It is our standard procedure to request a pre-authorization from the credit card company/bank before we process the order. The pre-authorization will confirm that your bank has sufficient funds available. The funds are not actually removed from the account until the order actually ships. For security and fraud purposes, we verify account information when an order is placed. If we are unable to verify the information, the credit card company has us cancel and refund the order immediately (and we then send the customer notification of the charge reversal). If the customer wanted to proceed with the order, we offered a wire transfer as an alternate method of payment. The customer opted to cancel the order. Normally the pending authorization drops from the account within 1-3 business days. We were in communication with the issuing bank and requested to expedite this process.”

For high valued items, we require the order to be delivered to the address that the customer enters when the order is placed. This is a fraud security measure. Orders can be picked up, if they contact us directly to change the delivery method. Abt contacted UPS to arrange pick up for the customer, please note these requests are not instant and may take up to 24 hours for their system to update. We suggest for the customer to contact UPS to confirm unit is available for pick up prior to heading out to the UPS hub. The UPS tracking detailed tracking report shows the order was held for pick up on 3/14 and the customer picked up the unit on 3/15.”

If an order is returned undeliverable, Abt does not charge return shipping or a restocking fee. We have checked the order, and this item did not ship with a signature requirement. If there is no signature requirement, it is at UPS's discretion if they leave a package or require a signature. The tracking detail report shows UPS did not leave the package on their first attempt, but did leave the package on their second attempt. In the future, we suggest to ship to an alternate address where someone will be able to accept the delivery.”
"Tried to purchase a projector and have it shipped to an APO. Received an email the next day saying the order was cancelled. Their page clearly states that they ship to APO but they said that they were unable to ship due to size of the box. I asked the online rep what the dimensions of the package were since she said that is why they cancelled the order, and she was unable to give me an answer. She was able to give me the product dimensions of the projector unit which are 17.6" x 15.6" x 5.6 (W x D x H). She then made up 2 further excuses to try to persuade me that there was nothing that could be done. She said "but the box sizes we ship are smaller than a bread box" and for the next one she said "I'm sorry our business contract is not setup for larger boxes. We are not able to ship this order". Neither reason made any sense. This is nowhere near violating USPS policy as there is no possible way to exceed the 108-130" total allowed by the USPS. I even went to the USPS website and put in dimensions of 35x35x12 for a package weighing 50 lbs(2.5 times what ABT says their projectors' shipping weight is). So they are telling me that a projector needs a box 3 times its size to be able to ship????? Something isn't adding up? Very disappointed that a company is willing to cancel orders for U.S. military personnel stationed overseas. I think they need to take off will ship to APO if they aren't going to ship to APO. I had to put in my APO address to make the order and there wasn't an issue. As a matter of fact, I put in my zip code before placing the order and it reads.....

None of this adds up. Will never try to use this company again and will explain to the rest of my buddies how horrible of a company it is to deal with. Thanks for nothing ABT."
