I needed to order flowers for a funeral that was to occur on December 24. It was very important that they be right, and obviously that they actually arrive timely. I had already ordered the flowers through 1800Flowers.com before I thought about looking for reviews. After reading the horror stories spelled out here, I came very close to canceling the order. I was panicked that the order would be a disaster.  
 
I had ordered flowers a few years earlier from another source, for another funeral, and for the money spent, what arrived was absolutely embarrassing! So I had some trepidation about it based on past experience.  
 
I decided to keep the order in place. But I called 1800Flowers to try and proactively ensure that I would get what I ordered and when.  
 
I have to say that the two people I ended up talking to for this problem were exceedingly kind and helpful. The first one contacted the florist they were utilizing to fill the order to try and obtain confirmation of the flowers that would be used in the arrangement (I knew that it wouldn't end up looking exactly like the picture), and to confirm delivery. She couldn't get through, so she emailed them for a response.  
 
She called me back later to say that she had not had a response yet, but she was fairly confident it would be all right.  
 
I called back later and got someone else, who called the shop again for me, got through to someone, and confirmed that all would go as ordered.  
 
I was still skeptical, but decided to let it go and see what happened. I had also ordered a second arrangement from a local florist. I thought it would be interesting to see the difference between the two orders. Plus, I was hedging my bets, assuming that if the 1800 order went haywire, I still had another arrangement coming from a different florist.  
 
As it turned out, the 1800 flowers arrived on time and were absolutely beautiful. Although it didn't exactly look like the photo from which I had ordered, it was recognizable. The bouquet was much larger, and much nicer, and cost about a third less than the second bouquet ordered by phone from a local florist.  
 
Would I use 1800Flowers.com again? In a heartbeat!  
 
My experience was top-notch. I was very pleased with the whole process -- and more importantly, the results.

I placed an order on January 8 for flowers to be delivered to my girlfriends work on January 9 between 12pm and 5pm for her birthday. Its a pretty simple order and they had all the correct information. Did the flowers get delivered? Of course not. Did I get charged anyway? You betcha.  
 
I tried calling their customer service to see what happened, but I just got an answering machine telling me to leave a message with my complaint and that someone will get back to me. I then phoned them back and selected the option to place a new order and I got through no problem. I told that representative about what happened and she told me that the flowers were on the truck. This was at 730 on Jan 9. The delivery date.  
 
Bravo. You got the job half done and now its too late to finish it because the delivery had to be made by 5:00pm. THE TIME I PAID TO HAVE IT DELIVERED BY!  
 
I work out of town and am unable to get flowers to where they need to be. I put my trust into a service that I should have researched a little better. Now my girlfriend doesnt get flowers on her birthday and I look like a jerk.  
 
To anyone reading this looking for an honest opinion here it is:  
 
My first and last experience with 1800flowers was an unpleasant one. Poor customer service mixed with not getting what I paid for equals 1800flowers not getting my business ever again. Any of you prospective customers would be better off buying and delivering the flowers youself, if possible. If not, you should call a flowershop in the city you are sending to and just skip the middleman.  
 
1800flowers is a joke.

I ordered flowers for a funeral. The flowers were never delivered. They had the nerve to ask if there was a home address they could send the flowers to. My aunt was 90 years old and lived in a nursing home.Send the flowers to WHERE!! Never will I ever use or recommend 1800 Flowers. 100% satisfaction, what a joke. Please do not give them any business. They do not deserve to be in business.

these fools gave me the run around and many headaches, they sent my flowers to someone else and said they were sending out a replacement flowers and never did. kept telling them i want a refund and they kept hanging up on me, ill never order from these people again

Asked for and paid for "same day" delivery for my wife for our 20th Anniversary. The flowers did not show up. Instead the local florist called and said that they had a delivery for her but that they could not make it till the next day. When I contacted customer support via email here’s the response “Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause you. We have granted you a $ 20.00 gift certificate for future purchase. We appreciate your inquiry, and look forward to serving your gifting needs in the future. If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at the address listed below.” Can you believe it, they screw up and they granted me something. I have emailed this bunch of unprofessional idiots to close the account and removed me from the email list. First rule in business (any business) IF YOU CAN’T DELIVERY IT DON'T SELL IT. I’ve had enough with these bunch of whatever you want to call them (It’ll fit trust me); I’ll spend more at a local florist and delivery them myself.

