Purchased a Panasonic Toughbook 72 laptop for approximately $3,900. Also purchased auto/air adapter based on their recommendation. Laptop shipped without auto/air adapter. Upon contact, company agreed to ship overnight...but despite agreement to ship "no signature required" the adapter was shipped with a signature required. As a result had to drive 80 miles round trip to pick the adapter up from the fedex depot in order to have in time for trip. Upon opening the adapter, find that it is listed as compatible with fujitsu notebooks but not panasonic. I call the adapter company and they advise that they make an adapter for panasonic but it is not the one Laptopinc shipped. I call Panasonic and they agree the specs are wrong and could void the warranty. I call and email laptopinc twice to discuss the problem. On both occasions, Laptopinc states that the adapter is fine and the manufacturer/panasonic are mistaken. Rather than wind up with a $3,900 paperweight or voided warranty, I eat the cost of the wrong adapter and go out and purchase one that is listed as compatible. Total cost of rectifying Laptopinc.com's poor customer service and shipment of wrong adapter - $200 and about 8 hours of my time. Based on my experience I would not buy from this company again.

Customer is obviously mad because we shipped adapter signature required, since it is a phone order credit card transaction we have to. We advised him prior to shipping product that the auto/air adapter was not in stock and we would ship as soon as they arrive, whihc we did and paid overnight because he stated he needed it right away. As for compatibilty of the adapter we sent, we only offered 2 adapters for the Toughbooks at that time(Lind & xTend) and since we are one of Panasonics oldest toughbook and TP3 partners we would only ship correct adapter so have no clue where he came up with this story and why??

I would have to agree with nottestuser. I ordered a Fujitsu S6120D laptop on Nov. 6, 2003. The product page still indicates that they have this model in stock. I called four days later because I didn't receive a confirmation or tracking number. They told me that they ran out of stock and are expecting shipment Nov. 14, 2003.
Okay, that's still within my threshold for pain. On Nov. 13, 2003, I decided that I would just go and pick up the laptop on Friday instead and gave them another call. Opps, now Fujitsu postponed this to Nov. 17, 2003. Ughh...alright, fine. I'll wait a few more days.
After a few days, I couldn't wait any longer. I am going on a trip before Thanksgiving and need a laptop. I gave them one final call. Opps!! Fujitsu has delayed it again to Nov. 28, 2003. Are you kidding me!?!? Cancel! Cancel!
Thanks for wasting my time. It's unfortunate that they have a high rating, I was expecting much more. The only email I received was the one after I made the order; no follow up about delays or ETA (very poor). Real-time, online inventory is completely false (very bad). Poor vendor management, if I were Global, I'd slam a hammer down on Fujitsu (very poor). Only thing that was good was call-in support, I never had to wait to talk to a live person and service was always fast and quick (very good). Too bad it didn't work out. Loss of business revenue, $1800 (very bad).
I'll be the odd man out and rate these guys poorly.
I ordered a laptop from them at the begining of August. Second day shipping, wait two days, no laptop. Call them and they say "Oh, that's on back order, next week". Nice of them to a) put that on the website when viewing the product b) check inventory when I was completing my order online c) send me email when the person cleared my card and d) call me before had to wonder where my laptop was. NOT!
Ok, bad inventory management but nice people on the phone. Wait 10 days. Call again. "Oh, we still don't have any, ah, next week"
Wait another week. No laptop. Call again. Next week.
Call again on 8/28. "Ah! They'll be in on 9/1! We'll send one to you right away."
Finally the laptop arrives on 9/5 FedEx overnight. The airbill says 9/4 for the ship date. Nice "right away".
I open up the box and I'm missing the second battery and the laptop case. The battery is noted as being drop ship from Fujitsu. Again, thanks for letting me know a) on the web site when ordering the battery b) while checking out and c) in my confirmation email. NOT!
Call about the case and they say that they're custom made, they ran out, and they're waiting for the manufacturer to ship more. Next week.
Battery arrives about a week later.
Call 9/12. "Call back 9/24."
Call 9/24. "Ah, we don't have any."
So I call them today (10/27) after forgetting about them for a month and they say they ship it out to me right away. I guess I had to remind them to send me the product I paid for.
If you want to order from these guys, call them and have them check inventory while you're on the phone. You do get a live person when you call and they're usually pretty nice. Except the guy who argued with me about how they were "too big" to be able to do real-time inventory when I suggested it to them. (I suppose they're bigger than Amazon? Ingram Micro? Dell?)
There are too many vendors on the Internet for me to bother with these amateurs again.

I ordered a Fujitsu P1510D Tablet PC from Portable One on Mar 27. They charged my card on Mar 29 and said that they placed the order with Fujitsu that day. Their website promised deliver in "5 to 10 business days", which would have been Apr 10 at the latest. It did not arrive. I have just learned that Fujitsu suddenly terminated Portable One as a reseller and repair station effective Apr 10, 2006. I was told that Fujitsu will not honor my order, which was placed prior to the termination. The problem here seems to have been caused by the sudden termination by Fujitsu, and not by Portable One.
I was subsequently contacted by Ivan, who contacted another Fujitsu reseller and negotiated on my behalf the same deal that P1 had made with me. He also said that he had refunded my credit card. I think that Ivan and P1 has performed beyond the call of duty in a difficult situation.

