Ordered online on May 1. They charged my card and I printed a shipping label. On May 6 they send an e-mail stating they have my old battery. Here I sit on June 1 with no battery. I'll be calling tomorrow for status. I'll update with the information. This seems to be in line with other complaints. Very slow service. Not acceptable.
June 2: they are too busy to take my call. I left a message. I don't expect they'll call back.
June 3: no call back or e-mail, so I called them again. Got through. I was told my type of battery cells are special order and they should arrive Monday the 9th. I should get my battery on the 12th or 13th. ("You should have received an e-mail about this.") We'll see.
June 13th: I received the battery. I followed the instructions to reset the battery memory and even ran the battery calibration in the BIOS. This battery is as bad or worse than when I sent it in. I doubt at this time that it was actually "refilled." I will attempt to get a refund. DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! My original battery lasted over three hours. When I sent it in for refill, it lasted about one hour. Now, it lasts about 55 minutes. Hmmm! Suspicious. I'm feeling buyers' remorse.
July 21, 2008: These folks don't answer their phone. I left messages and they don't return the call. (Why do they ask me to leave a message if they don't intend to call me back? Idiots!) Lousy customer service! I don't beleive they refilled my batery, because it is as bad as when I sent it, and it is slowly losing capacity. I get about 50 minutes now. I followed the instructions to a tee, twice, regarding discharging and recharging five times.
DON'T BUY FROM BATTERYREFILL.COM!!!
I've given up and have chalked this up to experience.

I ordered a battery from ebay in March. I received a refurbished battery in about a week and it was a real Gateway battery. I shipped back my old battery with a postage label they sent along with the battery. The whole process was simple and the battery really works better than a new battery. I checked their ebay feedback before placing an order and it was 100% perfect feedback. I am very surprised that they have such low feedback on this website. Considering the invoice number on my battery, I am guessing this website is really collecting complains only. I recommend to check their ebay feedback and order from ebay. They have perfect ebay feedback so far although they have not too good rating here on this site.

I cannot recommend batteryrefill.com for anyone who has a Thinkpad battery. As already been stated here, they are very slow! I had an hour of runtime left on my T41 4400mah battery before it went to battery refill. I did not get the battery back until late April, charged and discharged 8 times and with each discharge, the capacity kept decreasing, rendering it in the same condition and run time than BEFORE I sent it out. I called them, got an RMA, and they sent me the battery back, however, NOW THE BATTERY DOESN'T WORK AT ALL. The sum total of this experience is that I have a battery that is now completely useless. I got all of my money back, but am now out a battery. I am considering my options at this point, including contacting the state attorney general.

Something for all potential customers to consider: Go to Renewbattery.com's Frequently Asked Questions section. Read the customer's testimonial regarding item #7. Now read the FAQ section in batteryrefill.com, item #8. So, where did this customer get their battery serviced? Which company plagiarized from whom? Same exact worded testimonial for both web sites! You be the judge.

Update 5/19/08: A response to the company's reply to my review. The company DID NOT offer me another battery. IF I had KNOWN that my old battery would be shipped back to me in non working condition, then I would have opted for another battery instead of receiving my battery back in a non functioning state. No where did it state in the web site that this could happen if the old cells are put back in the battery. Update your web site to warn the customer of this potential problem, and minimally have customer service warn the customer of opting to have the old cells put back in!

This is our 55285th customer. We refilled this customer’s battery. He complained about the refilled battery only lasting for 2 hours. Battery running time can vastly vary depending on what applications are running on the laptop and the Thinkpad’s 4400mAh 6cell battery usually lasts around 2 hours. And we told the customer to contact us if the running time gets worse. A few days later, customer stated that the battery now only goes up to 50% and lasts 50 minutes. We offered the customer a replacement battery but the customer refused and requested for a refund, which we granted. Problems such as this might be a result of either a defective cell among 6 or circuit issue. Either case, we can repair the problem. However, we issued full refund including shipping charge per customers request.

Regarding Renewbattery.com, we assume most the customers can see Renewbattery.com is a copycat of our website and it is definitely illegal to copy our website’s content. Our corporate lawyer will investigate in this problem.

