Radio Shack spent two weeks advertising this as a new unit. It is not, it is a demo unit. They are coming with different firmware versions and suspect warranties and availability of map updates. Basically, Radio Shack ran a scam for two weeks. I ordered one unit. Then I got a refund. When I called back they told me they had new units and shipped me another. It was also a demo unit. They insisted that it was not a demo unit. Now they are saying that they are new units mistakenly marked "Demo." But look Radio Shack itself is listing these as "(Demo)'s" now.

Buying from Radio Shack is a big waste of time, they are likely to send you something used and hope you don't return it.

I bought an Axion portable dvd player so that i could watch movies on a long road trip. The device played one movie, then stopped working.I found a Radio Shack in Colorado Springs and took the player in; they confirmed it was not working and kindly switched it out for a new one. I haven't had occasion to try using it again til now, and this second one is now not working either. I took it back to the original store with my receipt. They had zero sympathy, since i had not purchased a service plan or replacement insurance. WHO buys such a plan for something that costs $69.99? So, I let them know that it will be last time I set foot in one of their stores, and I mean it. I could understand if it broke after having it 6 months or a year, but this product was a "lemon" from the start. No wonder it was on sale.

Radioshack cancelled my order for an Altec lansing im600 without me knowing...until it was too late. No one even tried to help me. Our conversation below:

Wrote: I already talked to one of your associates about this issue. I
know the explanation of how my order was placed and canceled by some
sort of discrepancy between the order and the warehouse. What I don't
understand is that I tried to order this item 6 times previously but was
told it was out of stock. Another time I was ordering it and by the time
I placed the order I was told it went out of stock. So I know, for a
fact, that an order cannot be placed unless an item is in stock. So I
was told my order couldn't be filled because the item was out of stock,
despite COMPLETING an ORDER, BEING TOLD it was IN STOCK, and RECEIVING A
CONFIRMATION E-Mail. I am upset because these were christmas presents
and now the sale is over AND NO ONE at radioshack is willing to help me!
I think this is ridiculous and I can't help but feel like I'm being
swindled somehow. I want to know what can be done to fill my order for
the price I actually ordered it for. I know it is available now for
$150. I would like it for the price I ordered it for. I want some
CUSTOMER SERVICE, where someone actually helps me instead of giving me
an excuse that is of no benefit.

According to your website orders are cancelled for (2) reasons:
1) Cancelled on 00/00/0000 due to invalid order information If an error
occurs during the order authorization process it first goes into
suspension while we attempt to reach you for verification, and then it
is cancelled. Once an order is cancelled it cannot be processed and must
be placed again on our website in order to proceed.

2) Cancelled on 00/00/0000 due to invalid payment information Due to
missing or invalid payment information, your order was cancelled. Once
an order is cancelled it cannot be processed and must be placed again on
our website in order to proceed.

My order being cancelled was NOT MY FAULT, but I am being penalized. If
your warehouse has a mix-up, why do I lose my order? As a known company
fairness and customer satisfaction should be the goal. I hope you can
take care of this issue for me.

Thank you,

RA

Their WORTHLESS Response:

Thank you for contacting RadioShack.com.

We apologize, but according to our records, your order was cancelled
because it was out out stock not because of a processing error. We
regret if this has caused you any inconvenience. We operate a real-time
inventory system that updates the content of our website twice a day.
Your order was received and processed before the site was updated to
reflect the change in inventory. Unfortunately, your order could not be
fulfilled.

We are unable to provide a time frame of when we may receive more of the

Again we apologize for the inconvenience.

I purchased 2 cameras from radioshack.com. The deal said that there is a $50 Mail-in-rebate on the camera.
After the order was placed, when I opened the MIR form, it said that the MIR was applicable only if I purchase a printer alongwith a camera. So I immediately called the Customer Service number (1-800-843-7422). Their representative "confirmed" that I was good and I can ignore the online MIR form. He said that I "need not" purchase a printer. Also he said that I'll receive a MIR form alongwith the package and I should send that form and not the online form.
When I received the order, there was no form inside. So I called Customer Service again. Now they said that I should have purchased a printer and that my order was not valid for MIR.
By now, I had already gifted the camera to someone:-(
Radioshack refused to own their customer service representative's mistake. I even talked to their supervisor (Mike - Emp No 73718) and he was rude and not willing to help.
I am not doing any more business with Radioshack.
ALL - BE CAREFUL OF THIS STORE.

Lack of support by real people over the phone, an endless selection of automated message response system before you get to talk to a person. Also ordering system leads buyer to believe that the order is being processed and shipped when the only thing that was done is an shipping order label has been issued but product is not on its way or even in stock as they show online when ordering a part or item. Very frustrating to resolve issues so I will not shop online there again.

