"I ordered an Eye-One Design monitor/printer calibrator from this store through Amazon. It was advertised as a "low price". What I received was the Eye-One Display 2 calibrator for monitors only, and the price I paid was actually very high. When I complained, they said that the Eye-One Design was not in stock and that the Amazon listing was a "mistake". Yeah, right. This is your classic Brooklyn boiler room operation playing the old bait-and-switch scam. I reported this to Amazon, but Amazon couldn't care less. So much for Amazon's "A-to-Z" guarantee. I left negative feedback for this store on Amazon and Amazon deleted it ! Sounds like some complicity there. I've made my last purchase from this store and my last purchase from Amazon. STAY AWAY FROM ACE PHOTO DIGITAL !"
"I ordered a small xD card reader from Ace Digital through Amazon.com. I recieved a different model number than I had ordered and sent an email inquiring about a return or refund. I was told that the model I had received was the replacement to the other model and was not offered a refund or return. Since the product functions as I wanted (even though it's much uglier), I decided to not pursue the matter further.
I gave them a 3/5 (neutral rating) on Amazon.
I then started recieving calls and emails from an Ace Digital representative. While I generally appreciate a customer service rep who tries to solve my problems, this was not the case here. The rep tried to bribe me into removing my Amazon feedback (offered me a $5 Ace gift certificate for future purchases and a "direct line" to him at customer service, but didn't offer a refund or replacement.) When I told him I thought my rating accurately expressed the transaction, he got kind of pushy. Needless to say, I never recieved the $5 gift card. Over the past two months, I've recieved 3 emails, and seven phone calls (four voicemails, answered and spoke on the phone with them three of the times). Note that many of these were after I asked that they stop contacting me during my second phone conversation. "

"I was very pleased with the ease of ordering and the quickness of delivery. I would like to take this opportunity to comment on your customer service. I delt with Estee in that department. I'm sorry I don't know her last name. I have to tell you she was excellent. She sympathized with my problem, knew what to do to fix it and helped me with all my questions. If you give out bonuses in your company I would like to cast my vote for Estee. Thank you Estee for your help!!!! I will definitly do business with Ace Photo again and again. I'm a great believer that Customer Service is the heart and soul of any company and your department is of a very high caliber."
"I purchased an item (camera dust air blower) through Amazon. The order was above $25, and thus, benefited from a free shipment. The seller, Ace Photo & Digital, has charged me shipment fees, and have refused to credit it. Instead, their representative, nathan@acephotodigital.com, is continuously harrasing my wife and I, via email, and lately, late evening phone calls to our home phone number (that was provided to Amazon, but unbeknown to us, made available to this seller).
They are impolite over the phone, aggressive, threatening, and they don't stop the harassment. I strongly recommend that you do not deal with this seller."
"Item Ordered: Canon EOS 7NE body Story: After being burned by high pressure tactics, delayed shipping, and inventory issues with Expresscameras.com, I came upon resellerratings.com and came down to three companies that are rated high with good prices. They are 17th Photo, Digital Foto Club, and Ace Photo & Digital Store. I went with Ace Photo & Digital Store. I called them on 10/20/2005 around 10am. The salesperson who answered was Ken. Pleasant, friendly and direct to the point. No high pressure tactics. He inquired if I wanted an extended warranty. I replied 'No' and that was that. There was no offer for other accessories. I asked for availability of the product and he said it is available. I decided to go with 2nd Day air to expedite. Their shipping prices are also very reasonable. Ken promised that the camera will arrive on Monday 10/24/2005.
Result: I'm happy to say that everything they promised over the phone was delivered. I received the camera today, 10/24/2005. The packaging was good and robust. The camera is brand new and came with batteries.
Other Issues: As good a story this is, there arose other issues. These are concerns that I still have but am still glad that my camera arrived...
- During the order process I was asked for my email so that I can be provided an order status. I never received a single email regarding order status or shipping tracking number.
- Order Tracking on web page did not work. My order number was always invalid so I end up calling them to follow-up on order status. One person who answered the phone said order tracking works when an order ships. My order was shipped on the day I placed it.
- I called Ace Photo & Digital Store but my credit card was charged under Digitalfoto Discount Club.
- I am wondering why there is another name for the same business. Are they hiding something?
- when you call them, they do not introduce the company on the phone line. They just say 'hello' instead of introducing themselves as "Ace Photo & Digital Store, may I help you..."
- The invoice sheet says the camera was ordered from Digitalfoto Discount Club.
- As of this writing, my credit card was charged twice on the same day for the same amount. I called customer service and they requested that I fax my statement. I will do this tomorrow.
- I am wondering if this is a standard practice to charge twice thinking that you don't receive your statement for 30 days. But my statement is available online and I caught this double charge.
- This is my first time ordering from this store and was not sure if the product will arrive quickly had I shipped it regularly.
Bottomline: They promised, They delivered. Although I would buy from them again. I would be extremely cautious with high priced items. I have a problem with being charged twice on my credit card. I also lament the fact that I did not receive a single email notification of order status. BH Photo immediately acknowledges all your orders and gives you a timely update of your orders.
The rating for now on this company is VERY DISSATISFIED because I have not received a credit for $326.82.
I will change this rating to SOMEWHAT SATISFIED when I receive a credit.