Ordered a Fujitsu S6210 at P1 based on positive recommendations from Notebook Review forums (http://www.notebookreview.com/forums/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=7). Also they had better prices, and the ability to upgrade to a faster hard drive unavailabe elsewhere.
To make a very long story short, due to circumstances that were partly my fault and partly their fault it took 2-3 weeks longer to receive my laptop than it should have and was difficult to check the status of my order and delivery. To their credit however, they have gone to great lengths to ensure that I understand the problems that occured and that in the end that I remain a satisfied customer.
Although I had some issues with them I will still recommend them as they have already fixed some of the issues (website ordering) and my other issues appear to be isolated due to specific circumstances.
I would buy from there again because I like their prices and great upgrade options, though I would highly recommend speaking with Ivan if you have any troubles as he appears best able to satisfy any issues that may occur.

I ordered a Macbook Pro from Canada, and the experience with Portable One was awesome. Shortly after I placed an order, I received an email from Scott letting me know they had to do some paperwork for it because it was in international order, and gave me a date of which he said they would ship it out overnight. They shipped it out when they said they would, and it came well packaged. Will order from again.
Ordered a NC10 netbook. Very friendly and helpful customer service, shipped quickly, product came in perfect condition. Would buy from them again, no question.
Guys at P1 are very very helpful, I bought a Vaio Z750D/B from them, and I sent like 18 emails, they respond immediately to my questions and concerns, plus, what do we buyers care for most???
Well, PRICES, and surely their prices are more than great, given the professional type of Support you get along with your gadgets.
I feel safe and sound that I invested a huge amount of money on a mind blowing laptop that I bought from P1.
So, Prices are great, Support is great, what do we expect more?
really P1 is most recommended seller I dealt with, and will definitely return to them for all my future purchases.
If customer service is an artform, then the folks at PortableOne are Master Artists.
I bought 2 computers and 1 netbook from Portable One over the past 18 months. The number of questions I made the sales crew answer could probably get them entered into the Guiness Record Book... yet they always managed to stay friendly and helpful. I can not give Scott and crew nearly enough praise.

Customer service after the sale is unbelievable! I had a problem with an Asus notebook that was resolved imediately and in a better than expected manner. I have purchased two notebooks from them in the past and will always return for the best in price and the very best in Customer Service! The sales staff are very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with as well.
I just ordered my second computer from Portable One. I have never had anything but excellent support from them, before, during, and after the sale. They are friendly and knowledgable and it's nice to know I have them there for any followup. They are great folks!
One of the best companies I have had the pleasure of dealing with for my online purchases. The level of customer service they have is extraordinary, every question I asked was answered fast and precisely, no beating around the bush. Will recommend these folks to anyone and will definitely shop with them for any of my future laptop purchases. Special shout out to Scott, dude is awesome.
I must commend Portable One for the excellent service provided when I ordered 2 Sony VAIO laptop computers in June 2009. I was a bit nervous about buying these machines online and also, because I am based in the Caribbean, I was afraid of receiving faulty machines from the US at such a long distance - well overseas, you know. Scott was very good at understanding my uneasiness about the overseas purchase and the fact that I needed to get the choices right for my 2 teenaged daughters. He responded promptly and to the point each time I sent an email query and there were countless of these before I finally made up my mind! Very importantly, Scott was also chatty and tried to suggest what girls might like in laptops, and he did not ever make me feel that I was just a statistic in his day! When my laptops were ordered and finally arrived, one did not start up - panic set in, but I had faith in Scott and Portable One, and emailed Scott immediately. Patrick took over and via several quick email communications, Patrick had identified the problem - I forget the details now but something to do with the op system and Windows version not being in sync. - anyway, once Patrick had worked it out, he knew I had to get a new hard drive. I pleaded for this new drive to be delivered asap, and Portable One responded to this plea. I had my new drive within a few days (better than I expected, having to wait on it in the Caribbean), and my 2 VAIOs have been working very well since. Thanks to Portable One, Scott and Patrick for ensuring that I made the right choices and also did not get left in the cold after delivery.
Forever Grateful Susan.

I'm admittedly picky when it comes to notebooks. I heard about Portable One on a laptop forum I read from time to time when trying to find a new device; the comments were all glowing, so I tried the company for myself.
Scott at P1 has been nothing short of wonderful. Their online store's prices are generally reasonable as is when compared to what you'd see from the manufacturer, but he was willing to go the extra mile to sweeten the deal a bit, so to speak, on some fairly high-end machines. Even when I had to return a computer because I wasn't entirely satisfied with it, Scott/P1 was willing to work with me and help me find something else to fill its place.
Their customer service via email and chat was quick and to-the-point, addressing exactly what was asked.
I generally stick to the big, trusted places online -- Amazon, NewEgg, and the like -- but P1 is definitely on my list for any relevant purchases down the line. I have already referred friends and others to Scott for their laptop shopping, and I'll continue to do so.
