The specs are excellent on this camera as Optical Zoom is the only true zoom. At 5x it is atop of the ratings as most costlier cameras offer 3x Optical. Digital zoom is merely computer enhancement of the image. I recommend the XD card with this as it allows you to use all the features of this camera."
