WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!
I ordered a Canon 30D from Best Price Camera. It was listed for $409, which is a deal! Shortly after, I received an email that stated that the camera was on back order with no ETA. After a few hours, I began to think that this deal was too good to be true. I read the reviews on this site and was astonished at the negative responses! I quickly called my bank and placed a hold on my debit card. I am so glad that I found this site! Thanks so much for your help! I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN!
I sent and email to bestpricecamera and asked that the order for cancelled and a confirmation provided. I hope that this is over!
This website is really shady and dishonest. I purchased a Canon Rebel XTi from their site. The Camera came with the 17-85mm lens for $669.00. In order to have the order process I had to call in and confirm the order. The wait on their phone lines is really ridiculously long. When I finally spoke to a customer service representative, I was told that the camera does not come with a battery or battery charger and that I would have to purchase it. The truth is, the camera does come with a battery and battery charger. The customer service representative then tried to get me to purchase a different lens for the camera (one that they sold for less on their site than the lens I was purchasing). He told me he would charge me the same amount, no extra charge. Then when he tallied up the total. The price was over $300 dollars more than what it should have been. He told me that that was the sales tax... which ends up being more than 30% sales tax. There is also a restocking fee that they don't tell you about and it's really impossible to get anyone on the phone. They also do not relpy to any emails send to them. If you want to purchase a camera, I suggest purchasing somewhere else.

DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT deal with any of these websites. All comments regarding bestpricecameras.com and their other websites are all true. The salesperson was trying to tack on extra charges by selling me items that were already included in my purchase. Also, their salesperson must not have graduated past the 3rd grade because they couldn't add up three charges and give me a total. Then when I asked for a breakdown of the charges, he had charged me an extra $250 for nothing. At this point, I told him that I want to cancel my order and he hung up. Lucky for me, I had the phone number he had called from on my cell phone and when I tried to call back, the number was disconnected. I was forced to report my credit card lost so that they couldn't charge my card for any unwanted charges. I wish there was more I could do to warn everyone about these scam artists.
I really wanted this store to be on the level. Yes, I had read all the reviews, and knew I only had about a 1% chance of it being a good purchasing experience, but the price on the web site was so good I had to try it. I didn't get screwed by them, but I definitely feel slighted. After I ordered a Nikon D80, I received a confirmation email with the order number. Two days later I received another email from John Sawyer (Customer Service) stating "Please call me to confirm your order." Confirm what??? They already had my credit card number and most reputable sites would have considered my clicking the "submit" button on the web site as confirmation of my order. So when I call, he says he needs more information from me (3-digit code and another phone#). Then he says never mind, we are out of stock on that item. So I say then the reviews are right this is a scam store. He then wants to argue with me about me raising my voice. DO NOT SHOP HERE!! A reputable store would have emailed or called when I ordered that the item was out of stock, not had me call to confirm an order that they already knew they couldn't fill!!
I too found this site at the top of yahoo when searching for the Sony XBR3 television I wanted. I found the price to be $500 less than any other site. So I went ahead and placed the order before doing the proper research. WHAT AN IDIOT I WAS.
I first became suspicious when I got a call a few hours later from a guy named "Ted" who confirmed my shipping/billing address. I just placed the order and filled that information in so why are they calling to confirm. Then he went into the pitch about a stand and cables and a warranty. A big sign that something was not right. I told him that I was not ready to make that decision yet (luckily this may have helped me because the order was delayed) and that I would call him back the next day to finish the order.
He said okay and after doing some research I realized that the television comes with the stand and that on their website the offered "free cables". When I called him back he said some bs about how the television from Sony is more expensive because it comes with a stand but that stand is not in the same box. I found that hard to believe but still did not cancel my order until I found this website.
Thank God for the internet because is saved me from dealing with this scam. I was able to cancel my credit card before they made a charge and called "Ted" back to cancel the order and he said "Fine" and hung up on me. I don't know for sure if they will attempt to charge my card but hopefully it will not go through as I cancelled it.
I will reiterate what everyone else has said, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. It is not worth the headache.
Complete fraud! After I ordered, I got an email to call them back about the order. They wanted me to buy a battery for the camcorder for $180 since "the camera does not come with a battery." Obvious lie. I declined. Days later, I was notified that my order was put on the eternal backorder, all the while the price of the camcorder kept changing on their website and there was no indication that they were out of stock. The price jumped up $90 one day so I called to see if there were any available for me at that price. The customer service rep told me "No. We put it at that price so that nobody would order it."!!! No Joke!
I was able to cancel the order; however this week there were several fraudulent online purchases made on my credit card. Gee, I wonder who could have done that...
They are deceptive and rude. You order a camera as they have a low price to determine it comes with no battery. They call to "confirm" order, then sell you the battery and other accessories which are not competitive and talk fast and low so you are unable to hear. Then when you call to question, you are perpetually transferred around. If you return you are charged 10% restocking of their excessive prices. I am afraid to return as I do not think I will get my money back.
I was very glad to find this company on resellerratings.com before I made a purchase. I am glad you all took the time to post and in return I am adding some info for you and new customers in the future. It does seem like this company needs to be stopped or at least it's right to do business over the internet. Here is a popular bait advertising code that is being broken here. I have also provided a link for the Federal Trade Commision that outlines Dot Com Disclosures.
Sec. 238.4 Switch after sale.
No practice should be pursued by an advertiser, in the event of sale of the advertised product, of "unselling" with the intent and purpose of selling other merchandise in its stead. Among acts or practices which will be considered in determining if the initial sale was in good faith, and not a stratagem to sell other merchandise, are:
(a) Accepting a deposit for the advertised product, then switching the purchaser to a higher-priced product,
(b) Failure to make delivery of the advertised product within a reasonable time or to make a refund,
(c) Disparagement by acts or words of the advertised product, or the disparagement of the guarantee, credit terms, availability of service, repairs, or in any other respect, in connection with it,
(d) The delivery of the advertised product which is defective, unusable or impractical for the purpose represented or implied in the advertisement. [Guide 4]
Note: Sales of advertised merchandise. Sales of the advertised merchandise do not preclude the existence of a bait and switch scheme. It has been determined that, on occasions, this is a mere incidental byproduct of the fundamental plan and is intended to provide an aura of legitimacy to the overall operation.
Infiniti Photo - Got this from Froogle. WHY WOULD FROOGLE LIST THEM AS A SELLER?!?!! BAD FROOGLE!! DON'T YOU READ THE REVIEWS? I FINALLY DID BUT TOO LATE!!!
Ordered a Nikon D50 "kit". Had to call after a few days beacuse there was no confirmation. Was informed that a battery was not included & it would cost me ANOTHER $180!!! Cancelled the order on the spot. Rep hung up on me. Not sure if order is cancelled. Will report to Better Business Bureau.

