The unit you refer to is a NETGEAR which when we used to sell and support we used to integrate by buying diskless models from NETGEAR and install drives, then test for 48hrs prior to shipping. As explained when you called before we did not mention the rebate as the rebate did not apply to systems that are integrated by resellers only those supplied via NETGEAR as ready integrated by them. The latter option was offered with a rebate from NETGEAR but cost some $1200 more than the system we were selling, so you got a great saving by buying from us, hence it was a lot more than the $150.00. So, the matter of compensation does not even arise.
All the product details and specifications are copied directly from NETGEAR pages and they indeed used to have the incorrect CPU frequency but then changed it and we missed to change it. The reason was simple NETGEAR made an early error and we followed through, it happens. As you can see, we no longer sell NETGEAR as both companies have mutually agreed not to continue doing business with each other. We did afford a perfectly clear and simple explanation and hence we are more than puzzled as to why this review has been posted as it seems we have not provided you with a satisfactory resolve we did and you did not intimate anything else but that. Feel free to call us please if you wish to discuss this further. I have traced back our response to you the same day as you wrote. It seems NETGEAR confimed it was 2.6GHz as well so it was more of a typo by both NETGEAR which filtered to us, but they confirmed the indeed shipped with a 2.6GHz process. So we are very confused as to what you expected us to do, when the ReadyNAS PRO 6 was supplied as per manufacturer specification. This transaction was in August 2010.

Response to Update:
We have sent email/s to you proposing to resolve privately so the misunderstanding can be resolved, which we thought was resolved when you called and emailed us shortly after purchasing. We have not had a response form you at all. You sent us an email copy of NETGEAR confirming it was 2.6GHz and not 2.8GHz, the fact that it was actually as per manufacturing to be 2.6GHz it seems your complaint about being advertised by us and few other resellers is a little moot. As far as the rebate is concerned you stated you were told you would have been eligible to $150.00. We are certain you would not be and we are adamant when we built from diskless and install drives there are NO REBATES from NETGEAR. If you can prove by way of NETGEAR affirming you were eligible based on the UPC code on your outer box as well as unit (RNDP6000-200NAS), which then became RNDP6310-200SIN after we integrated drives into it, then we would be prepared to pay you the $150.00(rebate) and if you are not we will accept a public apology. That is what we call standing behind customers and the products we sell.”
"Eaegis was very helpful to our organization when selecting a model and brand of storage device for our new network. I was concerned that our goals and budget could not be met. We saved 10's of thousands of dollars by not over purchasing beyond our requirements. We are very happy our new NAS. Thanks Eaegis."
