As a first time buyer I would buy again from this store.
Clean confirmation mail for my order and no nasty phone calls from sales.
The tracking info was accurate, the order was properly packed and the items were factory sealed.
Everything was just as I expected.
Thanks for reading.

I usually buy from B&H, but they didn't have a newly released camera in stock. 17th had a few... Ordered it Monday morning, had it on my desk Tuesday at lunch. With free shipping! (well... it helps that I live in Mass) Called them to check on the order - very nice and helpful on the phone.
Definitely recommended! I will certainly buy from them again.

I normally shop at B&H, but since they were closed for Pesach, I gave 17th Street a try. I was VERY pleasantly surprised. Their prices are quite low, lower than J&R and B&H, and the service was fantastic. I placed a web order for four item at 3:30pm on Wednesday, requesting standard ground shipping. I received a "Shipped" notice about two hours later, and everything was delived at noon on Thursday, nicely packed and brand new. The perfect on-line transaction.

These guys have been so helpful. The shipment for my camera didn't come to them from Panasonic on time. So my order was delayed a couple days...not their fault. But the salesperson knew I was going on vacation and upgraded me to Next Day for free. Prior to that they were very helpful as well. Highly recommended.

I ordered a Garmin 265WT through Amazon.com. Amazon shipped through 17th Street Photo. The unit was labeled 265W. The box was labeled 265WT. I called 17th St. and was assured that as long as the box said 265WT, that is what the unit was. I started to use it and it was clearly missing some of the described functions in the manufacturer's literature (mainly the free traffic reports) plus other things. The unit is the 265W. This is pure fraud - placing one unit in another unit box and selling it for the higher price unit. I have not heard from 17th St. I guess my next move will be the BBB and Garmin to find out what their "authorized dealers" are suthorized to do.
Garmin was the bad guy in this. 17th St. called Garmin and they are shipping the updated unit with the original model number and not including the instructions as to how to obtain the added program. 17th Street Photo got the correct information and shipped a new unit. - No Complaints. I ordered a Nikon D700 with Nikon's 24-70mm f/2.8 lens. 17th Street Photo Supply had a large discount for a bundle consisting of the above two items plus an 8GB compact flash card.
I received the camera and lens quickly without any issues, but 17th Street Photo forgot to include the compact flash card. They apologized and sent it as soon as I contacted them about it.

Bought Sunpak PZ40X flash for my daughter's Nikon D60 on her birthday. She opened it and immediately the flash didn't work correctly. I called 17th Street Photo, "We have a 7 day return policy, after that you have to send it to the manufacturer". I called the manufacturer and they told me the warranty card is at least 5 years old (their old address is on the card). So, if you want a product that is not half a decade old and you want good customer care, go elsewhere for your camera needs.

bought a canon 5d2 camera from them. the site said it was in stock. i called to confirm it as well. the item shipped out the same afternoon i ordered it. the item appears to be new-in-box/never opened with usa warranty as advertised. no problems. i got a "security call" from them about an hour after ordering only to confirm the order and billing address. they did not attempt to sell me anything else. item arrived 3 business days after ordering using UPS ground shipping. thus far, i'm satisfied.

Very slow to respond. However, they did finally send me a tracking number. Their price was lower than the competition. I am changing my comments here and removing my complaints and I am hoping that the camera will arrive in good condition and without having any problems that require customer support from 17th Street Photo. I ordered a Nikon 18-200mm VR lens from them, although it took them 3 days to ship it arrived in perfect new condition, USA model with all paperwork.
I was confident dealing with them because I have purchased several items from them in the past with no difficulty.

I bought a Crumpler 4 Million Dollar Home bag from 1th Street Photo via Amazon.com. I think I ordered it past midnight and it was shipped out the next morning. Took 4 days vis UPS ground to Michigan. Glad to have bought from them.

Ordered a Garmin Nuvi 755t. They had the best price by far and fast shipping. This was a complete GPS system with no pressure to buy extras.

I have called the store to purchase the Canon PowerShot G10 Camera, whereas they've stated that it is available and I could come and pickup the item. When I arrived, they presented me with the camera in its box, however upon closer inspection it appeared to be an open box item. Hence, I requested a different/new one, which they refused, stating that they are not willing to sell me different Canon G10 camera, given the item is new, which it clearly wasn't. Well, I left and walked two blocks to Best Buy, which to my surprise had stepped up their customer service and provided me with a sealed/new Canon PowerShot G10. It's sad to see the unwillingness and the decline in customer service levels at 17th Street Photo.

If you have any qualms whatsoever about making a camera purchase online you have nothing to fear at 17th Street Photo. They are fabulous! I purchased a Nikon F100 from them several years ago and was so thrilled with the service that I returned to them to purchase a D80. Not only were their prices the best but the camera arrived in two days! The price was reduced on the memory card from when I ordered the camera and they credited me the savings a week later. They have the kindest and friendliest staff, too - simply the best!!
