This company should NOT be taking orders over the internet. Even though they advertized 48 hour turnaround on customer built computer, their phone representative said "it takes at least a month to customer build your computer". They were rude, unfriendly, unwilling to help, even when it was escalated to the President of the company. Poor follow-up, uncaring, uninformed. HORRIBLE TO DO BUSINESS WITH.

I went to place an order from Tiger Direct. In the process, I talked to three different sales reps. The first one was rather abrupt and impolite. The second was a foreigner I couldn't understand and the last guy was really nice. He first told me that the shipping/handling for two computers and two monitors was going to be $150! I kept telling him that was too much so finally after several minutes he decided to knock it down to $50 for me so he wouldn't lose the $1100 sale. It was sent two-day air by Airborne Express. Overall, the two systems are kinda slow to boot and cache the swap file alot (even with 64MB), but are a good value for the money. Plus, Tiger sealed up all the IDE connections with a chemical substance that prevents them from coming loose during shipping. Previously the only company I've seen do that is Falcon Northwest and their systems cost thousands of dollars. Overall, I haven't had any trouble with the systems (knock on wood) even though I swapped out one of the processors for one I had. The system has been up and running for twelve hours at a time with no problems. They did ask me if I wanted a "free" subscription but I declined after reading the other comment in this forum about how they bill you for it!

I purchased an AGFA scanner in April. The unit arrived on time and works fine. So far, I am pleased with Tiger Direct.

I bought a new computer from Tiger Direct which developed problems in the first week and even though I had bought the Onsite Warranty they would never send any one out to fix it. So I have spent countless hours installing parts that they did ship which often failed and still the computer would not work correctly. Finally I shipped them the computer to have it fixed, they claimed a software problem and shipped it back to me with out testing it in a professional manner, it behaves as though it has a thermal problem. When I got it back I immediately hooked it up and discovered that the Windows 98 was corrupted. This folks are the worst. Check out the FTC site for the complaint and actions taken against them for the same problems I have had. It appears that they have not changed their business practices, they lie to you and fail to honor there warranty. I finnally had to buy another computer from someone else. So avoid Tiger Direct at all costs. Thank you Kris

Very bad service, the manner of sales representatives, the long waiting calls, never refund, and don't care about customer's feeling.
