"What can I say?only bad quality and service."

"I just found your web site as I was researching adding to my camera gear collection. Wish I had found it when I entered the Digital SLR market. I had the same experience as most posters with 1way photo...but this was 9/10/2007 (your order box doesn't let you go back that far) I was new to digital and in a hurry to get good gear with just a little lead time to practice before a once-in-a-lifetime trip. I had settled on a Nikon D80 kit with two lenses and what I figured was the standard accessories. Seemed like a great price advertised for the Nikon D80 "kit", priced on-line at 1-way. Unfortunately, I could find no reviews of the store at the time except the customer reviews they had posted. Without identifying it as such, they sold me a grey-market Japanese camera body. I found this out when I could not legitimately register it on-line for factory warranty in the US. Apparently that is a common piece of the "too good to be true" pricing sites. I don't think it was hot. These grey-market pieces are not on the factory's export/import to USA inventory so they won't register them. I had been talked into purchasing the the aftermarket extended warranty anyways thinking that was a good thing to have since it was "world-wide" so I felt covered at some level but have since found that has its own limitations and is not transferrable. I was upsold on much of the package, piecemealed with essentially what I've come to find, with experience, was false representations of the comparison of the kit contents vs. the upgrades like many but did not know enough at the time to smell a rat. In retrospect I realize I was really taken on the Nikon D80 rig. The worst of it was with the lenses. The "new-model" Sigma lenses that were "better by far" than the "consumer grade" Nikon lenses was probably the most egregious. I have since seen the lenses at about 1/3-1/4 the price I think that I might have paid for them. The invoice was not itemized by price so I didn't know what the actual price was for each upsold item in the modified aggregate "Special Package". The sales call I weathered was a fast and furious discussion and they were discounting the original kit price as standard items in the kit were replaced, then adding the upgraded model lenses, batteries, etc. to bring the final price to something about twice the price of the original. Usually I am more prudent but I was too much in a rush to get the stuff before my trip and thought I was getting better versatility and performance over the original kit offerings. Radar was off...the salesman was quite slick. The "deluxe" camera case, cleaning kit, full size tripod and "special" high speed memory card were basically junk...in fact, Nikon dealers typically toss in the standard Nikon bag which is pretty OK and this "deluxe" one was real trash. I stuffed it with rags and gave it to my dog to use as a chew toy. The other stuff went to Goodwill. The special high-performance SD card was not really. Some off-brand name at "standard" speed/performance. The filters they sold me were claimed as super quality but not really. I must say, however the stuff came right on time but I suspect it was because, rube that I was, I upped the ante so much with all the upsell "upgrades" and they didn't want to lose the hooked fish. But man I was hosed and had no time before my trip to deal with the situation. My once-in-a-lifetime trip photos were marginal at best. A lot of the telephoto shots were wasted because the upsold lens did not have Vibration Reduction. I have since added to my equipment but from my local camera dealer. The "better by far" upgrade lenses from 1-way shot side by side with more standard Nikon D80 kit VR lenses do not do well in comparison, and that is with me having much more experience with the gear. Wish I had found a review of this grey-market rip-off business and stuff at the time when I was doing my research. The main camera mechanics do work OK but for the "upgrades" I would have WAY better performance gear from any legitimate dealer. I've since found out how the digital camera market works and have a permanent case of buyer's remorse from this outfit per the terms of my deal. This was a very expensive education for me that didn't have to be except for predatory business practices of 1-way. STAY AWAY from this business. Don't let them give you the business like they did to me. Just for grins, I checked their web site 5/9/2009 and it seems to be "Under Construction" If they are out of business, so much the better. Good riddance."

"These people are out of business. They sell you the camera (for an ok price, admittedly, but not great). Then they take the money and vanish. The company they sold the extended warranty through "RepairTech" is also out of business after taking $250 of my money for a clearly-useless-now 3 year warranty. I've always been told that extended warranties are a scam. Now I know for sure."

"I did not end up ordering from 1 Way - I managed to cancel the order I placed when my gut told me something was not quite right. This site reaffirmed my suspicions.

I placed an order online on the 1/26/09 for a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H50 Digital Camera. The next day I received email and voicemail from "Adam" telling me that I need to contact 1 Way "to provide a verbal confirmation so that we can ship out your order". So far so good - I liked the fact they that were verifying my identity.

I tried to contact Adam several times, was placed on hold for unacceptably long periods and finally reached him. At this point, things started going downhill. Instead on just finalizing my order, he stated asking me if I wanted to buy different accessories: I was told I really needed the battery because the battery that came with the unit was basically a one-time charge and could not be reused or recharged without a stand alone charger. I was told I needed a high-speed memory card because the one they came with it was lousy. I politely declined because I had these items only to be told that I really needed this stuff because it was just going to cost me more someplace else. When I wouldn't buy accessories, the sales pitch changed to acquiring an extended warranty. I politely declined this as well only to be told that this was a "import unit" and that all the menus and the manual would be in Japanese. When I challenged him on how was an extended warranty going to fix the language issue, he changed sales tactics again and began to try to sell me something else.

