Pleasant shopping experience. This store doesn't just have an attractive website, it is a full customer support center for the products they sell. They really do take care of their customers. My first purchase was a $419.00 Jensen car audio dvd head unit. I decided to buy from this store because the price was comparable to others on the Internet with free installation kit and wiring harness. Buying the head unit was as easy and secure as other well liked stores on the Internet. When I recieved the product, it was brand new and packaged professionally. After installing the unit in my truck, I was very disappointed in the sound quality as well as some glitches in the operation of the unit. I contacted Sonic Electronix customer support and the staff was very understanding about my frustrations, they immediately emailed me an RMA# to return the unit and gave me solid advice on making an informed decision. I told them what I was looking for (sound quality)in a unit and I was concerned about replacing the defective unit with the same. The customer support person was very knowledgable about the products that they sell and suggested that I consider a different unit. The alternate unit was a Kenwood that did not come with all the bells and whistles that the Jensen did (though could be purchased as accessories later)but the sound quality would be no comparison. The Kenwood was a little more than the Jensen ($280.00 more)but Sonic Electronix gave me an excellent discount for my troubles. I requested that I keep the Jensen in my truck until the Kenwood arrived so that I did not have my truck dash torn down for two weeks waiting on the other unit and they said that would not be a problem. I also recieved a two year warranty on the Kenwood. After spending 12 hours taking out the Jensen and installing the Kenwood I was beginning to think that all this work for a nice truck stereo wasn't worth the trouble and time invested, until I turned the Kenwood on. Wow! Awesome! What a difference in sound quality! I am now very satisfied with my truck system. I returned the Jensen for a refund. ---- I understand that a retailer doesn't make what they sell and therefore my frustrations were toward the manufacturer and not Sonic. However, Sonic Electronix and their knowledgable staff took the time to help me every step of the way. It's one thing to get a good bargain but to throw in A+++++ customer support, well that should satisfy any reservations that you may have concerning this store. I will purchase all my car audio from this store in the future, no exceptions! Congrats Sonic Electronix you have gained another very satisfied customer.

I did initially have a problem with sonic electronix when it came to shipping. But after a complaint was file they were willing to do just about anything to resolve the issue and make sure that, I as the customer, were taken care of. This kind of service and loyalty to the customer is unheard of these days. Needless to say they did earn my business back, Along with my friends a family who will be ordering from them very shortly!

Edit: Management at SonicElectronix actually took the time to call me in regards to this issue. They were very nice and assured me that they are having my amp drop shipped from their supplier. He also gave me a credit towards a future purchase. While it is unfortunate that I had to go through this I do appreciate his concern and commitment to customer service. He assured me that they are committed to the satisfaction of their customers and used this as a training opportunity. I amending this review because of this.  
 
I recently decided to put a sound system in my car when I found sonicelectonix.com. After much research I found the perfect amp on their site. The site indicated the item was in stock with free delivery. I was pleased to find the perfect amp at a good price so I placed my order. The next day I checked the status to find that it said "processing" so I decided to give them a call. After holding for a rep I was told that the item was not in stock and was only stocked after the customer ordered the item. I was told to call back later on in the day to see if any of the units came in. I felt like the rep was just trying to get rid of me so I called back a couple of hours later to talk with someone else. This paticular rep informed me that the item was not in stock and that it would probably be discontinued. The rep was quick to cancel my order and issue a refund. There was no offer of a comparable amp at the same price. Any reputable vendor would have at least tried to help the customer since it was their mistake. I guess what they say is true. "If it looks to good to be true, it probably is."

Great buying experience. Sonic Electronics shipped the radio (a Pioneer Premier DEH-P700BT with a couple of free accessories) very fast and the items arrived exactly as described and in perfect condition. I will definitely consider them for future items.

Who the heck knows... you guys sent me the wrong wiring harness. After an hour or so putting it together and wow... wrong harness. I'm sure the product is good but you guys need to rehire your "electronic experts" or "packaging" department.

If the incorrect harness was sent, we can resent the right one free of charge. Customer must contact our warranty/returns department for instructions

I recently purchasd the Audiobahn AVM372DVD overhead system. I was looking for quality for the cheapest price. Unlike most people I would have been happy with a used unit as long as its quality and function was not compromised. The unit was advertized as factory refurbished and was exactly what I was looking for. I was amazed when it came and was brand new in appearance other than a few very very hard to see abrasions. I installed the unit in an '04 Ford Expedition. I have never been a real fan of Audiobahn products but the price that Sonic electronics offered the unit for, twisted my arm and forced me to make the purchase. I am now at a loss for the right words to describe how satisfied I am with the product. I did a lot of research before I purchased and the majority of dealers are laughing at their customers on their way to the bank because their prices on low quality merchandise is astronomical. Comparing price, quality and service combined Sonic Electronics has convinced me that they are a top shelf business. I do not put my information over the internet when I purchase I always call my order in. That being said, one of the people I talked to was less than pleasant and helpful. I was immediately worried and almost changed my mind about giving my information. However, when I called back, everyone I spoke with was very helpful and professional.  
 
