"I bought a Canon S30 from their site. My payment and order were processed quickly, with reasonable shipping prices.

The item arrived in a couple days, on time, well packaged, and- so far- in perfect condition. This part of the process went very smoothly."

"I have purchased from Adorama about 10 times in 18 months. Total of all orders, about $15,000. I've purchased two digital SLRs, about 10 lenses, and many accessories, tripods, flashes, lighting gear, etc.

I always "do my homework" about purchasing. I pretty much do my own research (dpreview.com, photo.net, robgalbraith.com) on products, and also use resellerratings.com to check up on vendors I consider.

Adorama and B&H are the two giants of NY mailorder. I have found Adorama's pricing to usually be attractive, not the rock bottom lowest, but then I wouldn't buy from the low-price leader. I don't mind a vendor making a decent profit, just earn it with truthful pricing and service, on-time shipping and service/returns/support.

I have had no problems with Adorama in about 10 orders.

My order technique has always been to use the shopping cart on the website, and then email the contents to my sales rep at Adorama. (He just happened to be the guy I talked with on my first phone order). He very quickly (much less than an hour) puts in an order quotation which their AS400 system emails me. He then calls me. We discuss items & in-stock status, any additional discounts (I push and push), he tries to sell me filters in exhcange for big discounts (which I pass up nearly always) -- for some reason all NY mailorder photo shops push filters and extended warranties! -- and we nail down the order.

Once I confirm the order, if it's before about 3-4pm E and not Thursday (closed Friday), it usually ships same day. Later in the evening, Ado's AS/400 system emails the same order document, but with shipping information and remaining order status (if any B/O's).

I have always been pleased with Adorama. My sales rep has never misrepresented the in-stock status of an item. If it's out he tells me. If it's expected in 3 weeks, he tells me. And that's fine, just be truthful. I haven't been disappointed.

Ado runs an efficient order system, which supports automated email notifications of quotations, orders, shipments, etc.

I have been pleased with the order process and the successful orders I have done with Adorama. No problems.

"I ordered a Canon PowerShot S45, a spare battery, and a case for the camera. The order was placed online. The only glitch was that I received a call that there was a problem with the order, but when I got the salesman on the phone (assigned by the company) he said everything had gone through. I assume that he was just wanting to get a shot at selling me something else, but he did not use high pressure tactics. The order was filled properly, the prices were good and Adorama's selection of photographic equipment is excellent. The package was delivered in good condition and on time, and I was able to track its progress through a UPS link they e-mailed to me."

"I am alway nervous when ordering online just because I don't get to see the person selling the product face to face. I found Adorama from a digital photograph forum. They had the lowest price on the internet for a Canon S45. I called their phone number to confirm the item was in-stock before I placed the order online. The camera was shipped that same day and arrived in three business days. The camera was in perfect condition. I was very satisfied with the purchase. As a tip, learn as much as you can about the product you are ordering, check discussion forums for recommendations, and read reseller ratings. Finally, if the company calls you back to confirm an order but really is just trying to pressure you to buy more things, cancel your order right away. Adorama did none of that. They just sent me what I asked for."

"While not the rock bottom price for what I was purchasing, when I called because of a mistake I made in the order, I was able to speak with someone immediately and they fixed my mistake within a minute. It is comforting to see that my order was known right away and that they expect to ship it today (as opposed to two weeks with dell for the same item)."

"Adorama is one of the few shops (or the only shop) who accepted pre-orders on the Olympus TCON17 teleconverter. I pre-ordered it together with the Kenko 55-55 adapter tube which was also out-of-stock.

When the TCON17 finally arrived, my order was immediately shipped. I then decided to cancel the Kenko and it was promptly cancelled.

All transactions and communication were done through the internet.

Adorama is prompt, prices were not lowest but company reputation is top-notch. Will shop there again."

"I bought a pair of binos. I was a little worried at first, but now I don't know what I was worried about. All of my questions were answered promptly and accuratly. The salesman was a little pushy, but hey they have to eat too. I just politely ended the conversation and ordered off the internet using the salesman id. Great Company!"

"This was my second order with Adorama. My first order (1498726-01) was for a Gitzo Tripod Bag and Bogen Carbon 1 Monopod. My order was placed over the internet on Sunday 5/18. I received confirmation and shipping/tracking information on 5/19. I received my order 3 days later. I decided I wanted a different tripod bag. I called Adorama and Sy said no problem send it back. I sent it back and they received it on 5/29. The credit was issued on 5/30, I've never had a credit issued that quickly.

My second order was for a replacement for the returned Gitzo tripod. I placed it on the Friday before Memorial day and received it the following Friday. I was notified on Tuesday the shipping/tracking information.

Both my orders could not have been handled any better. I would definitely recommend Adorama to all my friends.

Oh... My original reason for ordering from them was their prices were lower then any of the other major (reputable) internet resellers.
