My temper is running medium-high with Batteryrefill.com. This is the fourth battery that I have had them refill. The first three were OK, I only had to call a couple of times for status, but the batteries were returned within a month. It is now two and a half months since I have sent in the last one. I called two weeks after I got an email stating they had received it, and that they were waiting for parts that would be in at the end of the week… Since then, I have been calling once or twice a week about the status and get the response (pick one at random): 1) we are waiting for parts, 2) it’s being assembled or 3) it’s being tested and will be shipped by Friday. This morning I talked to Luis, the production manager(?) and he told me it was complete and being packed to be shipped today and that I would receive an email “shortly” with the tracking number. I called late in the day and got the usual answering machine, which I suggested that I was calling the Better Business Bureau and Merrill Lynch about credit card action against them. Within an hour I received a call from Batteryrefill wanting to know what my problem was and was told that the battery was still in “stage three” --- whatever that is (pick #1,2,or 3 from above). After I told him that I had called Eddie’s Cell phone and talked to Luis, he agreed that maybe they could ship it today so that I could have it on Friday --- we’ll see what happens!!! Phone numbers that work sometimes but are usually busy: 1-888-446-2788, 1-800-983-5008, 1-888-792-4357 or 1-888-331-7841 --- tech support is extension 2 and Luis the production manager is extension 12. Eddie’s (sales mgr?) cell phone is 909-268-8741 and he usually answers. You’d better use number blocking so they don’t totally ignore your call!!! Good luck!

I don't know what is happening with this company. The only reason I sent my battery there is because in the past they were "good". I was very satisfied with the turn around of my old battery. The last one lastet 2 years, so I placed the order. As of all of you, this time they got my money, my battery, and I have a hole in my laptop (no battery). I called them, email them, and I am about to stop by the office (I reside in Texas, but I have a short trip to the Burbank area) to see if they exist or not. At the moment I went from a "extremely satisfied customer" to a "very disatisfied customer". I had more batteries to send, but lucky me I did not send for more. I paid the price for a new one since I never heard from them anymore.
Now, on September 15 I was in Los Angeles and decided to drive by Battery Refill. I found the place, I spoke with the representatives and they seem to be having problems with Li type batteries. They promised me my battery back in the next two days after shipment (expected one) arrive. I have my battery two days later as promised. Again, they were having problems with the LI type batteries. Hopefully, they will be able to complete all orders soon. I used this company in the past and my orders were back usually in about a week, so I believe they were having some problems. On July 17, 2008, I ordered a battery cell replacement from eBattery at www.batteryrefill.com . I received, from them a paid shipping label, with which I shipped off my original laptop battery. Their website claims a 5-7 business day turn-around time from receiving to shipping. I had received an email from them on July 25, 2008, claiming they had received the battery I sent to them to be refilled.
I originally contacted them by phone on August 14, 2008. I figured that given their quoted turn-around time, I should have received my battery back by then. When I called the merchant, I was told by an automated message that all their representatives were busy, and so I left a voicemail message. My call was not returned, though I did receive an email the following day.
The email I received said that their shipment of battery cells had been delayed, and would arrive on August 23. It would take 3-4 days to replace the cells in my new battery, after which they would overnight mail the battery back to me. They offered me a refund at this time, but I consented to waiting.
On August 29, I sent the company an email, requesting a status update on my battery, since I had heard nothing about the batteries being replaced, nor about my battery being shipped. To date, I have received no response to this email.
On September 4, I once again attempted to contact the company, by phone. This time, I was again told all the representatives were busy by an automated message. When transferred to voicemail, another automated message said that the mailbox was full. So I was unable to leave a message.
Since I can't even successfully contact the company, it seems like the company has taken my money, and now refuses to do the service they charged me for.