The moral to this novel that I have written is that other than one employee that has the "thats not my job attitude", I am "infinity" satisfied with the service received and exceptionally satisfied with the product I purchased so far.  
I would recommend the product and sonic electronics service to my best friend and I will!  
Without a doubt the best "price/quality" combined offered on the internet. With the five star rating system I would have to find the six.

ive tried over 20 times to contact anyone in 6 different ways at this company and have failed at every attempt  
 
they owe me 35 dollars according to their "we will match any price guarantee"  
 
25 dollars for the receiver and 10 dollars for the 6x9's  
 
i spent close to 500 dollars at their store  
 
i had many questions before and after shopping and was never given the respect of even a simple email  
 
i will tell everyone i know never to shop at this website  
 
i hope they all choke on their christmas cooking

Avoid at all costs. This place is nothing but a "Bait and Switch" operation. They list stuff they know people want and then when they see it is delayed its the old "Do you want to switch to another product?" statement. I ordered a Sony Head unit on 10/24. It showed processing. I waited 5 days and I called them to see what was the status. Answer: "Its on backorder do you want switch to another product?". My response was "No". They said it would be in on Tuesday. Guaranteed. Well, called Tuesday morning. Yep. it will be sent out today. Great. Didn't get an email Tuesday and again the status was processing. called Tuesday night right before they closed. Yep. It going out tonight. Well, did not happen. Called Wednesday, got a different guy on the phone. Oh, the parts on backorder. "Can I switch you to another product?" No. you can cancel my order, Ahole! The thing that miffs me is that they already charged my CC. Why? They don't have it in stock.

This line from their return policy should run red flags with everyone...  
 
"There will be absolutely no refund or exchange on any item that has been opened, used, and/or shows signs of abuse or wear including the packaging of the item."  
 
How the heck are you supposed to know if what you got is good and working if you cant even open the package?  
 
Their support needs alot of work if they want to become a successful company.

I called them to order a Kenwood DPX701 headunit for my car. I specifically asked the sales associate if they had it in stock, and his reply was "yes". Great.  
7 days go by and I still do not have a tracking number and it the order still shows processing. I call up to see what the hold up is, and this Sales Associate explains they do not have it stock. I asked if they knew when they would be getting it back in stock, he said there is no indication of any time soon. So the first guy lied to me by saying it was in stock. Fine. I ask the sales rep to kindly cancel the order. He said OK, tells me the order is cancelled and apologized for any confusion.  
The following week, I receive an e-mail with a tracking number that says that my item has shipped. ??? I call up and this sales rep says the order was never cancelled. I speak to his manager and I tell him to recall the package and not to charge my card. No problem he says, "I'll call you back if we have any problems" the package is recalled and my card IS charged. No call back. I call my bank, explain the issue and they take it into their hands. 1 month later, the amount is credited back to my account, missing 15.00. BoA says no fault was done and that the amount not given back was to cover shipping costs. WHICH BY THE WAY WERE FREE FOR THE ITEM I PURCHASED.  
 
BOGUS COMPANY. Save yourself the almost guaranteed headache and buy from an honest dealer.  
 
I purchased it from Crutchfield for $150 more, AND COULDN'T BE HAPPIER with my purchase and 2 year warranty from the manufacturer, instead of it being warrantied through these knuckleheads. $150 dollars is small price for piece of mind, knowing that I am getting a legitmate product backed by a MANUFACTURER warranty  
 
They can't handle an order, do you really think they can repair the products they sell?  
 
NEVER WILL THEY GET MY BUSINESS AGAIN.

Tues 3/30/04 Bought Kicker DX700 amp from Sonic Electronix.com. 168.63. Order number 11851.  
 
Thurs 4/19/04. Requested RMA for repairs.(amp stops working.. no cause)  
 
5/9/04 Received email support, refering to warranty dept.  
 
5/15/04 Received Original RMA, sent amp back w/ $15 money order for return shipping.  
 
8/9/04 Inquiry Followup. -> Still out.  
 
10/3/04 Email followup(no response)  
 
10/12/04 2nd email followup(no response)  
 
10/26/04 3rd email followup(no response)  
 
10/27/04 4th email to resolve. RMA was denied.  
 
11/15/04 Called to speak to owner (Chris) claims "Kicker will not warrant it, but they will send it to kicker to get repair today as a courtesy" stated "it was never sent to kicker" -Received RMA 399442 on order 11851.  
 
3/14/05 Contacted Chris via toll-free -states it's still out for repairs at kicker, and not sent back yet. -will give call to kicker to followup, "we're expecting it anytimenow"  
 
6/2/05 Called sonic Electronix 1-877-289-7664.. They did not answer. Phone just rang for 20 minutes and it disconnected me. Atempted 3 times and spent a total of 40 minutes letting phone ring. -emailed support to have owner contact me. got computer generated notice same day stating they will "Try to get back to me withing 24 hours".  
 
Still waiting. if no response in 5 business days. I'll be contacting The Better Business Bureau.  
 
Unfortunately I don't think I will be hearing from the owner(Chris) anytime soon. And it really is unfortunate for me. they still have my Amp, and they still have the 15 bucks I sent them as return postage for my amp. They are the worst. I would not recommend buying from them. Even if they gave you free stuff.

I purchased some sound equipment from these folks as a just in time Christmas present for the wife. After going through a great ordeal about not wanting to scan my drivers license and send it to them, I agreed to scan a copy of my credit card statement to prove that I was the valid credit card owner. They assured me that everything was taken care of, even though I felt it was all handled in rudest possible manner. When I did not get a shipping notice the next day, I called and they said it would ship the following day. I called the next day and was told that they were unable to verify the info on my credit card and were going to cancel my order. All this after making it plain that I would find someone else who could take the order if they didn't want it. They lied to me twice and then couldn't ship the product anyway. Stay away from these folks.