I have been looking for replacemnet battery for my 8 years old Toshiba laptop. Batteryrefill was the only place I was able to find with reasonable price, so I sent my battery for the refill service. The result is far better than I expected. Usually when someone brags on their product it is to promote it and not within the limits that is expressed. However, this experience is far better than they give themselves credit for.

I've used battery refill services about 3 times now but there was one battery that had issues. While the person on the phone was very helpful and I was able to get it replaced, getting someone on the phone who could answer my questions regarding turn around time and warranty status was somewhat of a challenge. However, serviced battery works very long time. I am happy with service.

A Samsung V20 laptop battery was first refilled and was shipped me back. But the performance was just as bad as the original pack which needed repair.
Thus it was sent back (from my own pocket, since they refuse to reimburse the shipping charge for overseas customers.) and they acknowledged the defect. As it took a long time to get a response, in the mean time I have purchased a new battery from elsewhere and requested the refund. But the refund has never materialised. They said the Paypal has rejected the refunding procedure and can't find any other ways to do so. Naturally Paypal refused because it has taken beyond their stipulated period of refunding procedure. And they pretend not to know about sending out a cheque! Any merchant in the world will think of sending a cheque if Paypal would not accept it, but this company can't even think about it!
Thus after almost 9 months of endeavour I have got nothing from the company.
Therefore I strongly urge the potential customer to stay away from them.

I purchased a battery exchange from these guys, for my Gateway laptop. They sent me a reconditioned battery first, then I returned my original battery to them, with prepaid shipping. The entire process took about two weeks from start to end. My new battery (after a few cycles) gets about 3 hours of service.

I would recommend and do business with this company again, the battery works great and came at a very good price.

I have used BatteryRefill.com several times ranging from 2005 until my last order in December of 2007. Each time their automated system quickly dispensed shipping information and a shipping label to my email inbox. Once refilled the batteries do indeed appear to have higher capacity as they last longer and in fact I find that the recharging ability of the batteries (i.e., not fading after many cycles) to be as good as or better than the original.

A word of caution however: you can't be in a hurry if you order from them. Every order has been slow to complete (literally months) and has required my pestering them to finally get my battery back.

I am concerned about my last order (consisting of two laptop batteries) as it has been excessively long. They acknowledged receiving both batteries on Dec. 17th. I ping'd them on March 18th via Email. That day they left me a voice mail apologizing for the delay and committing that they were at that moment processing both batteries and would ship them out to me by express mail. Last night (April 15th) I sent another email to them asking about the batteries. So far I've heard nothing.

So overall? Originally I liked the price, liked the performance of the batteries returned to me, and did not mind the wait. However after this experience I'm not going to use them again nor recommend them to my co-workers

I am too angry at this moment to give a thorough accounting of my interaction with the batteryrefill.com folks. I have been in touch with them for the fourth time today to see where my battery is. I ordered in late January and I still don't have my battery. It is April 3rd. I have invited the CEO or CFO to contact me as soon as possible. I will gladly update this rating when I have heard from them. In the meanwhile, I would not recommend this company to anyone, as they have not earned my respect with their customer service polices.

I did battery exchange with batteryrefill. The process was exactly what I expected. I received the reconditioned battery in about a week, returned my old battery and received an acknowledgment of receipt of my old battery. I've had the new battery for a couple of weeks now. I'm very pleased with its performance. I hope we can do business again in the future.

My battery is like a new again. Rebuilt battery really works. It took longer than I expected but I was able to talk to someone every time I called and check the status. My Gateway battery looks OK. I can see the case was opened and glued together, but I don’t think it is a big deal.

It was overall great experience. They sent me $5 coupon code along with my battery. The code is “EBAT1QJ4K”. I recommend this company.

summary: ok if you are patient and can live without your battery for a few months

I sent in a Compaq Armada m300 battery which only worked for about 15 minutes. Now after 4-5 charge/discharge cycles I get about one hour.

details:

Dec 10 2007: placed order, received mailing label
Dec 14 2007: mailed battery
Dec 29 2007: sent email to ask whether they'd received it, got a form email response

Jan 2 2008: called to see if they'd received it, nothing showed up on system
Jan 3 2008: called again, still no sign of it. Got explanation of how 9 business days could have stretched into nearly 3 calendar weeks (since Dec 14). :P
Jan 3 2008 late: received email they'd received it. Finally!