Ordered a laptop battery refill for my ASUS W3 battery. Here's the timeline detailing how I still don't have my battery:
5/30/08 - Placed purchase, cc charged
6/3/08 - Received email stating that they received my battery
6/13/08 - Received email asking for delay of 2-3 weeks to clear out orders. Said that they didn't have cells to refill my battery and that they couldn't buy more cells because the price of the American dollar was depreciating.
6/17/08 - Requested that they refund me and charge me only when my battery ships out. Got the refund on my credit card next day.
Since then, I have called them to inquire about my battery about 2-3 times. Every time they tell me that there's a battery cell shortage and they haven't done my refill yet. They offered a refund, but that's useless as they cracked my battery open already, essentially meaning I'll end up with a battery damaged more than when I had sent it in. I've decided to just opt for the battery to be refilled whenever they get the cells in, which could quite possibly be in a couple more months.
My problem with them is that I feel like they're giving me the runaround. They claim they don't have cells, yet their website is still accepting orders for battery refills. They shouldn't be accepting orders at all if they don't have cells and can't even fulfill my order from nearly 2 months ago. Overall, it feels like a very unprofessional way of doing business.
Buyer beware. Just be ready to not have your battery for a good while and feel like they're feeding you excuses whenever you call customer service. You might want to look into just buying a new battery, as I don't know whether or not the $40 savings is worth months of not having a battery.

Sent a laptop battery to batteryrefill.com for "refilling", since the battery was getting weak. When returned, the battery was dead, and would not charge. Contacted the vendor describing the problem, and the battery was sent a second time. When the battery was returned the second time, the battery case was not completely closed, difficult to get into the computer, and the computer could not charge the battery. The vendor was notified, a request for refund was placed and the vendor made no response after the request for refund. Subsequently, the computer failed. The diagnosis was that the battery had caused failures in the power supply portion of the computer, which is part of the motherboard, and repair would require replacerment of the motherboard. Purchase of a new computer made more economic sense than motherboard replacement, but was a severe additional penalty for using an unknown provider who had promised a "money back guarantee" but provided none.
My dealings with this vendor seem to indicate a lack of knowledge and skill required to perform the work being advertised. I can only recommend to others that this is a vendor to avoid.

This is positive feedback for Battery Refill.
Battery refill ordered 5.4.06 and confirmation and mailing label received promptly.
I packaged and sent the battery for my Sharp RD-10 on 5.5.06. I searched the entire internet and this is the only place I was able to find.
5.10.06 Battery received by company notification.
5.17.06 Battery shipped by company notification. 7 day turnaround is faster then I expected, especially after reading some of the comments on this website.
5.19.06 Battery received in the mail. I deep cycled it six times.
I am happy to report that it works perfectly, and does indeed have about 20% more capacity then it did when I first purchased the laptop.
I will recommend this company to my friends.

I placed an order on 5/7. My card was charged on 5/8. Today (5/16) having not received my battery, I called customer (dis)service, and was very flippantly told they will ship it out in a day or 2. Charging a credit card for an item not yet shipped is illegal, but when I questioned them about this, I got a "who cares" attitude from the phone drone. Was planning on buying at least 1-2 more batteries from them, won't happen now.

THIS IS A FAKE COMPANY!! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. I WISH I HAD READ THE RATINGS ON TIME, BEFORE I ORDERED MY BATTERY.
I PLACED MY ORDER SOMETIME IN OCTOBER 2005. THE PROFFESSIONAL LOOKING WEBSITE ADVERTISES A SEVEN DAY TURN AROUND, IT TOOK ABOUT THREE WEEKS TO FINALLY GET MY BATTERY, I WAS HAPPY UNTIL I INSTALLED THIS NEWLY REFILLED BATTERY. GUESS WHAT, IT DID NOT HOLD CHARGE. MY BATTERY THAT I SENT WAS IN BETTER SHAPE. I CALLED SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT ANY LUCK. FINALLY THEY SENT ANOTHER BATTERY, I NOW HAVE TWO BATTERIES, WELL, THIS TIME IT WAS A DIFFERENT MODEL AND IT DID NOT FIT MY LAPTOP. I CALLED AGAIN SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL I GOT SOMEONE TO ANSWER THE GHOST TELEPHONE. THEY TOLD ME TO SENT THE TWO BATTERIES BACK AND THEY WOULD OVERNIGHT THE RIGHT ONE AS SOON AS THEY GOT THEM BACK. THEY RECEIVED THE BATTERIES AND THE THIRD ONE NEVER CAME. THIS WAS ALREADY MID-MARCH. I CALLED AGAIN SEVERAL TIMES, AND ONE LUCKY DAY, THEY ANSWER THE PHONE.
AFTER MANY LIES AND LOT OF CALLS THEY AGREED TO REFUND MY MONEY. BY THE END OF APRIL I GAVE UP AND STOPPED CALLING THEM.
TODAY IS "5 DE MAYO" AND FINALLY RECEIVED A CHECK FOR $59.00 FROM EBATTERY, INC. 5589 BROOKS ST. UNIT B MONTCLAIR, CA 91763
I THANK THEM FOR THE CHECK, I HOPE IT DOESN'T BOUNCE, BUT I AM STILL MISSING MY BATTERY, THEY NEVER SENT IT, I ALREADY THASHED MY LAPTOP.
THE VERY LEAST THEY CAN DO IS PAY FOR MY BATTERY AND ALL THE PHONE CALLS I MADE OUT MY CELLPHONE.
I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS ONE. BY THIS TIME I HOPE THEY RAN OUT OF EXCUSES.
I GOING TO FORWARD THE STORY TO CLARK HOWARD.

