I was looking for a camera at a good price, that's how i ran into this website. A Panasonic dvx100b for only $1299.00. Sounds great, except that is not true. when i called to order the camera, they told me that it came without the lens (body only)They than convinced me the buy a different camera that just happened to be on sale at $2,100.00 (Sony hvrhd1000) (normally $2.999.00 that their website, I later found out it only sells for $1,599.00 at honest websites.) claiming that it was a much better camera. To make a long story short. The next day i did some research and realized that i had been lied to everything that i was told, turned out to be false. MY Advice, don't do business with these crooks, they're going to rip you off big time. by the way i found this other website called pricing depot.com, looks like the same people behind the website, be careful, like the saying goes if it sounds too good to be true.

Reviews of 1 Way Photo are unfair. This is my favorite store. The workers are my most loyal subjects. The sales techniques they use I have taught them personally. They serve me very well.

Pretty much the same story. Ordered camera package Friday for my wife for a graduation present. Got an email Monday asking me to call to confirm my order. When I called a guy with a bad New York accent asked me if I wanted to purchase a "special 5 hr. battery" for $199. I stated that the item description said that it came with a battery and he said it was "just a battery to set up the date and time on the camera". I looked up how much a "real" battery would cost--$15-$45, so i said no thanks to his offer. He just hung up the phone. I then found this site and got nervous. Luckily yesterday they sent me an email cancelling my order due to the item not being in stock. Out of curiousity I called, asked if my order was officially cancelled, he said yes, and I said "Thats too bad, I was going to order that special battery." He then said hold on. He came back and said he just found one and if I gave him my security code he would process my order. I said no thanks, I know your game and will be alerting the authorities. He then yelled some expletives and hung up. Scam artists, and not even very good ones. Good scam artists are charming, not a**wipes like these jerks.

As others have said before me, I wish I had found this review site earlier.I placed an order with these people and they called me back about an hour later to "verify my credit card". I gave them the 3 digit code on the back. about 30 minutes later I received an e-mail with an additional $500 worth of charges. I called to complain and their response was that I approved the upgrade otherwise they would not have had my 3 digit security code from the back of the card. Now I have to file a dispute with my credit card company. If anyone else who ripped off wants to file a complaint with the NY attorney general the link is http://www.oag.state.ny.us/complaints/pdfs/cns001web_consumer.pdf or for spanish form http://www.oag.state.ny.us/complaints/pdfs/cns001web_consumer_spanish.pdf

If you ever made purchase, and now you are reading it, be very hurry!! take your action to get out of there, otherwise you will feel like
an greatest idiot in the world.
Don't waste your time with these scammers to try to fix the problem.
just call the bank, and file disputed claim,
that's what I did after I was hung up many times, and fooled by lies and lies,
I got sick and tired to deal with them, and I hope you don't need to go through that yourself. You really don't need to be nice to those people because the more you treat them nicely, they will try to fool you and use you.

I will skip my story because it is just same as others story here. But one thing, when I was
so desperate with this scam, I came here and read all these stories and I got couraged to take my action and I got my money back and returned the stuffs. I learned about BBB from here so I filed the repoert, filed disputed claim with my bank, and they helped me. So if you have same situation, talking to your bank would be the best way. Fight for your right.

Obviously, I'm here to complain about this company. How much I would have liked to see this website before ordering a lens with 1wayphoto!!! PLEASE DON'T BUY FROM THEM!!! This is an advice from someone who's been buying on internet for more than 8 years and who got scammed for the first time.

My story is very similar to everyone... I ordered a $800 canon lens 17-55mm on their website end of march, I was asked to call them to confirm the order. I talk to "Scott" on the phone and he tells me that the canon lens is not good and that he can sell me a Sigma lens for the same price. I was in a rush when it happened, english is not my mother tongue, he was very nice on the phone... basically, he got me and I know this was really silly of me cause it was so obvious that it was a scam!

Anyway, I realized my mistake few hours later by looking on internet and discovering the sigma lens was only $300 on Amazon, I call them to cancel and of course it's been shipped already! What a lie! Unfortunately, I paid with a debit card so impossible to cancel at that point.

So I wait patiently for the lens, when I receive it, I call them to get an RMA number and of course it takes ages to get that number. They didn't want' to give it on the phone, they wanted me to send an email. I send the email, no answer, so I call again and this same guy "Scott" offers me a $200 discount to which I say no. I finally get my RMA number. I send the parcel back with UPS.

More than 2 weeks later, no refund on my account which is not a surprise. I called them today and they told me that they gave me a refund on the 10th april, I ask for a reference number and they can't give me one!!! So I call my bank but they certify me that no refund has been made into my account since last week. I call 1wayphoto again and they put me in contact with this woman who's the rudest person I have ever talked to on a phone. She tells me that the payment has been made and that she will fax me the receipt. Of course, few hours later still no fax...

So tomorrow I'm going to call them again and tell them I'm going to the police. I really had enough and I have all the proofs that they own money that I didn't get. What do they think? Just because I'm not american I'm gonna let that go!

Sorry but I'm so upset about this whole situation. I'm really going to do my best so that this company shuts down. They should be put in jail!!! It really makes me laugh the few positive comments you can read here. No doubt, they wrote them!