Well, I would like to have been the person to say “I didn’t get screwed!” But evidently this dog doesn’t know any other tricks. This has got to be the most crooked, deceitful, lyingest bunch of thieving bastards I’ve ever come across. Since my story is a repeat of everybody else’s I’m going to keep it short and sweet. I placed an order for a couple lenses and a battery grip for my EOS 20D. I got the same ole same run around “call to confirm your order” bs that everybody else gets. My original invoice was for a total of $610 which included shipping for the 50mm f/1.4 and 75-300mm f/3.5-5.6 and the BGE2 battery grip. After a week of calling and spending a serious amount of time on hold with these idiots nobody could ever explain to me how the hell they justified charging my credit card $829.00?! Well I called them back and told Idiot_01 to cancel my order he promptly started arguing with me about how I wasn’t allowed, how it couldn’t be done, “blah, blah, blah, we’re all just trained monkey’s blah!” I informed him unless they wanted to be out the cost of the shipping as well, to cancel my order, if they couldn’t provide me with a tracking # it obviously hadn’t shipped and since I’d been told on every occasion where I’d reached an Idiot_01 that my order shipped on 4 different dates, I was sure it hadn’t shipped.
I’ve mailed a 4 page detailed log of the week long fiasco with these morons to my credit card company. I actually DID get a UPS tracking # from them 3 days after I told them to cancel the order and not to ship it. Some people never learn I guess. Thankfully UPS being the highly trained professionals that they are sent the package back to Infiniti like I asked them to. Bottom line, these people will rob you blind if you let them. I would treat Infiniti with the same mentality as I do Drugs… JUST SAY NO!
These guys are shady!! Can you say bait and switch?? I ordered on the 8th and on the 21st, they call to confirm my credit card information. I had already canceled my order, by emiail, on the 20th. Why? Because they do not respond to email! I've tried a couple of times. I've called them and been on hold for 5-10 minutes and never got anyone. Customer service is horrible.
When they finally called today, it was to hussle me to buy extra stuff I did not ask for, I did not want..and he tried no less than FOUR times to hussle me. When I told them I wasn't interested, he then did the 'ol bait n switch....AFTER I had told him it was a gift. Suddenly, the camera that was in stock was out of stock and would be two to four weeks before they could ship! Absolute scum!
This is a classic bait and switch folks! Stay clear of these guys at all costs...they only want to scam you why claiming they offer low prices so they get listed high on sites like froogle! Seriously, these guys need to be put out of business by their local state of the FTC.
I ordered a Canon SD-300 camera on 12/10 for Christmas with 2 day air. When it had not arrived by 12/15, I called THREE different times and was on the phone for over 1 hour each time. Each time someone answered and when I gave them my order number, told me that they were transfering me somewhere else and then disconnected me. I have called Visa and complained and now I am having to pay extra for overnight delivery. DON'T BUY FROM THESE CLOWNS!
I ordered a Canon ZR100 camcorder, and then read the reviews for this company. BIG mistake! Like other people said, they called me up 2 days later to confirm my order. They said I had to buy a battery. I said I'd just get one on eBay and they said if I didn't buy one the warranty wouldn't be valid.
I told them that their site states their products are "factory fresh" and I asked if they came from the factory with batteries. They said no even though ANYWHERE else, it comes with a battery in-box. I asked them to cancel my order, they said "okay" and hung up.
This company OPENS THEIR PRODUCTS, and REMOVES THE BATTERY/CHARGER. Then they make extra money by forcing you to purchase your own battery separately. Very illegal, and I may file a claim against them or at least report them as a fradulent company. I urge you all to do the same.
STAY AWAY!!!

I purchased the camera online, then called in to confirm. That's when "Adam" told me they would not ship the camera unless I also purchased a battery accessory. Minimum price of smallest battery: $189. When I suggested that I would purchase a battery at a later time, possibly from another retailer, "Adam" stated "No, you can not" at least 3 different times. Of course I can purchase from another retailer: I cancelled my order.

They are based in NY. Alert the attorney general, and report them to the Better Business Bureau. Otherwise, they'll continue these practices.
They are listed at the BBB as "Infinity Cameras". Note that almost half of their complaints are about "selling practices" (36 out of 72)

Ordered Canon SD450 camera online from bestpricecameras.com
Six days later a sales rep called to "confirm my order". Company would not honor my order. Tried to switch my order to a kit including an "extended life battery" for about $80 more.
Classic "bait and switch". Terrible company.
Avoid them like the plague.
