I recently ordered a K6-3 350 CPU from Tiger Direct's 'Overstock' section. I received a confirmation number by email, and was given a link to track my order. When I go to that site, I am told that there is no order history for that account. When I called, I was told that the part was 'on backorder'. An overstock part on backorder?!? When I explain the problem with the web site, I am told by the phone rep that he does not have anything to do with the web, and told me to try emailing the webmaster. Needless to say, when I contact the webmaster, I get no reponse (after 10 days and counting). Tiger Direct is a JOKE!

Classic bait and switch. Items are competitively priced and enticing; then comes the bogus, marked-up shipping charges which are double the going rate. Tiger Direct has the gall to call this “special” shipping. The only thing special about it is that it takes them a whole week to actually get your items boxed and in the UPS truck. Then figure another 5 business days for UPS to actually get it to your door. Their Customer Satisfaction Dept. is an even bigger sham. It took me three tries to finally get someone to answer my email, and all I received was a form letter basically saying, “We’re sorry, but do try us again sometime.”
BUY FROM TIGER DIRECT AT YOUR OWN RISK !!!

I have ordered three motherboards form Tiger direct. I will never do so again. I should have learned that
quality is not in high regard with Tiger direct. The first motherboard I ordered never booted up properly until
I put an insultated object on the edge of the motherboard to elevate it a bit. This solved the problem. I didn't
return it because I didn't want to go through the hassle. The second motherboard I ordered had a built
in sound chip. I ordered the modem also. When I powered the motherboard up everthing worked fine
except the sound drivers wouldn't load up and the modem wouldn't work. After wating for a hour and a half
on hold I finally got through to a technicain. He was kind and helpful and told me after some testing that
the sound chip must be bad. I didn't want to send this motherboard back for an exchange so I went out and
bought a new PCI Sound Card. The sound worked fine but the modem still didn't function. When I got hold
of tech support after a two hour wait I was informed that when you disable the onboard sound chip you also
take out the modem that plugs into the special slot for that special modem. Great, now I had to go out
and buy a PCI modem also. I did that and the motherboard functioned good.

Well beleive it or not when my sister in law wanted a cheap computer I offered to build her one. I ordered
a barebones kit AMD K6 500 MHZ. When installing windows 98 I would always get a windows protection
fault when windows 98 would go through its final reboot. After waiting a hour for tech support I got a hold
of a person who was extremely stupid or was purposely trying to brush me off. When I told him of the
problem he told me that the motherboard was fine and that I should contact MIcrosoft to solve the problem.
What a joke. After trying to reason with him for a RMA # he continued to say he couldn't do it because it
was Microsofts problem. I knew I was dealing with someone who prided himself on not helping customers
so I parted company with this bozo and called again later to talk with another technician. This tech was
most helpful and told me to disable the external cache memory. When I did this the computer worked fine.
He told me that would send me out a new motherboard and charged my credit card for the shipment. I'm still
waiting for that motherboard 8 days later.

The worst part about this situation is when I asked to talk to some supervisor about one of there bad attitude
employes they really didn't seem to care. It must be par for the course, a bad attitude that is. In summary
I will never, never order anything from Tiger Direct again.

I have ordered a couple of times from Tiger and always have gotten screwed. From the ordering process to returns, their personel is impossible to understand. I dont see how waiting on the phone for an hour(which is quite common) to talk to a foreign employee thay you can't understand is helping. Returns are a nightmare, I returned a motherboard because it was defective(It wasn't even the motherboard i ordered in the first place) and to this date have not gotten my money back. Their shipping is ok(even though i was charged $50 to ship a 5 pound package) Overall my advice would have to be stay away from this company!!! You can easily find cheaper and better service elsewhere.

Oh, where to begin. My boss had used Tiger in the past and when I was tasked with upgrading 17 PC's, he gave me their catalog. I needed 6 cases, 17 500 mhz Celeron processors, 6 ATX mobo's, 11 AT mobo's, 11 CDR's, 11 1.44mb floppy drives, 17 6 gig HD's, and 8 172mb RAM. Well I sent about 30 minutes on the phone with their "SALES/TECH SUPPORT" person. Trying to match a MoBo which would have the ISA,PCI onboard Vid/Sound I was looking for, along with being upgradeable in the future when the celerons needed a boost. We where able to come to a consenses, but he informed me that they only had 3 of the 6 AT style Mobo's in stock but expected the remaining within 5 business days. Because this is a govenment site I decided to only order the 6 cases, mobo's mem's, hd's, cdr's, and floppies and see what they looked like. Inital shipments arrived within 6 business days. 60 Days later, after a dozen calls still waiting for the 3 missing MoBo's. Even called the MoBo manufacturer, and emailed the Mobo manufactures PRESIDENT. They claimed they had send a shipment to Tiger over 10 days ago. And the manufacture would contact Tiger on my behalf and have TIGER call me. RIGHT. Still waiting. They have lost the remaining order for 11 additional systems. I'll rot in Hell before I'd ever use them again! PS.(I new my boss didn't have a clue!)

I have ordered several times from this company with superb results. I upgraded my PC memory using the advice the salesman gave me and it worked flawlessly. I have a Packard-Bell, a truly abominable computer, and the person I talked with gave me invaluable advice on how to fix some ongoing problems I had. Now my PC is functioning well.

I ordered a refurbished Viewsonic monitor at a good price. The said said it was in stock. After a month of waiting, the monitor still wasn't even shipped! Of course they didn't even bother telling me their web site was wrong and it wasn't in stock. They could have at least emailed me. I called them and got the order cancelled relatively easily, but found that they had already charged the credit card. I found out from the rep that they don't stock them, and Viewsonic delivers directly. Why would they say in stock on the website if they have no idea if Viewsonic has any? That just made me more pissed off. I am never dealing with them again.