Ordered 12/7/09 for 12/09/09 delivery. As of 12/11/09, no delivery. Upon contacting Customer Service, I was bounced from one rep to another to finally "someone will contact you". No contact received. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY-GOOGLE OTHER REVIEW SITES-I WISH I HAD!!!

Asked for "same day" delivery for my wife. The flowers did not show up. The local florist called after one day (one day later) and asked if they can deliver by noon. They did not show up. When contacting customer support at 1800flowers, they said that the request was processed and they don't want to refund anything. Don't use these guys - they are simply horrible.

Placed an order for a LARGE Sweet Serenade boquet but received a SMALL boquet from this reseller's local florist (Hill's Flowers in San Jose, CA). So what I got was nowhere near what I saw on the web site. 1800flowers offered to redeliver or refund the difference. The lady at Hill's Flowers said she had to degrade the order to account for the delivery charge. It didn't make a difference to her when I told her I had paid $15 to 1800flowers towards delivery charge.

1800flowers.com didn't do a very good job delivering flowers.  
 
I ordered a flower delivery for a surprise to my girlfriend at work on a Friday.  
 
They didn't show up. The delivery shop called at about 5:30 pm and promised them later that night. Then called again and promised them Saturday morning. Then Saturday afternoon. Etc.  
 
They ended up delivering them to the wrong address on Sunday, after I'd asked the delivery to be canceled.  
 
1800flowers eventually refunded my money, which they should have done immediately when the delivery was missed and then I canceled it. Instead it took a *lot* of badgering and I heard a lot of excuses about how canceling orders was impossible, refunding money was impossible, etc.  
 
Overall:  
-Not too impressed with their service.  
-Less impressed with their response to a problem.

twice 1800flowers failed to deliver an item that was recognizable to what shown on their website. failed to live up to their satisfaction guarantee.  
item did not include components listed was drastically different in appearance from image on website.

Placed an order on 8/18 for 2 dozen roses for my wife's birthday on 8/21. In the afternoon on 8/21 when the flowers had not arrived, I called 1800FLOWERS twice and was told "the flowers are on the truck". Well, the flowers never arrived. I wish I had checked the ResellerRatings.com rating first. 1800FLOWERS is terrible - how do they stay in business??

DO NOT ORDER FROM 1-800- FLOWERS!! I ordered flowers for my Mother and got an email saying they had been delivered when they had not. Then they said they would re-deliver and never did again! Finally I got the name of the florist and called her directly, she sent flowers but the wrong order (card was for someone else) and finally sent the right flowers a few days later. What a NIGHTMARE. But what is even more unbelievable is my boyfriend got me flowers about a week after this fiasco (he didn't know about the whole thing with my Mom) and they were not delivered on the same day either!! He eventually sent me the email and had paid $13 for same day delivery and all I got was attitude from customer service. When they came, they were nice but 1-800-Flowers is awful. They will ruin any surprise you might be trying to arrange. From now on I will pay more for another service and not deal with the headache of this one.

Ordered a beautiful arrangement for my grandmother's funeral from the 1800Flowers.com website. When I saw the flowers at the memorial services, I was embarrassed they had my name on them! Instead of being white, they were purple; instead a of lots of blooms, it had only THREE; instead of being a in a tasteful white vase they were in a brown handled basket. NOT what I ordered! I contacted 1800Flowers and they offered to redeliver them to the church - I declined because they were for a funeral which had already happened so they refunded me a whopping 20% on my order. How is that comparable? They let you down when you're counting on them the most. I will never order from them again.

Cyberspace-> India (customer support)-> local Floweriest. Must be a disconnect somewhere. Very Very Very disappointed. Delivery never happened even that customer support told me, happened. Needed to call recipient to double check, and no delivery. Will not use their service any more.