I ordered two batteries for a Thinkpad T-20. One was DOA. The other lasted one deep cycle. I contacted them and sent the batteries back in January. I got the "batteries received" auto-email and then nothing. Repeated e-mail went unanswered. I tried phoning their cust service phone number listed in their e-mail -- it was disconnected. I tried phoning sales -- it rolled over to voice mail. Frankly I thought they were out of business until I saw messages here from March 2006. In the end, I worked with my credit card company and disputed the charge and got my money back. This company is seriously broken.

They have righted their wrong.
They are a legitimate company after all.
I appreciate that they went out of their way to correct their mistake and even changed their return procedures.
I wouldve gone with them even if they had told me it would take 2 months because its such a deal.
PRIORITY #1:
What they need to do though to eliminate complaints like this in the future is to assure the customer that they arent getting ripped off.
Reassure them that it is going to take some time because they have limited staff. and most importantly make sure you get the transaction completed within the 60 day period or somehow reassure them that you will refund their money even if it goes beyond that. Everyone's number one fear here is getting ripped off. I am certain most people would not complain if those fears were put to rest.
Also, I have to consider what razor thin profit margins they must be running on to refill a battery for 42 bucks. Human labor is expensive especially in california. This review was modified by its author, cixel, on

This is our 14838th customer. He ordered one IBM Thinkpad T20 battery exchange for $42 on 12/27/2005 and we shipped back the battery after receiving it on 01/10/2006. We apologize if the battery didn’t work when you received the exchange. Even though we always check the battery before shipping it out, there is still a chance there could be some defect. Our exchange battery policy is that, if the battery doesn’t work, we send out a replacement battery with return box (depending on availability) or we e-mail the customer a Pre-paid postage label to return the battery back to us for repair. We have enough stock of T20 series batteries most of the time, since it is one of our best selling models. We can send you out the replacement battery with return box to return the defective one with. We tried to call this customer, but we could not get a hold of him. We are working hard to meet the increasing volume of customers’ demands. We continue to hire more employees to increase our daily capacity. We will also create an online warranty and RMA request procedure to expedite situations like this one. We will go ahead and post the URL for this new procedure within 24 hours.
Our company address is below:
eBattery, Inc
739 E Cedar St
Ontario, CA 91761
We actually have had a few walk-in customers on a daily basis. They all found us from the Internet like this customer and happened to live in the Los Angeles area. Even though we don’t encourage customers to bring batteries to our corporate office, we are more than welcome to walk-in customers.

After seeing this company's website, i thought that they looked like an honest and legit company, so I didn't hesitate to send my battery in for replacement cells. After about a week from sending my battery in I got an e-mail notification that they had recieved it. Their site says 1-2 days turnaround time, but in reality it took about two weeks. I sent a couple of e-mails and got the same automated response back on all of them. Finally I called them and asked to cancel my order (due to other reviews I read about the company), but the rep said it was ready to be sent out today and he just needed to clarify my address because it wasn't in their computers. So I decided to give them one more chance. My battery came a few days later, I stuck it in my lappy, and off it went! It works very well and I am happy with the product I recieved, but their speed and customer service was horrible!

