"I did a search on the Web and came up with need4digital advertising a limited time sale over the weekend, saving me $200. I received an order confirmation almost immediately. After the weekend I called to get a tracking number and was told that it hadn't shipped yet but it only had a 20 minute battery and no software. I knew this was not possible and when I told the "representative" this he said he would cancel the order. I told him absoutely not. I plan to report this business to the Attorney General of the State of New York. I hope people with similar experiences will do the same."

"I was researching the Nikon D3100 camera and came across what was reported to be a great deal on the camera at www.need4digital.com. I ordered the camera on line and was under the impression that I was purchasing the complete camera. After not receiving confirmation, I waited 5 days and called their customer service department. I was told that the camera was back ordered and they had just received a new shipment, although it was labeled "in stock" the day I ordered. When I spoke with customer service, the gentleman was rude and very pushy asking me, "how do you expect this camera to work without a battery?" I advised him that I was under the impression I was receiving the complete camera and that all other sites included the battery. He stated that they are a wholesaler and "that's how we can keep the prices cheap. He advised me that I could get the battery for him for 129.00. I told him I would find the battery elsewhere. He then stated, "well it still wont run because you did not by the firmwear operating system required to make the camera work." I asked how they could sell the camera without an operating system and was told, "because we can." He did offer the operating system as an add on at a price tag of over 200.00 All of a sudden, the "super deal" that was advertised on their web site became more expensive than any other site or even buying it locally by about 300.00. What a scam this company is running. I recommend staying away from this bait and add on company. Their ads are very misleading and their staff is rude and unprofessional. I have notified the BBB, the FBI and several other agencies. This company and those who run it need to be held accountable."

"I placed an order for a Pentax Optio WG-1 for $255. I got a confirmation order email from them. I then waited for over a week and heard nothing else from them. I finally sent an email to them asking for status on my order. I got several replies and a phone call stating that I needed to contact them to verify my order. Of course when I called them, they told me that there was $59 charge for handling and insurance. What??? They told me that this information is listed on their policy page. I looked it up and it states : ALL ORDERS ARE SUBJECTED TO INSURANCE CHARGES DEPENDING ON YOUR LOCATION. Then they tried to tell me that the camera only came with a one time use battery pack and that for $20 extra I could get the rechargeable battery and charger, and upgrade my order to be shipped out that same day via Ground. They also tried to sell me a memory card which I told them I already had ordered someplace else. Their website states that the camera comes with a battery pack and power supply. I was also supposed to get free Ground shipping. Then the final total of my order was going to be $349.99 which doesn't add up properly. I was pretty upset and not thinking clearly at that point and told them to just process the order since I had been waiting for over a week now and it was supposed to be a gift for someone. However, after calming down and thinking about it for a while, I did some researach on the internet and found a better deal. I also spent some time looking at their policy page as well. So I decided to call back to try and cancel my order. After several tries I finally got through, only to be told that I could not cancel my order as it had already been processed and shipped. Then a few minutes later, I get an email from them telling me that I have to contact them about my order again. When I called back again, I was told that my order had been placed on hold since I tried to cancel it. I told the guy on the phone that I was told that my order had already shipped and that I could not cancel it. He said no, you can still cancel it. So I did. They did send a confirmation email confirming that my order was canceled and that my credit card would not be charged. I am hoping that is the end of it. Please do not do business with them!! They have shady business practices. The price on their website is not the actual price you will end up paying. You will be forced to pay a high handling and insurance fee that you will not know the total of until they verify your order. They will also try to upsell you on items that are supposed to come with the camera but clearly don't. And I am guessing that you really don't get free Ground shipping since they try to upsell you on that as well."

"I made the mistake of placing an order. Had to call and they tried to sell me a battery that was not needed for the camera. When I challenged them about it, they immediately said so you want to cancel your order and hung up on me."

"Hello guys theres a website to report a Scam like this, it is INTERNET CRIME COMPLAINT CENTER (ic3.gov) It is one of the subsidiaries of FBI. If you go to FBI website they will direct you to the ic3.gov. I am one of the victim of need4digital.com. We need to tell the authorities the malpractices of bait and switch websites. So if we all send our complaints to ic3.gov we have a chance to be heard. I think this is the only way to shutdown need4digital.com"

"April 11, 2011 - this company is still using fraudulent and deceptive practices. I ordered a Sony Nex-3 for $469 and was told via e-mail I would have to call customer service. The person who answered the phone tried to up-sell me on a filter (fine)... then said the battery that comes with the camera is disposable and no charger is included, but for only $599 I can get the camera with rechargeable battery and charger, and a 49mm multicoated filter. That is $50 over the going price for all other online merchants. Baloney. Their website concisely states that the camera comes with battery and charger. I immediately canceled the order and will buy from a reputable firm. I would suggest not wasting your time, as this cost me 2 additional days on getting this camera ordered."

"MOST VICIOUS BAIT EVER - TARGET DUMB CUSTOMERS
Here is some of the malpractices:
- be attracted by a below average price
- you cannot place an order over the phone
- you will never get a confirmation by e-mail...therefore you call
- they try sell you a battery because what you ordered has a bad one of no battery (??)
- if they fail (I have a battery) they claim that the camera is sold without firmware (sure...they remove it ??? Come on)
- if you claim that you can upload the firmware yourself...they'll put your order on hold !!
- At the end it will be your decision to buy a product at market price...but from a bad company"

"NEVER been scammed so bad before. I buy a lot of things from websites and find that even small companies are above board and honest. Not this one. Just to give you a frame of reference, watch "Don't Mess with the Zohan". The electronics store in the movie operates the same way. Do yourself a favor, buy direct from Sony and you'll still come out way ahead.

Read their policies. They do not give concent to be recorded but claimed to have recorded my call and that I got what I asked for. I should tell you that they will not simply let you order online but you'll get a call to "verify" your credit card. Shipping was 3 weeks and claimed they'd deliver in 7 days."

"I suppose this is me just piling on, but I've had EXACTLY the same problems with this company as everyone else. If you're reading this, and you haven't ordered from the company, PLEASE do yourself a favor and don't. I know that you're interested in the lowest price, but I PROMISE you that whatever you're buying will not come for as cheap as they are "OFFERING." Regardless of what it says, they DON'T do free shipping. In fact, they tried to charge me nearly $90 for "shipping insurance." When I called back to tell him that I thought that was crazy, especially since the order said "free shipping," the rep told me, "well, if you don't like it, cancel it." I had already waited a week, and I called because they sent me an email saying that my wife put the wrong zipcode (apparently they do this little gimmick often). These people are crooks, and we shouldn't allow this kind of crap in our society. They can shove it for all I care."

"Avoid these folks!!!!
I decided to place an order after calling to verify that what I was going to order was the same as offered elswhere for more $. Sounded good so place the order. Two days lated got e-mail to verify the order and billing, which they stated I put in wrong zip and would need to buy the $89 shipping insurance to activate the "free" ground shipping. Also told I would need a battery as the one to be shipped was a single use, not as specified by the manufacturer, of course this additional battery cost was well over the OEM battery offered many other places. I told the rep I talked to to take this order and shove it. I also clarified that that meant to cancell my order immediatly and he hung up on me. I then proceeded to thier web site to cnacell and leave a paper trail so I can verify and refute any charges they might try to stick me with. Waiting for the CC bill with anything on it to show up.
Avoid these shisters any way you can, I don't see how they are sitll in buisness! "
