1800Contacts.com is one of the best companies I have ever dealt with. Everytime you call a cheerful human answers the phone. I have called a number of times to place orders, change orders, etc. and everytime I have received wonderful service. This is one of the first reviews I have written on anything or for anyone, but to receive service this good deserves being expressed.

Good retailer. My first order was mysteriously canceled so I immediately made a second order. I was charged for both orders. I contacted them through online chat and the friendly rep quickly refunded the extra charge. I have ordered from them before without any problems. I think it was an isolated problem and they quickly fixed it. Shipping was fast.

I re-ordered for the 8th time from 1800 contacts and I have to admit that some of my previous orders went smoothly but others took a long time for me to get my contacts which is unacceptable. A place like this knows that people need them to see and they should process orders quickly and efficiently because of this. Anyways...
My last order was placed on March 14th. The order apparently shipped on the 16th. I called 1800 contacts on March 27th after the given 5-7 business days for the order to arrive. The first lady I spoke with, was nice at first but quickly turned rude and was mocking me in a sense when I was describing my situation to her. She was very over dramatic repeatedly saying, "Oh I am so sorry sir I really understand," in a happy go lucky voice after every sentence I ordered. I told her I wanted to discontinue my business with 1800contacts and to go ahead and cancel my order. She quickly responded "We can send you return labels sir and you can send them back and we will refund your credit card." She put me on hold and never came back so I called back after that and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was put on with Lisa N. who was very nice and ended up refunding my credit card and telling me to keep my contacts because she understood that the amount of time it was taking was unacceptable. She asked me if this was okay and I told her I would take them. Well my credit card has refunded and my contacts are not here yet. It is April 2nd. Although the supervisor I spoke with was top notch I am never ordering from this place again.

1-800-Contacts is excellent. They actually answer the phone when you call! No automated voice crap! Their customer service rocks, no outsourced call center either!
Even better, they price match with other online retailers.
I called in my most recent order to price match with another site; the CS rep said that because that site was a members only site, he couldn't, but then continued to find me an even better price match that saved me over $50 more than what I had presented! I was speechless!
They throw in a free lens case, which honestly, is better than anything I've ever bought in a store.
If you still don't believe what a great company this is, give consideration to the fact that I came to this site on my own to post this review!

1800Contacts have always been a great store for online contact purchases. I have been using them for years, and will continue to do so for many more to come (unless I get Lasik). Their customer service is prompt and friendly, and their prices are hard to beat. My contacts always arrive on time or early, and their shipping prices are not that bad either.
One time my contacts were lost (the FedEx driver delivered them to some unknown house instead of mine) but the customer service agent was able to assist me and get me the contacts that I desperately needed with both speed and accuracy.
I would highly recommend using them for your contacts, and you may as well purchase in bulk with their policy of taking back unopened contacts for a refund.
They are a company that I will use again for years, and have recommended to everyone I know.

The service was amazing. Very little hold time; the second time I called I got a CSR right away, even without the "Please press # if..." message. The CSRs were courteous and very helpful. The 2% price match was useful too. Overall this is the best customer service I have received.

Excellent seller. Originally ordered contacts on 11/28/2007. When the package did not arrive as expected, I contacted customer service on 12/8/2007. No questions asked the FedEx'ed me another order that day and I received the following Monday. They even covered the cost of shipping themselves.
Have ordered from this company many times in the past and I have never been disappointed with either their price or customer service.

I ordered it via FedEx next day air, and got what I wanted a day faster than expected, with no unwanted surprises. Better still: I had to call on the day of the order for a bit of first time buyer hand holding, and was pleasantly surprised to speak to a live operator with little delay. I plan to buy from them again.
Update, August 2009: I've ordered from them since, and service has been consistently top drawer. For service and shipping, I strongly recommend this company -- but should note that I haven't compared prices with other suppliers. This review was modified by its author, usenet_user, on

I've been using this company for five years and find both their policies and customer service outstanding. They will cut 2% off any lower price found online (you have to place your order by phone to get the price match.) On my last order I saved almost 25% off what I had been paying the last few years when I found a lower price from another retailer. The customer service rep at 1-800 Contacts could not have been more pleasant to deal with and I received my lenses in their typically expedited fashion.
