"I received an e-mail from them to call their customer support line, well before I could call them, one of their sales reps called me. He told me what a great unit I had bought and wanted permission to ship it out right away with a way overpriced SD card. I told him no. He then told me I'd need to protect my investment with an overpriced extended warranty. I told him most electronics have a shorter product life because we usually upgrade before that and that I wasn't interested. He then got a little ugly and told me he'd reduce the warranty price to that of two year and ship it right out, and thanks have a nice day. I told him no, wait a minute I don't want it. He told me they'd have to cancel the order because he'd already entered it into his system. I told him that was alright, I'd be glad to go back and re-enter the order on their web site. This infuriated the salesman and he told me that it didn't matter if I did, that they wouldn't take a new order from me since I had already placed and then cancelled it. I told him I never agreed to buy the SD card or warranty and had only agreed to the GPS. I let him know I couldn't afford the extra's right now and only wanted the GPS. He told me never mind that we're not making any money on this deal and you need to buy one or the other before they'd ship. I told him no I only wanted the GPS. He hung up on me leaving me with the understanding that I couldn't get the advertised price unless I bought overpriced extra's and that my order was being cancelled. I had already printed an order confirmation from the WEB and received an email confirmation from them and have them in my possesion. "

"Wanted to agree with others reviewing this vendor. These guys are definitely bait and switch or take the money and run. Ordered over the web, received the confirmation email asking me to call to confirm my order. Immediately knew it was a bait and switch. I ordered a GPS unit and they advised I had to have a memory card for the unit to work. I declined. They said I should really get an extended warranty. I declined. Then they asked if I wanted to upgrade the unit for ENGLISH. Apparently it was a Japanese unit so it would cost more to get one in English. I immediately cancelled the order and called the credit card company to void the transaction and block the vendor from future charges."

"Ordered a DCRDVD710 Camcorder from TechonDigital.com. A couple of hours later, received 2 emails from them: One saying Call William at ext. 205 at phone number 800-958-0054 to confirm my order and the other saying call James at ext. 201 at phone number 800-958-0054 to confirm my order. I immediately thought something sounded like a scam because of the 2 emails back to back and very poor grammar. But I decided to call anyway. I called the first 205 and a guy answered "Hello", I asked if this was William and he said yes. I told him that I received a couple of emails asking me to call to confirm my order. He pulled my order up and then started up with the battery scam/sales pitch. I told him I was not interested. He said "why not"? I just said no. He persisted. I repeatedly said no! He said "ok then, enjoy your camera, goodbye" I said wait, I want to ask you something. Again he said "enjoy your camera, goodbye". We went through this like 3 times. Finally he said "what do you want to know, hurry up and ask". I asked him why was he being so rude? He said "I'm not being rude, what do you want?" I asked him why did I get 2 emails back to back? He said "I don't know, what does it matter, who cares?" I told him that it sounded like a scam. He said "well if you think it's a scam, cancel your order". I said I don't want to cancel, I just want an explanation. He said "well stop worrying and stop bothering me". I then asked for a manager. He said "I am the manager". I said well I want to speak to another one. He said "I am the only manager there is". I said Ok what is your last name? He said "I don't give out my last name and it's none of your business". I hung up and then called the second ext. 201. A guy answered and it sounded just like the first one, William. I asked who it was. He said "Who do you want to speak to?" I said "Is this James?" He said "yes it is". As he talked more and more he sounded just like William. I asked to speak to the manager. He said "Look the manager is William." I said well I want to speak to someone else, perhaps the owner. He said "William is the manager and the owner. William like GOD. He is very powerful if not more powerful". I hung up on him too. First let me say God is not a scam artist like these people. How dare them to even compare themselves to God. Anyway, that's another topic. After hanging up with this second guy, I called the number again and just guessed an extension. I asked the guy on the other end who it was. He said Andrew. This guy was very polite. I told him that I appreciated his politeness and I told him how rude the other 2 were. He apologized. He looked my order up and confirmed it. He then told me that my camera was on backorder and would arrive in 3-4 weeks to their company and then would ship out to me 5-7 days. I told him that I paid for ground shipping 3-4 business days. He said "Oh, yeah, I see that" You will receive it 3-4 days after it comes in stock. I told him that was not good enough because I needed it to go on vacation. I then cancelled my order. He said ok. Well I didn't trust that they cancelled my order, so after I hung up the phone with them, I called my credit card company and told them what happened. They cancelled my card due to fraudulant reasons. They did check my card to make sure that no charges had been processed in reference to this, and thank goodness that it hadn't. So just in case they do try to charge my card, we cancelled it. Stay away from these people! Online they are TechonDigital.com, but after doing research I found out that they are related to The Digital Nerds. It seems like Broadway Photo is doing the exact same thing. So apparently they are all connected. I think it's really worth it to pay the extra money and go to somewhere like Best Buy or Circuit City and pay more and to know that you aren't being scammed! "

"These criminals have been ripping people off for years. They have been reported to he NY A. General's office time and time again, which does nothing to close them down. They are widely known for their crooked business dealings. Only in NY could they steal from thousands of people for years on end (under various names) and go unpunished."

"Ordered Canon video camera for $568 from affiliate TECHONDIGITAL.com. Classic Brooklyn bait and switch scam. Price very good but when order, they try to sell a well overpriced extra battery. When refused, the item is backordered 5 weeks. "

" ordered a camera from www.digitalnerds.com online, because they had the lowest price listed on everyprice.com. Next, I received an email from them requesting that I call to confirm my order. When I called, first they tried to sell me additional memory for the camera at an inflated price. When I declined they tried to sell me a larger battery at an inflated price. Each time I declined, they offered the extra item at a lower price. Finally after I declined all extras, they told me the camera I was purchasing was not new but, refurbished. Their website did not indicate that the camera they were selling was used. At that point, I told them to cancel the order, which they readily did. Digital Nerds only wants to sell you a new camera if you by their overpriced accessories.

"DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE GUYS. They are as crooked as the come.

Digital Nerds advertised a the lowest price for a camcorder. I placed an order from their site. They sent an email saying I must call to confirm my order. I did so. The guy AGGRESSIVELY tried to upsell me on batteries, etc. I told him I had already purchased a battery.

"You're going to need a bigger battery," he said.

"I've already purchased a battery," I told him.

"You don't need a battery for your CAMERA, sir?" he said.

"Are you trying to argue with me?" I responded.

Indeed he was, because he did it again and again and again. Finally, I had to say "Can I just get the camera that I ordered?"

A couple days later, I received the following email:

Due to the product you ordered being out of stock for 6-8 weeks from today's date. We have cancelled the order . when or if we get the product again in stock soon will send you an email to place an order please do not resubmit your order again . sorry again and thanks for your understanding .

In the end, I was relieved that they canceled. I had no desire to do business with these people. The place is a scam."

"I was calling to inquire about a particular camera. He gave me some info and said I should order now on the phone with his help because they are selling fast. I told him I wasn't ready to order. He replied, "Why are you wasting my time? Do me a favor and never call here again!" and hung up on me. Wow!! Great customer service, uh?"

"These guys are horrible, as described in the many accounts prior to this post. I only added this one to keep the statistics proper and accurate. I found a load of good factual information here, BTW: http://www.sheddingsomelight.com/buy-cameras/list/dealers-starfam.html"
