Red Envelope obviously does not care about customer service. I ordered several items, confirmed the order myself and then when I checked my e-mail, they sent me a confirmation which was not correct. I called them back but they said they can not do anything about it unless it was within 5 minutes of the time I received the email. The manager (I think her name was Crystal) was very rude, condescending, unprofessional and could not care less about helping to resolve the problem.

I ordered Pearls Lariat from Red Envelope to be delivered to my moms office for Mothers Day. She opened the Beautiful Red Gift Box only to find my personal note and NO GIFT in side the box! I will NEVER trust Red Envelope to handle my moms special day or anyones for that matter. I can only imagine the pain and confusion she must have felt while opening this in front of her friends at work. I'll never forgive Red Envelope for embarassing me and my mom.

Very decepitve advertising. They sent out a coupon code. I bought a product with the code, they shipped it toward my house. Then they contacted UPS with the package on the truck and retracted the product saying the coupon was an accident. They now have some of my money and I have to worry about a refund of a product I didn't receive.

Ordered on Dec. 15th. Awful customer service. Long hold times. Promised to expedite shipping three times after the item didn't ship on time. Still in warehouse on the 28th - ARgggggh! If you can get the same product elsewhere, you should.

On-line retailer has nice, but over-priced products. Absolutely horrible customer service. Items ordered for Christmas gifts were never delivered, although credit card was charged immediately. Website order status is not updated. Telephonic customer service is nearly impossible to reach--up to 2 hours of hold time. Automated response to e-mail, then 5 to 6 days before follow-up, if any. Finally reached them on late Christmas eve, even then was put on hold for an extended period after indicating I wanted to cancel the order. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY AROUND THE HOLIDAY PERIOD. BUYER BEWARE!!!!

First and last order with Red Envelope. I placed an order on December 19th and paid $15.90 for Express Shipping (2-3 day shipping). I never received any emails from customer service about the status of my shipment. Tried to call Customer Service and heard on their recorded message, "If you are calling about an ordered item we have upgraded all shipping to assure arrival by Friday, December 23rd". Checked my order online and found out my order had shipped on Friday. Attempted to use their tracking system (UPS) but according to UPS the tracking number is invalid. Not happy. Red Envelope is NOT recommended.  
 
It is now Saturday, December 24th. Just found out from Red Envelope that my package is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday, December 27th.  
 
Package arrived on Tuesday. I talked with customer service and complained about the delay. I was told they would refund the shipping and discount my order by 20%. As of today (Jan. 2, 2005). There has been no refund posted to my account. I will now begin the process of trying to get my refund from Red Envelope.

First time buyer-  
 
I was a little hesitant to buy from Redenvelope because I wasn't familiar with their company. I was pleasantly surprised when they had the item I was looking for and I received my purchase in a reasonable time. I ordered moon shoes for 2nd day delivery and recv it in 3 days. Not bad. The only negative thing I have to say is that their prices are high. I paid $51 with shipping for the moon shoes and later found them at Target for $24. It really hurt to see how much I had overpaid!

Slow shipping. Five days after ordering it still shows "Preparing to Ship"......for a clearance item that they are discontinuing and only one color is left in stock. I am used to internet vendors who ship same day or next day. If they can't ship then they send an e-mail advising when it will be shipped. I've heard nothing from Red Envelope......

Placed an order for a ginger bread house. Yes, you read correctly... A delicate, fragile ginger bread house through the company. Ordered as a gift to be delivered before Christmas, I truly thought that it would arrive in pieces. Shipped overnight for delivery on Christmas Eve, not only did the box arrive in one piece--but so did the ginger bread house!  
 
Despite the company's outrageously high prices, the gift service that they offer is unparalleled in my mind. I was highly impressed by the company's ability to not only quickly get my order to me, but to get it to me whole and intact.  
 
To offset the company's high prices, be on the lookout for online coupons. Many exist and can make the company look much more attractive in terms of affordability for last-minute gifts.