Anyway, I could do with some advice right now as I don't really know how this country works with this kind of situation. Should I go to the police in Brooklyn and make a statement? Or can I do it where I am at the moment? I'm in Vermont, going to New York next week. I will obviously contact all the other companies people have been talking about. I really thinks this is very serious what this company does and they should really been put to jail.

Before finishing a big thank to all the people who have been writing here, I completely understand what you've been through. If we all fight together, I'm certain something good will come out of it. This may sound very dramatic but I have never heard of something that bad before.

Oh and if people don't believe, I have kept emails, ups receipts... and I can proove that I'm not lying.

----------------------------------

Here is a following up to my misadventure with 1WayPhoto.

I'm waiting for a refund of $679.79 that 1Way Photo said they have paid on the 10th of April. They finally sent me a copy of that receipt of that transaction after two phone calls. On the second one, I talked to a guy called Andy and he was literally shouting at me, saying that I was a horrible person because I was threatening him about contacting the police if I wasn't getting my money back. Oh yes, I'm so bad! I have been stolen, under lots of stress, wasted time on the phone with them, being talked to like if I was an animal but of course, I'm the horrible person not them. What a laugh! Anyway, the receipt doesn't look fake and it shows the amount I'm waiting for and my bank card number.

I called my bank again and they certified me once more that nothing had come through. Unfortunately, they can't do anything on their side. 1Way Photo has to do a debit trace with their bank. My bank told me it could be that they cancelled the refund the day after so that they could get the receipt and still prove that they had paid me. But of course, they won't say anything about the cancellation.

I didn't call them cause I already know they won't do the debit trace, they don't care and this is exactly what Andy said on the phone, "I don't care". Nothing else I can do now with them.

So I have called the Brooklyn DA (Kings County DA) and I was told that if 1Way Photo doesn't have a shop, it is not possible to sue them and that I need to speak with the IC3. Of course, they don't have a shop, it's only an internet company, they are very clever.

By the way, check that website:
http://donwiss.com/pictures/brooklynstores/
and this:
http://donwiss.com/pictures/brooklynstores/h0265.htm

I have made a complaint with IC3, BBB New York and New York City DCA. I think this is the best I can do. From what I've read on internet other people have complained about 1Way Photo with those 3 companies so they shouldn't be surprised to see my complaint. I will keep you updated with what is going to happen next.

---------------------------

I GOT MY REFUND!!!
After more than a month I finally got my money back. I have lost in total $300 (restocking fees, delivery...) and time but it was worth it. The lens they sent me didn't work anyway!!
For all the people that unfortunately got scammed, you can send the parcel back, it takes time, money and energy but this is their way of trying to put off people to send items back and in the end win about selling things much more expensive than what they really cost.

The company was closed over the weekend for the holiday season, being an impulse buy, crazy me placed an order before reviewing the company. Told my boyfreind that I ordered a Camara and he asked from were to make sure I didn't go to a scam site (little did I know). I just placed an order sunday morning. Come sunday evening I emailed them to cancel the order in fear of being taken advantage of, I then emailed them again to confirm that they received my first email for when they re-open on the 22nd of April. N-e-who I had alreay called my credit card company to let them know of the situation, Its monday night now and I was still STRESSED that I will still be charged for absolutely nothing or something that I did not order. Therefore, I called my cc company and canceled my card earlier tonight and will be getting a new one sent to me, just to give me some piece of mind. I'm just glad they were closed for the holiday, and I found this review site for future purchases, it was very helpful.

Wow, so many people scammed and I unfortunately am another to add to this long list. Of course I ordered a $2,100 lense and camera deal with all the extras (most of which normally come with the camera like the battery and charger). I wanted the Canon 17-55mm lense since I did my research and found out what a great lense it was. But he convinced me that he had a better deal on a $1,799 sigma lense. I looked up the cost of the sigma lense and found out it retailed for $670 and most places sold it for around $400. I called him back to question him about it and he over and over stated that this lense was not the same lense he was giving me. So I went through with the order and when I received the camera and lense I called sigma directly. They looked up the serial number and of course it WAS the same lense that has a MSRP of $670 and they said they offered no other "professional edition" of this lense as stated by the guy at 1WayPhoto. I was also told that if I wasn't happy with the lense (this was pre-order) that I could have the canon lense I wanted for the same price. But, when I called to complain and ask for the Canon lense as promised he told me that I would need to pay another $250 for the "metal" mount instead of the plastic mount. I said I didn't want to pay anything else and to just give me the plastic and he freaked out and said not to do that and then finally admitted he couldn't supply the plastic mounted lense. Anyway, I'm trying to get my return authorization number now from him to return everything even though he says that I will owe over $400 in return fees (15% of purchase). I have contacted my credit card company (american express) to contest the charges but they said to go ahead and return the merchandise first then worry about the additional return charges. I feel like an idiot for dealing with these scam artists. Oh yeah, on the phone "Scott" also said he would come down on the price $300 and since I didn't agree I wasn't "trying to resolve the problem" and he ended up calling me an "idiot" on the phone. This guy is classless. I'm curious as to anyone else who has contested the charges with the credit card company and how it turned out?? Any feed back?
