Their web site sucks. I place one order and it fails at the last step. I call customer service to cancell it. But two weeks later it was shipped. Also if you call the customer service to change the items in one order, Those RPs just screw up everything and over charge you. I call them 10 times to solve a $20 billing problem. Each time they said they will call me back or fax me something soon. After you hang up the phone, you won't get them forever until you call them again. This is the worst retailer I met in US!

I have ordered several different items over the past few months from photoalley using their website: Two megapixel Digital cameras (over a $1000), USB Epson phtoto printer ($300), ink, camera accesories, and a card reader. Never once have I had a problem with this company. Everything shipped as stated, everything works as it should, not one problem with special promos... Nothing. This is a good company to work with. I will continue purchasing products from this company and recommend you do too.

The on-line ordering and recieving stages were perfect and the deal for 2 items(camera and lens) was excellent because of their usual, promotional discount. But then I wasn't happy with the camera and wanted to exchange it for adifferent one that suddenly was out of stock(and never did come back). The salesperson was very nice, and assured me that I would get the full amount back, regardless of the promotion. That did not happen. They subtracted half the discount, even though the lens was more expensive. When I told them I had been promissed something different, they didn't care. I asked to speak to a manager and was told I would recieve a call the next day. Nobody called the next 10 days. I also never recieved any responses to my e-mails. I was hoping to work out a compromise because I intend to by more equiptment. I was interested to read that another customer was contacted by the owner of the company.  
Evidently they value his future business more than mine.

Placed an order for a camera, called to check on the order when it did not show up on their www site. Was assured that the camera was in stock and would ship as promised, within 24hours. Checked the www site the next day and it showed that the camera was on back order, called again and yes it was on back order. The Customercare person could not tell me when it might ship. I asked if they worked for photoalley or a third party, they do NOT work for photoalley.When I asked for a phone number for photoalley I was told I could only contact them by e-mail, guess they did not pay the phone company. Cancelled the order and paid more from Amazon.com the product was shipped the same day - thanks amazon

PhotoAlley's systems do not show the correct status of their products. I ordered items on Friday afternoon that were shown as "in stock" and I upgraded delivery to Fedex overnight. I checked on my order Monday and found the status was "backordered". I called and found the extra battery was out of stock so they place the entire order on backorder. I told them to ship the extra batter later and they said fine and would ship my camcorder that day. I checked the next day and the order said it was "Processing". I called to see why it hadn't shipped and was told the camcorder was now "out of stock". As I talked to them my online order status changed to "backorder". They had no idea when the camcorder would ship. Companies that cannot keep their ordering and inventory in sync do not deserve our business.  
 
Their systems also cannot handle the pressure. They had a special deal going through November 20th and for at least half the day you could not place and order. After numerous calls they said they were "working in it". Obviously to no avail. It is not worth the aggravation to deal with online companies like this. Look elsewhere. Even when you call they don't give you the truth.

I had two orders handled improperly by Photoalley. The first order was by phone. It was for Fuji Hi8 video cassettes. The person taking the order incorrectly placed an order for VHS-C tapes. I returned that order and placed a second order for the Hi8 video tapes via their website. When the package arrived the video tapes were regular 8mm instead of Hi8. When I checked their website, the Hi8 tapes were no where to be found. When I did a search on the item number, the product description no longer had Hi8 in the description and the product image had been changed from the Hi8 tape to the regular 8mm package. When I called to complain the best the customer service rep could do was say they were sorry. I am now having to pay shipping to return these tapes as well.

I ordered a digital camera from them. It arrived when they said it would, was well packaged, and just as advertised. I would certainly buy from them again.