This is our 15218th customer. We apologize for the confusion. We state on our website that we have a “Fast turn-out time, usually within 7 days of receiving your battery.” We have never stated that 1-2 days turnaround time anywhere on our website. Seven days of receiving your battery doesn’t include delivery time back and forth. If it took around 2 weeks, it’s around average. It may take a little less or longer depending on delivery time, weekends and holidays, and type of batteries. |

Update 1-23-06: I received an email from Battery Refill.com that my $95 was being refunded on Friday, 1-20-06. I emailed them that when the funds actually cleared my acct. I'd be happy to edit this comment. I received confirmation today (and another email).
Hrmmph! Begrudgingly, I give them a Somewhat Satisfied even though it took threats of reporting to the feds to get action. So be it.
___________
I ordered/paid for a battery on Jan. 6, 2006, Invoice # 15371, and decided to cancel. Sent email requesting refund on Jan. 7. Wrote back on Jan. 10 at 4 a.m., repeating request.
On Jan. 10, at 4 pm I called number on website - 800-628-0121 – and spoke to Ian. He checked with accounting and was told that all the refunds were being approved by the [head] and I would probably get my money back the end of this week or early next week. I asked him the name of this person – Kay (local phone numbers were changed to 909-947-3686)
No refund or communicatiion. Called today. Jan. 20, left message regarding dates and transactions. Informed them that I will write feds and credit card security at http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/credit/billed.htm.

I placed an order for a replacement battery (battery swap) for an IBM Thinkpad on Dec 5,2005. I was going to order a Ni-Mh (that is what I have) but was told a Li-Ion would perform much better. I reminded the salesperson that I had a Ni-Mh, (not an even swap) but the salesperson told me it was OK. (Great Deal!) So, when I receive the new battery, I just place my old battery in the same shipping box, affix the included return shipping label and drop it in the mail. Seems simple. I was told that I would have the battery by Xmas (it was a present). I called them on the 22nd looking for a tracking number and was told the battery will not ship until Dec 26. Then I called them on the 27th looking for a tracking number and was told the battery will not ship until Jan 2 2006. Again I called them on Jan 4th looking for a tracking number and was told the battery has not been shipped, and they have no idea when it will ship! I have waited one month. They have my money, and I have nothing. Are they a scam? I don’t think so. Are they a poorly run business? Perhaps. Form your own opinion. I will be contacting my credit card company.

I thought the idea of having my battery refilled to give me better performance than a new battery for less money sounded like a great deal. However what their website doesn't tell you is that the process takes FOREVER and their customer service is horrible.
I placed an order on September 29th, and sent my battery in the same day. It wasn't until October 7th that they sent me an email saying they received it. After having it for 3 weeks, they finally sent it back to me on October 28th. When I received it a few days later, it did not work. It was completely dead and would not charge.
I sent the company several emails which went unanswered. I left a few messages and finally got a call back. I asked how long it would take to get the battery repaired since it took a long time the first time they had it. I was told it should not take very long. I was emailed another pre-paid label and I sent the battery back in. They received it on December 14th, and it's been almost 2 weeks now. I called last week to check the status, and all they would tell me is to call again next week.
I'm sick of waiting, and I would caution anyone thinking of doing business with these people to reconsider.

This is our 11297th customer. The customer ordered a refill service for a Li-ion battery. According to our database, the initial refill service didn’t work so we got the battery back from the customer for warranty service, and unfortunately we were not able to fix the circuit inside the battery pack. We refunded the full purchase, including shipping. Even though we are able to fix the vast majority of the problems on the Li-ion control circuit board inside the battery pack, some problems we are just unable to fix. Obviously, manufacturers will not fully disclose their circuit designs. Once again, we apologize for the problem. |

Dear Customer:
We had problems getting our cell supply on time for this month (May 2005). We are getting factory fresh high-capacity cells from South Korea every first week of the month. However, there was delay in shipment in April since the cells were delivered by vessel (across the ocean). We shipped all the delayed packages by next day delivery service.
