"It is one thing for an online company to have good ratings from customers who purchase a product and have no problems. It is a whole different story when customer service is required.
I recently purchased a refurbished CRT monitor from them. After using it for a few days it started having problems. I called, got a support person right away and after sending him pictures of the screen he had me send it back at their expense. They checked it out for a week and found nothing wrong. They gave me a choice of another monitor, the original monitor, or a refund. I chose to have the same monitor returned. When they were doing a pre-ship test the found a problem with it. They notified me and I chose another monitor. They shipped that one at their cost.
I have just one gripe. Though minor, it would be nice to have an email now and then to update me. Except when an important event happened they did not contact me unless I contacted them first."

"Repeat customer, satisfied until I had a problem. They ignored my request for an RMA for a month. They ignored my emails asking for some attention to the request.

The prices look good, until you find out that the warranties are fraudulent. Buy only if you're willing to live with a DOA because you won't get any customer service out of these guys.

I saw at PriceGrabber that lately they've been pulling the "you must call customer service" trick despite the fact that the website says the exact opposite. This is telling, since it's the only mode of communication that leaves no legal record of the interaction.

If you MUST buy from this company, use EBay for your own protection."

"Not quite 7 months ago I bought a Compaq P1220 from AccurateIT. I could've got one for less than half the cost on ebay but I thought that I had a better chance getting something good going with a refurbished monitor over a plain old used one, plus the warranty was nice. Turns out I was wrong. The first one they sent had some problems with the horizontal size fluctuating and it died within 30 days. They sent me a new one without me having to even send the broken one back which was nice. The second one was ok for the first 3 days and then it too developed similar problems although to a much lesser extent. It's still alive but recently it has started acting weird and I'm afraid it won't last much longer, I hope I'm wrong. I did some checking and found out this isn't an uncommon problem with this particular model (I wish I'd known that before I ordered) so I asked them if they knew why it was doing this and if they could fix it, hoping that since it was a common problem it had a known solution. Unfortunately, they didn't seem to know what the problem is and after getting two with the same problem I didn't think asking for a replacement was a good idea since I felt I didn't have very good chances of getting something better and I could always get something like the first one again..

I think that this particular model has a design flaw so I was bound to have problems eventually anyway. I just feel that if it was properly refurbished it should have taken a lot longer, maybe years, for them to show up. Frankly, I have to question whether these are refurbished at all or just plain used.

On the plus side, both monitors had/have very good picture quality.

Update 3/17/10: Well, despite my fears the monitor is still alive. Now this could be due to my tinkering in the hidden service menu but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and update my review since it lasted way longer than I expected when I originally wrote the review and I felt I may have been too harsh."

"I went to purchase a Sony 24" CRT wide screen, and they were more than helpful on setting up both "A" grade and "B" grade monitors for me to look at. I ended up buying the "A" grade, but over the weekend I realized I missed the razor sharp text of an LCD at high resolution (although the game play was unbelievable on the CRT). I called Monday morning and they allowed me to return the Sony and even waived part of the restocking fee (your mileage may vary). I ended up getting a 22" Dell LCD and was thrilled by the professionalism and felt they truly wanted me to be happy with my monitor selection.
These guys even carried the 92.6 pound Sony I returned out of my trunk and into their store!
I highly recommend these guys - they run a very legit company and work hard making things right.

"I can't believe no one has reviewed this company lately. They are among the best in surplus in my book! A real gem!

While planning anther order, I saw that they also do repairs of audio, video, medical and specialty electronics including items often considered unrepairable. I repaired TVs as a kid, and sometimes fix electronics for friends now because now, because few "repair" shops today do anything but swap out mobos/CRTs/PS modules for big bucks (one told me their insurance didn't cover real high voltage repairs), but from the clarity of the monitors I've gotten, AccurateIT seems to really refurbish/refocus monitors, vs just wiping them off. I'm a serious DIY techie, but if I ever needed something repaired, I'd go to AccurateIT first, based on the quality of their refurb work.

My first order, a refurbed 'grade B' 21" Sony (huge at the time) was under $130 incl. S/H, but looked/displayed almost like new, and years later, it's still sharper than many new monitors. I've bought/referred many times since, most recently a used HP Evo P4 2.6 GHz desktop for my aging father. He's very happy with it: it looks great, and was under $100 incl. S/H!

Another good thing about them: their prices are real (no gimmicks or loss-leader sales). If you buy a monitor, and your buddy wants one, too, after seeing it, he'll likely get the same deal (or very similar) even weeks later."

"Seller provided a great monitor at a great price, and when a problem developed (sometimes stuff happens) they stood by their warranty and handled my RMA flawlessly. This to me is the true test of a company, and they passed with flying colors. I would gladly buy from them again and recommend them to anyone. Thanks again, Scott and Accurate IT !"

ResellerRatings.com TOP REVIEWER!

"It's sooo nice to see a company that cares about it's customers! Customer service is top notch, but you don't pay extra for it like with some companies! I bought a refirbished Dell 21" monitor. It arrived within 4 days and it's fantastic! Also, it was only 70 bucks!"

"I bought a NEC FE791SB, but instead receved a NEC FE770. I emailed the company today and will wait a day or two for them to reply. I probably will call them tomorrow to let them know about the mistake. All in all I guess you could say I am nethier satisfied or disatisfied at the time being. We will see what happens.

UPDATE: They were very friendly about the whole return process. I dont rember the reps name but I think it was Joey, Steve or Mark. They credited my account as soon as I moved. I will change my review to very satisfied. They were great and as a reviewer said below, somewhat better than Newegg. Great service and prices, I will shop here again. Definetly Recommended."
