I do alot of shopping on the internet. My recent experience with the RitzCamera.com website was poor. I would not recommend buying from this site.
I ordered Sennheiser PX 100 headphones on 08/03/2009 for $31.15. Ritz Camera cancelled my order on 08/10/2009. No more stock at $31.15, but I can place a new order at $44.18.
OTHER FUN FACTS
The Ritz Camera Order Status page was unable to find my order information (I checked daily).
The Error reporting link on the Order Status page does not work.
The 1-800 Customer Service line is answered overseas, and the represenatives were unable to help.

Ordered a Canon XT1i bundled with a canon printer (free after $300 rebate). Get a notice that camera and printer is on back order. Camera shipped 7/29/09, received on 8/3/09 but is a Canon XSi in a Canon XT1i box! Called customer service, told them I wanted the right camera shipped. Was first told I had to cancel that order and place another one. Since this was a bundled order, that did not sound correct and I insisted on them fulfilling the order as placed. Item returned but instead of shipping the XT1i, I was told by customer service they do not have these cameras and the order was refunded. I called back immediately to a sales representative to see if they have them in stock and was told yes, they did have them. When I explained my situation, I was then told there was nothing they could do, period. I insisted on speaking with a supervisor (Debra) but she said the same thing, she would have to put it up to her supervisor when they "returned" on Monday, (today). No call from them. Over 2 hrs later and 5 phone calls, it is clear, stonewalling and unethical business is the name of the game with RITZ Camera. Now they send out the printer and want me to pay $300 for that, but have no intention of sending the camera for the price I originally paid for it, as advertised....
I was raised to be a trusting person, but companies like this should be put out of business. I have learned my lesson. Spread the word.

Horrible experience. Phone support routed via cheap voip to somewhere in India where they just barely speak English. Online customer support is useless. No help at all. They also rejected bing.com cashback. They are just scrapping that extra 5%. Will never deal with this company again.

I have not in recent history dealt with an online retailer that has added an "authorized charge" (in my case $7) to my order after I've checked out. I wrote an inquiry using the Ritz web mail system and did receive an answer some 5 days in very cryptic English (likely not the native language of the CSR) later asking for additional information like coupon numbers used (like everyone remembers that). I replied with the requested information and heard no further response. Finally I wrote another inquiry stating I would "Dispute" the charge with in this case PayPal....again no response from Ritz. Some of the worst customer support I have encountered.
This company's store fronts have gone bankrupt; and suspect with the resellerrating I see here their online business is destined to do the same. I will certainly not do business with them ever again.

Ordered a camcorder from them on June 25, 2009 because we had some events coming up that needed to be webcast and wanted to save the cost of hiring someone to come in and do it. When I called and talked to the sales rep I told him I was paying by check he made no reference to the company's policy of placing a hold on a check for 15 days. They recieved the check July 3, cleared my bank on July 10, and still don't have my camera because of the hold policy. When I called and complained customer services was horible and was told the camera would ship on July 21, 2009 and would take 5-7 days to reach me. I was also told the "ships in 24 hours" only applies to credit cards but when you look at their payment policy that is not true either. Had to pay someone to come and produce the webcast. Would have paid more elsewhere if I would have know the service was so poor.
July 21, 2009 Recieved an e-mail today the "the product would ship when recieved from the manufacturer" Called to question this since I had been previously told the camera would ship today. I was told that they did not have a camrea for me eventhough I have an order confirmation that the camera was "reserved". When I pushed the sales rep he cancelled the order, I told them I wanted my money back in 96 hours, he said that was impossible, it would arrive sometime in the future. Told him that was unexceptable, he gave me the impression he really didn't care. I intened to file a complaint with both the State of New York and the State of California Offices of of Attorney General about there business practices. I placed my second order in two weeks. With my prior order I received an email telling me to call to verify my order, allegedly because of some problem. I called, was put on hold for 20 minutes, and then provided my name, address, and email address. That was it, no problem.
I thought it was a coincidence. But today I placed another order. I received an email asking me to call to confirm my order, and that my order was on hold and would be canceled if I didn't respond in 14 days.
I called and I was on hold for more than 35 minutes before I gave up. I sent them an email telling them to go ahead and cancel my order.
Terrible customer service.

Wow, all the reviews are bad. I just ordered a camera and lens from Ritz on the 8th. All the reviews are exactly what Im going through. Multiple calls from their call center about my billing info. Wish I discovered this web site first. Talked with them again today, they still have no idea when my camera will come in from the manufacturer. I want to cancel but some of the reviews i read seem like it's more problems to cancel. Sorry Ritz, never again!This review was modified by its author, Pado, on