I was very displeased with this company. I ordered a Refurbished 30GB Zune MP3 Player and received an email soon after saying it had gone out of stock but my order would be filled when it came back into stock. Later that day I received a conformation email saying the item was back into stock and would be processed and shipped to me. Within 12 hours the status on the order changed to canceled. I did not cancel the order so I emailed customer service and after a full day's worth of emailing back and forth was told, because there was a glitch in the system, more orders were taken than could be filled, and my order was canceled because of this. They told me I would have to wait until the item came back in stock and reorder it, I was not pleased with this response because it was a problem on their end so they should have fixed it. I called customer service today, and after being transfered 5 times and sitting on hold for over an hour collectively, the woman I spoke with, Ester, told me the same thing, that I would have to waste my time to wait until the item came back into stock and reorder it. I told her this was unacceptable, and that the company should at the very least leave my order open, so that it could be filled when and if the item ever comes back into stock again. She told me she could not do that. I asked to speak with her supervisor and she would not let me and gave me instead a mailing address to contact them and the SAME email address I had been communicating with yesterday. I pointed this out to her and she told me that it couldn't be the same address. I made sure she was aware that I will be posting my negative experience on the internet and that NO ONE should do business with their company because they do NOT care about their customers.

I'm surprised this place isn't completely out of business yet.

What I'm NOT surprised about is their low rating on here and stores closing down.

I was interested in buying a certain item, but the website said it was for 'in-store only'. So I check their 'In-store availability' and find that the store nearest me says 'In stock'. Great. I go there only to find out "they don't carry it". What?! The website is still showing 'In stock'. What is the point of having that system if it's inaccurate and make the customer waste gas? Oh, right, if they put 'out of stock' for an 'in-store only' item, they won't get people to come to their already deserted (no exaggeration) store.

The manager -- might I add, he seemed very irritated, unfriendly, and spoke unprofessionally ("Dude"? Does he not know the word "Sir"?) -- either lied (must run in the family - David Edmondson, CEO, anyone?) because it was a special advertised sale price online, compared to the store price; or this company's website is unreliable (it must be run manually by a group of monkeys). Whichever is true, they're both dissatisfying.

When you enter their SMALL electronic store, things are all over the place on the ground and it just really looks like a mess/abandoned store. (It probably will be). There's usually nobody there to help, and when the manager or employee hear the cheap door bell ring, they come out of their little closet. Do all they do is just watch TV in there?

RadioShack is without a doubt, a HAS-BEEN. This company really needs a new makeover and re-train their managers.

Seriously, "RATSHACK" should be their name.
This company's new slogan seems to be "Do Stuff." -- Wow, like totally, nice slogan *DUDE!*

The manager/employees, the company in general, just seem to be doing "stuff" than what real businesses should be doing. Their old slogan used to be "You've Got Questions. We've Got Answers." Obviously they abolished that because they never have the right answers. Instead, they just "DO STUFF"...

These are not my videos, but this pretty sums up the image of this company: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsI14WFP89k
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoYTmXS1llo (at 0:50, you can hear the 'cheap door bell sound' yet the manager and employee seem to be goofing off)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qbnn7VoTwGs

Again, how are they still in business when most of their managers and employees act unprofessional? Obviously Corporate does not care. I read they even fire employees via email. How cheap is that?

And there's many more videos/sites of their poor services if you look for it. Although I'm sure RadioShack isn't alone; the behavior in those videos are pretty much how many retail stores in America act like. It's ironic how hard working people get laid off while goof-offs like them just sit and get paid. Something really needs to be done.

Needless to say, I despise this company.

Regarding online order. Was lied to several times, items were back ordered, they refused to refund and cancel my money, their sales manager told me that I was lied to and said the support was bad, and finally they told him that if I refuse the package they will never refund it... I thought these guys were supposed to be professional?

I purchased a Sprint LG Rumor phone from a local Radio Shack. I was told I'd have 30 days to decide if I liked it and could exchange it for another phone for any reason whatsoever. I gave the phone to my wife and she decided to she wanted a different color, but same model phone. I took the phone back to the store and was told they didn't have that color in stock yet, but showed me their sample of that color. It was promised to be in before the 30 days were up. About 3 days before the time expired the manager told us it would take a couple of weeks longer, but that he was the manager and he could do whatever he wanted, so he extended the exchange time to whenever he got the new phone in. After two months and total "run-around" from every employee in the store, I attempted to call the Home Office or Customer Service Headquarters. I never got to speak to a person and left numerous messages. Never got a phone call back from either the Home Office or from the local store. I had been a long-time loyal customer. This is not a big deal, but the principle of the matter is that they advertise one thing, but do another. Totally unreliable local and Customer Service.

My husband went into the Radio Shack at 3201 Macon Rd., Columbus, Ga. this morning to buy a fuse for a dvd player. The salesclerk told him she couldn't read the fuse number,(which was very legible). He came to the car, I wrote the fuse number on a piece of paper and he went back in. She then told him she needed to know the amps of the dvd player. We go home, I look for the amps on the player and can't find it. I call Radio Shack, talk to the manager? and read the numbers on the fuse to him. He said it was a 2amp fuse and they had them in stock. The numbers on the fuse told him what type and the amperage. I asked him why an employee would not know that, and he said it must have been a stock boy my husband talked to. I go back to the store to get the fuse,(the woman salesclerk helping? someone else)and tell mgr? I am the one that called for the fuse. He sells me the fuse, and I said, (I guess you need to get magnifiying glasses for your employees. He said in a very sarcastic tone, (ya think?). I said, (People come to Radio Shack instead of Wal-Mart because they think the employees know a little more about electronics). The mgr? said, (You have a good day). Well, I haven't had a good day because I was running back and forth to Radio Shack. Betcha next time I run around, it will be to Wal-Mart, and I'm sure I'll pay about half the price for the item purchased.