Jan 16 2008: called for an update. was told cells were on back order, work should start soon and ship out by Jan 25.

Jan 21 2008: received email saying battery has shipped.

Jan 25 2008: receive battery in the mail - DOESN'T WORK!!! won't charge up at all, computer won't turn on unless AC plugged in.

Jan 29 2008: send an email saying battery doesn't work. list all the symptoms and things I tried.

Jan 30 2008: receive an email saying to send the battery back in - half relieved I don't have to convince them it's really broken. Attached is the prepaid label - but with the wrong invoice name. I call in and get a correct one.

Feb 1 2008: mail the battery back in.
Feb 6 2008: get email saying they received it
Feb 14 2008: call in to check status. they say battery should ship by Feb 20. problem was described as "not being able to communicate with circuit on battery."
Feb 20 2008: get email saying battery shipped.
Feb 22 2008: receive battery in mail. Finally works!!!

Misc Notes:

Echo the comments of others regarding the somewhat messy glue job - there's a 1mm gap in some places, and a wedge-shaped chip (small, sunflower seed size) missing from part of the battery case.

After receiving the battery the first time and having it not work at all I started thinking about claiming a refund. But that would leave me with less than what I had started with - since the battery originally worked for at least a few minutes and at that time didn't work at all.

I wonder what the company policy is for those cases. Seems like if they ruin a partially working battery the consumer should be given the chance to purchase a new battery at the lower refill cost. At least that's what I was prepared to ask for. Glad it didn't have to go that far.

Seems like they are working the problems out but still have room for improvement. Maybe I underestimate the issues involved in refilling batteries, but it's surprising to me that there is not more competition for this kind of work. I can see them losing business in a hurry to someone who is just a little faster and more reliable.

I decided to try batteryrefill.com and ordered a battery refill for my Gateway Solo 1450. With somewhat mixed reviews I wasn't sure what to expect, but the cost was cheaper than a new one and I liked the idea of my cells being properly recycled. Before sending my battery in it would not even get through the boot process. Here is my experience:

I received a mailing label as a .pdf 24 hours after I was charged. I received an email stating they had received my battery 8 days later(PA to CA). After another 10 days, I recieved email that they completed the refill. My battery arrived at my home 4 days later.

I was dissapointed to see that the battery case was now "lumpy" as if the cells didn't quite fit right. Also, the case was not glued together properly and was coming apart in places. I could actually see the ends of the cells. I didn't want to wait to go through a warranty process so I glued it back together with some superglue and c-clamps. It now fits in my laptop OK.

After following the instructions to fully charge and discharge 5 times, I get about an hour and a half from a charge. I can't remember what the run time was when the computer was new, but I'm sure it was probably about that.

My overall impression of this service is that it is fine if you are willing to wait for a solid two weeks and you don't care what the battery looks like when you get it back. Hopefully the glue issues I had were an unusual. I am happy that my old cells were recycled and I can now use my laptop all around the house. I'm not sure I would use the service again, but it satisfied my needs for this computer.

I ordered a laptop battery for a Gateway M305CRV. BatteryRefill sent me a battery without me sending mine first. Unfortunately, it did not charge. After requesting a RMA, they called me promptly, and after making sure I had followed the proper charging procedure, they agreed to a refund. I promptly sent the battery back using the provided prepaid postage, and within two weeks received my refund. I'd rather had a battery that worked, but overall am satisfied that they handled the problem promptly and with integrity.

Excellent service for Sony Laptop at half the price+/-. Had to return 1 of 2 batteries since it would take charge, which got misplaced, but once we got someone on the phone the mater was taken care of in a few days. We are about use their service again, for DeWalt power tools. If we as satisfied as we are with the Sony Laptop batteries, we will be very happy.