At this point, I decided to balk and told him to just cancel my order. He turned the hard sell on again and this time offered me the USA version of the DSC-H50 with all the items (and then some) he had been trying to sell my for about $50 more than I was planning to originally pay. This seemed like a good deal at that moment and I agreed. What can I say, Adam was a good salesman and very convincing.

He went through and began totaling up the order and quickly told me that a 7% shipping insurance fee was be added to the order. I asked him what that was all about and I was told that it was NY State Law and added to all orders. I thought this was odd but agreed to it as NY frequently does things differently.

After I hung up, the whole experienced began to bother me and after a Google search on this mysterious shipping tax, I called back to challenge Adam as this tax was not listed on my original internet order receipt. He said that charge was for 3rd party insurance and that all orders had this tacked on. I told him I resented having to pay for insurance on top of what I was already paying with UPS shipping and he agreed to remove the charge if it would prevent me from canceling the order after I threatened to do just that.

I thought that I would be happy about this deal but something kept bugging me. After running an errand and mulling over my poor experience with 1 Way, I decided to check the internet for company reviews and came to this site. I was shocked to find that their lifetime rating was less than 1 of 10! I immediately called their customer service department and was able to cancel the order before it shipped and avoid having to pay their outrageous 20% restocking fee for refusing a delivery.

Overall, my experience was pretty bad although I lucked out and avoided paying any kind of financial penalty. I usually buy from the internet so I can avoid pushy sales people so this experience was very unpleasant. I would not even consider using them in the future and would tell perspective buyers "Caveat emptor!""

"I had ordered products from this company and ended up in a long legal battle with the help of my credit card company who reimbursed the money. I forwarded my case to the New York Attorney Generals office. Yes they are in New York. I won my dispute and the attorney general agreed to look into it but as with anything the more people who raise concerns the more they will listen. I implore all of you who have had dealings with these people to copy all your documentation and e-mail it to the New York State Attorney Generals office. Even if you have not lost any money it will help those who have been defrauded. "

"I just got off the phone with this company and asked them if they had a retail store. They said they were located in Massachusetts. I asked the sales rep why they had a Brooklyn address and he said that their warehouse is located there, but they are actually in MA. I asked why the camcorder I was interested in was so cheap ($230 lower in price than Amazon) and they said it's because they don't have a retail store. I got an uneasy feeling and decided to check them out and found this website. Thank goodness. Stay clear of these people. They are extremely shady.

The guy got very defensive when I asked him if he could give me any credentials or verify that they were a legitimate business. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!!"

"My experience was similar to most other reviewers. I purchased a camera, and received the email stating that I needed to call in my order. When I called, I was offered a extra battery for $150. (I later checked at found that this battery cost around $50 at Ritz camera!) The salesman stated that the battery included with the camera only lasted about 20 minutes. I declined. He tried to offer me a few more accessories that also seemed overpriced, and I told him I just wanted to try the camera before I purchased anything else. So we concluded and I was told the camera would arrive inĀ about a week. Several days later, I got an email stating that the camera had been put on back order for 3-4 weeks and that I would get a call when it was to be shipped. Growing more uncertain with the legitimacy of this dealer, I begin to shop around again. I found this web site and saw the user rating of 1 way photo. I immeadiately called, cancelled my order and now I'm keeping an eye of my checking account because I do not trust these guys!"

"I have to concur with all the other comments, they are strikingly similar to my experience. You will not get good service and you probably won't get the product you order. I am not sure how an entity like this is allowed to survive in today's business environment but the agencies that regulate these activites are not enforcing the standards we all have come to accept and expect. I was able to cancel my order, I'd encourage you to do the same. "

"Well, along with most of the reviews here, I was completely taken. I usually am pretty smart when it comes to online ordering but I should have done more research on the product i really wanted to order, and also more research here on Reseller Ratings about the company

I was upsold a rechargeable battery and charger, only to find out that Nikon already provided that in the standard D40 18/55 Kit...Even when I called back to verify, the salesman I dealt with gave me some line of BS about the kits THEY receive from Nikon come with a cheap disposable battery. I ended up spending $150 more than I needed to, plus they charged me another $49 for shipping insurance when I called to change my order...it wasn't even an option.

To give some credit, the sales guy was very patient when I called up to adjust my order and change it to something else. He spent the time to explain some of the differences...unfortunately I was also fed some BS about the battery, needing a higher priced package that's not published on the site.

I should have known better...so it's my fault as well. "

"I can't believe a company can get away with this! Like exactly what I am reading on this site, the same thing happened to me! I felt wrong when I questioned that the camera DOESN'T come with a battery and charger (?), and the rep said, 'That's what I'm telling you.' My then $400 order instantly became $749 and I cancelled my order. He all but hung up on me! Then, going back to the website, I noticed that the camera DOES come with battery and charger. I called back and asked for a manager. I explained that the website is different than the call, and then he proceeded to tell me that the battery and AC power (not a charger) only comes with the BODY ONLY (no lenses) and then when a package is added, it is not included. However, the battery is only "one use" and the power supply just keeps the camera on. I thanked him for the clarification and then hung up. Upon going back to the website, I realized their website does include battery and power supply, as I was misled AGAIN by a "manager" and then I found this site. OMG, I am so glad I didn't purchase anything! I cannot believe they still run a business. "