Ordered a refurb Zune 30 GB when it was finally in stock. The order process went through just fine. They even sent me an email confirmation. I even checked later on and the Zune was still showing as in stock. Next day, they sent an email that said they regret to inform me that they were unable to complete my order and that the item was unavailable. This is not the first bad experience I have had with Radio Shack's online store. I am done doing business with them.

Must be one of the worst online sites..I have tried to order a product Seven times. Each time the item is in stock and 24 hrs later I get an email telling my order has been canceled. I have spoken with their CS people and had them place the order 3 times. One of them told me that their inventory io only updated once a date. I also spoke with a supervisor who told me they were having issues with their database and inventory control...TWO Words FIX IT...

I will never buy anything from Radio Shack again. This is the second time that I have bought something from them and it hasn’t worked and they won’t take it back.
I bought my Dad this GPS for Fathers day. Since he lives 800 miles away, I ordered it online and had it shipped to him. I did not order a refurbished model but I think that’s what we got. When he opened the package all that was in the box was the GPS itself. No power cord, no windshield mount, not even an instruction booklet. He had the packing slip (It’s says, you have bought a returnable item and it can be returned at any Radio Shack store) and the email receipt that I had forwarded to him and he went to his local store to return it. They refuse to even look at it. They say since he bought it online that he has to return it to the manufacture. They had several of the same units sitting on the shelf but they refused to exchange it. They said they won’t take it because it is only missing things and not broken. We don’t know if it works or not because we can’t turn it on without the power cord. They won’t even give him the items that are missing from it. They would not do a thing. He even tried another store but they wouldn’t help him either. I sent Radio Shack an email explaining the situation and they sent me their automated response that someone will get back to me in 24 hours. I have heard nothing else from them. So now my Dad has this great Fathers day present that doesn’t work and if he sends it back he has to pay the shipping. I’m cutting up my Radio Shack credit card. I won’t be needing it.

Stay away from Radioshack.com. Their customer service responds, but takes no action on any request. It has been 25 days since they received back my cancelled order, yet I have not received any credit to my credit card. Now I have to go through the dispute process with my Credit Card company.

This was my first order attempt at RadioShack.com. I placed the order on Sunday evening 4/20 at 9:00PM. Thier site states orders can be cancelled online as long as the order is not being processed. I receive an order confirmatiuon email immediately after I placed the order. 30 minutes after I ordered, I found the need to cancel the order. I immediately go to their website to cancel the order, but their site states my order number doesn't exist. Their site also states to allow up to 1 hour for a placed order to show up, so I wait an hour and 15 minutes. Still, my order does not exist. So I call to cancel it, and the CS agent can't find my order number either so he says he cannot cancel it. I hang up and send them a "contact us" message on their site to cancel my order. Over two hours after I placed the order, after 11:00PM, Sunday April 20, and still my order does not exist online, so I go to bed.

The next morning, surprise, my order shows up and is being processed so it won't give me the option to cancel it. Later, I get a response to my email from the previous evening stating that my order cannot be cancelled because it is now being processed. The order is shipped in two parts, one on Monday, the other on Tuesday. One was shipped from Illinois, the latter from Texas. I get billed for both parts of the order. They made no effort to stop either order, even knowing the situation where I contacted them the previous evening. Their response was that their order system was down for several hours for regular maintenance Sunday evening.

I requested that they contact FedEx ground and stop the order. They did not, so I did. I never received either part of the order. FedEx returned both parts of the order to the shipping locations - the first part (Il) on 4/25 at 10:11AM (signed for by T. Travis) and the other (Tx) on 4/30 at 10:51AM (signed for by Elvira).

Today is 5/20 and I have yet received any credit on either shipped portion of the order (they were billed separately). I have sent them several emails during this process. They respond to all with an apology and some reason for the delay. All I know is they have done nothing at all, except charge me for an order that I did all I could to cancel before they shipped it.

Don't bother with Radioshack.com.

I received the two Wii recharge stataions by Gigaware on Friday, 01/04/08. The 1st unit plugged in fine.. The 2nd unit, as soon as I plugged in both controllers, only one lighted up.. After removing the controller, I noticed one of the two wire prongs has fallen off.. Just like that, broken on 1st use/try..

Calling the customer service to request for a replacement was a nightmare.. The SR insisted that I broke the product, because "Radioshack always inspect all units before shipping and if it failed in my hands - I must have broken it"..
Request to talk to the supervisor, got the answer "I'm in charge; I'm the administrator here.."..

I've never encountered any retailers that insist on blaming the customers.. What happens to the service in customer service?! I'm taking my business elsewhere - that's for sure..
