked flawlessly since. What more could one ask?"

"We've had nothing but a positive experience with this company.

From the first time we ordered, and onwards thru several other orders. Even when there was some issues that really were beyond their scope, they helped as much as they could.

There's been no "funny business" with any of my dealings. They tell you everything up front, and that's ACTUALLY what happens!!!

They're my preferred vendor for NAS/SAN devices, offering a good variety of solid products that cover all the bases we could even consider, and the pricing is not padded with unnecesary add-ons.

I would recommend them without question."

"The sale went fine but the Thecus product that I bought is not functioning as well as expected. I bought the n8800Pro because we had previously purchased the n7700 and it worked fine but now both of them are more trouble than what it is worth. I lost a RAID 6 array in the N7700 and now a RAID 5 repaired itself with missing or corrupt data. The ACLs got all screwed up and now can't access the folders.
The new N8800Pro had troubles from the start working with Windows 2008R2 AD. The ACLs don't work when you set them up inside the Thecus. I had to go with Public folders to make it work. (No Security Anymore)
I don't think that I will be buying Thecus anymore."

"Our company has been an eAegis customer for just under 4 years. I found them when I was looking for a QNap vendor and all others I tried were quite unhelpful. From the first time I called and directly reached John Banks, he/they have been extremely helpful both in advise and courtesy. While continuously helping me outfit our NAS and storage solutions, they have never once pressured a sale or tried to up-sell me, while in fact on one occasion cautioned us from making a purchase until a newer and better version of the product was released soon thereafter. John has patiently extended me hours of technical support both in presale planning and in post sale troubleshooting over the years. The others I have dealt with there give me the impression that they have a great team who are passionate about quality products and service. I would highly recommend them over any other vendor for the types of storage solutions they deal in."

"The entire process was very pleasant. I was informed of exactly where the product was and testing being done and I knew when to expect it to arrive. It arrived in perfect condition and well packed. Could not really ask for any more."

"They are quick and knowledgable about the all aspects of the the products they sell. I had an older drive fail on my array. They immediately knew the hardware history of the drive and my system and shipped me an updated set of drives overnight. THANKS!!! "

"Eaegis was very helpful to our organization when selecting a model and brand of storage device for our new network. I was concerned that our goals and budget could not be met. We saved 10's of thousands of dollars by not over purchasing beyond our requirements. We are very happy our new NAS. Thanks Eaegis."

"eAegis sells some of the industries most affordable network attached storage devices at a fraction of the cost of other brands, or even the same brands. Their employees are helpful and thoughtful and will help you select a storage unit that fits your needs like a glove. I can't recommend them highly enough."

"Well the purchase and delivery experience was great, but their website had a misstatement on the system specifications (stated CPU faster than it really was) and they blamed it on the manufacturer. The manufacturer's responded quickly to my question about this and showed me where the correct specification was on there site and it matched the product, so I don't think it was the manufacturer's mistake. Eaegis didn't offer me any compensation or anything. Also, they failed to tell me the product had a $150 rebate when I bought it. Maybe they don't have a burden to do this, but jeez it's like 12% of the product cost and they do carry the product. You'd think they would know. When I found this out it was past the 30 day submission deadline. The product works well and they did get it to me in a reasonable time and I do believe they burned it in. Customer service is not the pristine quality other reviews here would have you believe though. If anything happens to the product under warranty I don't plan on going through them, I'll go right to the manufacturer.

Update: Regarding the vendor response comments to this review, I never contacted Eaegis about the rebate because I just recently came across an August rebate form accidentally online. When I contacted the rebate agency they told me it would have been covered by my receipt, but it was too late. So all these comments about telling me about the rebate are fabrications. Regarding the system specifications, Netgear never acknowledged to me that they had posted bad specs. I do agree Eaegis made that claim to me. But look, if I sell something to someone and misstate some aspect of what it is, I'd feel some culpability and make a proposal of some kind and not just blame it on someone else. After all if I made the advertisement it would be my word at stake. A few years back I bought a laptop from Newegg that was missing a feature they had advertised. I sent them email just to let them know and even though they couldn't change the product, they went out of their way and sent me an external item that did the same thing. Now that was five star customer service."

banksie, eAegis rep has responded

“We are sorry to learn you have experienced issues with our service.
The unit you refer to is a NETGEAR which when we used to sell and support we used to integrate by buying diskless models from NETGEAR and install drives, then test for 48hrs prior to shipping. As explained when you called before we did not mention the rebate as the rebate did not apply to systems that are integrated by resellers only those supplied via NETGEAR as ready integrated by them. The latter option was offered with a rebate from NETGEAR but cost some $1200 more than the system we were selling, so you got a great saving by buying from us, hence it was a lot more than the $150.00. So, the matter of compensation does not even arise.
All the product details and specifications are copied directly from NETGEAR pages and they indeed used to have the incorrect CPU frequency but then changed it and we missed to change it. The reason was simple NETGEAR made an early error and we followed through, it happens. As you can see, we no longer sell NETGEAR as both companies have mutually agreed not to continue doing business with each other. We did afford a perfectly clear and simple explanation and hence we are more than puzzled as to why this review has been posted as it seems we have not provided you with a satisfactory resolve we did and you did not intimate anything else but that. Feel free to call us please if you wish to discuss this further. I have traced back our response to you the same day as you wrote. It seems NETGEAR confimed it was 2.6GHz as well so it was more of a typo by both NETGEAR which filtered to us, but they confirmed the indeed shipped with a 2.6GHz process. So we are very confused as to what you expected us to do, when the ReadyNAS PRO 6 was supplied as per manufacturer specification. This transaction was in August 2010.

Response to Update:

Response to Update:
We have sent email/s to you proposing to resolve privately so the misunderstanding can be resolved, which we thought was resolved when you called and emailed us shortly after purchasing. We have not had a response form you at all. You sent us an email copy of NETGEAR confirming it was 2.6GHz and not 2.8GHz, the fact that it was actually as per manufacturing to be 2.6GHz it seems your complaint about being advertised by us and few other resellers is a little moot. As far as the rebate is concerned you stated you were told you would have been eligible to $150.00. We are certain you would not be and we are adamant when we built from diskless and install drives there are NO REBATES from NETGEAR. If you can prove by way of NETGEAR affirming you were eligible based on the UPC code on your outer box as well as unit (RNDP6000-200NAS), which then became RNDP6310-200SIN after we integrated drives into it, then we would be prepared to pay you the $150.00(rebate) and if you are not we will accept a public apology. That is what we call standing behind customers and the products we sell.”

"A few years back I bought a raid system from eaegis. I did not know anything about raid systems and or management. With the help of the team at eaegis I was able to make a back up system that I did not need to worry about. Know that it is two years later and hard drives have more storage, eaegis was once again able to help me select the best updated drives for my raid box. I could not be happier.
Thanks eaegis

John Kent"

"I have been an eAegis customer for about 6 years and I would never buy a NAS from anyone but them. Their prices are great, and they give superb service... before, during, and after the sale. The only downside is you have to wait a few days for your order so they can build it and burn it in to make sure everything works. So if you need instant gratification, you probably want to buy from someone else. If you want the best service in the industry, and to be sure that what shows up in your order has been thoroughly tested and configured, then go with eAegis"

"This is an absolutely great company to deal with. I had never heard of them until I was referred to them by an acquaintance. I had a lot of pre-sale questions and they were more than happy to help me and did so extremely quickly I would definitely recommend them and will certainly shop from them in the future."