UPDATE: 10-25-2005 I found out this morning that the amount was already credited. Quick action! The review would have been very satisfied if not for a few minor issues. I would still recommend with caution. Be ready to make follow-up phone calls. "

"Showed camera "in-stock" but as you could probably guess, no where close to being in stock. 3 days to reply to my e-mail. I come from the newegg.com standard where things ship minutes after I order them. Eventually all of these 2nd tier players will be gone and the newegg's of the world will survive. Good riddens."
"I, too, ordered the X-Rite Eye-One Design as the poster below did earlier this week and received an X-Rite Eye-One Display 2 instead.
The customer service people were courteous, but completely unable to resolve the problem to my liking and satisfaction. The best they could do is refund my order and have it shipped back to them at their expense.
However, I told them to on the phone that I'd be filing a complaint to the Better Business Bureau of metropolitan New York for false advertising and misleading sales practices.
Instead of recapping what happened, I'll just reprint in entirety what I submitted to the BBB:
~~~
To Whom It May Concern,
I had sought to purchase an X-Rite Eye-One Display 2 colorimeter for properly calibrating my computer monitors for color correction in digital photography editing applications like Adobe Photoshop. I knew that I could purchase it off of JR.com (J&R) via Amazon.com's marketplace for $169.99 plus shipping charges. When I did a search for the X-Rite product, I happened to notice that a more expensive calibration device package, the X-Rite Eye-One Design, which retails for an MSRP $995, for a mere $219.99. Instantly I thought this was too good to be true. However, I checked the merchant's seller page and in no way, shape, form or fashion did they indicate that this was not the correct item listed for sale. Other merchants conveniently noted that the device in fact they were selling, on the X-Rite Eye-One Design product page, was the X-Rite Eye-One Display 2. The merchant in question, Ace Photo Digital, had an excellent customer feedback rating with sales exceeding fifty-thousand customers served. I placed an order for the product, the X-Rite Eye-One Design, for their listed price of $219.99 in the early morning on February 4th, and made a record of every related web page in the ordering process--I have Windows XP desktop screen shots of every web page while I ordered as evidence. I will reiterate the fact that in no way was I made aware that the wrong item would be shipped out to me in three days time. When the product arrived on 6th, I opened the shipping package to find an X-Rite Eye-One Display 2, the item which I did not expect. I immediately called their customer service department Wednesday evening when I arrived home from work (shortly after I had received the package). I was unable to speak with anyone or leave a voicemail because their New York store was closed and they did not support that calling feature, respectively. In continuing my effort to make contact with them, I composed an e-mail explaining everything that happened and suggested that they should honor their advertised price and ship out the correct item, the X-Rite Eye-One Design, in exchange for the item they mistakenly shipped. The only response I received last night was an automated one informing me that my e-mail was being processed and will be reviewed within three business days. Unsatisfied, I called today, the 7th of February, expressing my frustration and asked them how they planned to resolve this problem. I was put on hold several times, and after a few calls they told me that someone had listed the product incorrectly. They explained that they meant to list their SKU for the X-Rite Eye-One Display 2 under the correct product description that matched it, instead of under the X-Rite Eye-One Design for the low price of $219.99. I told them it was unacceptable and that they should honor their mistake and let me purchase the item I wanted, the X-Rite Eye-One Design, for their advertised price. They said no and admitted that they do not even carry such a product. I was stunned to hear that for a few reasons: 1) they had the product listed at the $219.99 price point for the entire time my order was being processed and shipped. That night after I had received the wrong item, they still had the X-Rite Eye-One Design for sale. 2) in the morning I checked to see what they would do in response to my e-mail, which would alert them to their mistake. Lo and behold the item was now correctly listed for the more commonly found MSRP $995 market price. I asked them point blank why they would still be selling this item on their Amazon.com marketplace, after having realized it was wrongly listed and priced, if they had just told me that they did not carry it at all! I immediately called them out on a bait and switch scam. Why else would they list a product for a low price, to entice buyers, and then ship out the wrong item? After speaking with a supervisor, the best he could do to console me was to have me ship the item back at their cost. I said I'll do that if they promised to ship the correct item, the X-Rite Eye-One Design, in exchange. He refused. I asked him why I would purchase an X-Rite Eye-One Display 2 for $219.99 from them if Amazon.com sells it for only $169.99! He conceited the point and offered a $50 discount to price match. In my mind, it wasn't fair after I went through all the trouble on account of their mistake in false advertising to give them my business. I made a final offer to have them sell it to me at half price, $110, to fix this mess, but they refused. Finally, I told them that I am filing a complaint with you, the BBB, and Amazon.com.
"I was a little leery about purchasing my Canon Elura 50 from one of those Brooklyn-based camera stores, but I chose Ace Photo & Digital because of their high rating. I received my camera and accessories as promised and in perfect working order and at a great price. I have no regrets about selecting Ace and would recommend them to anyone. The only minor issue I experienced was that I had no idea if my online order had been received until I received a shipping confirmation two days after I ordered. It would be nice to receive an e-mail order confirmation and a way to check the progress of orders on their web site."
"Good service, not the fastest shipping in the west, but certainly not the worste either. I am happy with the products I ordered and with the price that they were offered for. "
"I ordered two 5.25" Pyle Mid Range speakers. I did think $17 was a little steep but not terrible. I didn't know they didn't combine shipping and when I called to ask them about it, their support guy stunk:mad: Just before he hung on me he said in a nasty rude manner that 17 shipping wasn't bad. I replied "Not if you're promising me that I don't get it until the 28th". He then said "Bye, call between 9am to 5pm EST, then a rude click!
What they cut down in price was made up for in shipping. I could have gotten it sooner and gotten great customer support from Parts Express."
