I have made two orders from this company recently, attracted to their low cost. I regret that decision.
My forst order I received 11 days after I ordered it, and it was damaged. It was collected free of charge swiftly which was good, and I had asked for a direct replacement. I did not get the replacement, simply an email stating they are refunding my account. I am still waiting for the money.
My second purchase, 2 hard drives and a controller card with a cable. The hard drives did not arrive after I made a priority delivery order. That was several days ago. They have debited the sums for he drives already, but have made no reply to my 2 emails, and three online 'enotes'. They have no phone number to call in case of problems like this. I managed to find a number through Citylink (their couriers). EBuyer kept me on hold for just over 20 minutes with not even a request for my enquiry, at which point I gave up.
I have read some very disturbing reports, including a magazine report on extremely bad customer service from this company. I certainly will never use them again.

I've always been happy with Ebuyer until recently when I had to return something.
Their returns process is all done on-line - you cannot "talk" directly to anyone, and you cannot add to or modify the RMA process/notes once you have submitted the original RMA request. This process took two weeks which didn't help as I needed the part quickly, but they warned in my case it could take 3 weeks. It took 8 days from when they received the item to when they opened the box and saw that it was (visibly) broken.
You cannot respond to the RMA notes.
You cannot call them directly.
E-notes are the only way of contacting them but: -
They only promise to get back within 4 business days and
You can only have one open E-note at any time.
All in all, their prices are GREAT, this is the only problem I have had, the returns process is straight forward but you have no control over it and it is too slow. If it is one of the "free shipping" items I would recommend asking for a refund instead of a replacement, and getting a new item shipped out as a separate order. The week that this takes for the free shipping is still faster than their returns process. This review was modified by its author, phil_derrick, on

ordered a whole new computer in single components. recieved 4 out of 5 parcels a day later than planned and am still waiting for the last parcel now- one whole month later. the customer service is AWFUL with their pathetic 'enotes' and there is no contact number for them. you may as well talk to yourself tbh.

Ordered TFT Monitor, HDD and a cooler from Ebuyer on Monday. Since I needed the monitor urgently I paid extra money for priority delivery and been promiced that I will receive goods 12 of January. ( My order status still says "Deliver by 12 January" ). On 12 of January I've received HDD and a cooler ( total sum 100 pounds ) but the most expensive item, the monitor which costs 700 pounds is still in the shop. They don't reply to eNotes and I can't find any other contact information on the web site. I'd not recommend to buy anything expensive from them especially if you need it urgently.
Update: Finaly I have received the monitor 26th of January but still no single answer to my 3 eNotes This review was modified by its author, bogerm, on

I have been using eBuyer since June 2002 and have experienced no major issues apart from my most recent order where it was impossible to get in touch with them apart from eNotes and emails being sent out late regarding delivery dispatch.
Never had to send a purchase back so I cant comment on their returns service but I understand others here have had huge problems. This review was modified by its author, brownn01, on

I ordered a Samsung TFT monitor and a couple of low value items on 4th January. The 2 low value items arrived OK on the 10th as promised but no TFT monitor.
Ebuyer's website showed 3 parcels as part of the City Link consignment. I contacted City Link who only have 2 parcels in the consignment. As they have delivered the goods as described they are happy.
Ebuyer show all 3 parcels delivered, each organisation's paperwork makes sense to them and they are all happy, the only fly in the ointment is that I have paid £320 for a monitor I haven't received. I have left an enote query about this but expect no answer given the opinions recorded here. I wouldn't order anything of value from this bunch of wide boys as it looks like I will need to spend many hours over many weeks to get my money back. Its pure and simple theft in my opinion and I may yet report it to the Police as such.
Recomendation Don't get your bargepole within 100 miles of these people, they stink. Just to be clear, I don't blame the staff, just the owner.

Staggeringly disapointing customer service. Despite offering some of the cheapest prices around shopping here poses a risk if things go wrong.
After purchasing from ebuyer three times in 2004 I am no longer inclined to buy from them again. The revelation about ebay came when my DVD writer became faulty. They now seem to be ignoring my messages to them. My enote of 15th Dec 04 is still 'open' and has not been dealt with. The enote before that (21/10/04) was closed by ebuyer without any reply after a two week wait.
So if you're thinking of spending serious money on computer equipment and think you can save money, think what it may cost if things go wrong.

Puchased several items on the 12/12/04 (all in stock) items were meant to have been delivered by the 24th, they werent no explansion has been given Tried to contact them on teh 20th using Enote (only way to communicate with these cowboys) got a standard reply telling me that tehy will reply in 2 buisness days, 9 days later no one has. Close that enote and started another got the same email it will take 2 days to reply.
My Christmas is spoilt because of thsi dreadful company. They took my money quickly enough on teh 12th but no goods. I cant cancel the order it wont let me, so dare not reorder else where for fear of being billed twice. Stay clear of this shoddy out fit.

I ordered a digital camera and memory card from ebuyer on 18/12/04 as a christmas present for my wife. Recieved an email on 22/12/04 stating that the camera was discontinued so they would not be sending it, they did post the memory card (not much use without the camera). Why did it take 4 days for them to discover they didn't have the camera leaving me no time to order from elsewhere. Tried enote to them but no reply. Amazingly they are still showing the camera Casio EZ-X40 as being in stock on their web site 27/12/04. I will not be purchasing from them again and would advise others not to.

If everything works ebuyer is OK. If it goes wrong, particularly since you can no longer call them, they have become a nightmare. It is now over 3months since I returned a video card for a warranty repair. Broken promises, no resposnses to complaints - you can't escalate the problem since you only have 1 email address. Site says they are making huge improvements in service - what a joke!

I got charged an extra £25 for some reason on my order. £15 of that was then refunded but what about the other £10? Whats going on? I complained, they apologised said they'd refund the difference. A month passes, nothing done. I compain again, am told "it was already refunded", I complain again, "no it wasn't", they say "sorry It will be done", still nothing.. this happens again and again. In the end I have SIX emails lying to me and to this day have STILL not been refunded money they took from my credit card without authorisation. I finally get angry and request this 'total moron' Dave Moss stop dealing with it and it be passed onto a manager, when he has the cheek to say "if I am rude again they will terminate my account!" What do they expect when they lie again and again and again.
I finally ring up to complain and get given the run around by John Morris (the supervisor) as he explains how it's not Dave's fault etc etc. I expected an apology but the main focus seems to be "how dare I be rude?" When they have shown me so little respect by deceiving me SIX times. Unbelievable. Incidentally this is not a one off. In the past I have even had to threaten legal action to get money back from ebuyer and many of my friends have similar horror stories.
You buy choose to buy from EBuyer cos they are cheap box shifters, but buyer beware. IF they 'accidentally' overcharge you, or you have other problems, DO NOT expect ANY support. They just do NOT care! Buy Cheap, pay Twice! is the EBuyer M.O This review was modified by its author, UK_ANGRY, on

I was recently obliged to shop at Ebuyer for some component we required. After my card was debited £5000 they decided to ship me 10 boxes of 1 DVD writer rather than 10 boxes of 10. As far as Ebuyer were concerned the problem was with my and their courier. They shipped 11 boxes, we received 11 boxes, and I was £4500 down. Their approach to customer service is laughable, I have never experienced a more infuriating and contemptuous approach to meeting my needs, locating the missing product and/or getting me my money back. IT IS NOT THE FAULT OF THE STAFF, WHO SEEMED TO BE DOING ALL THEY COULD, HOWEVER THERE PROCESSES LEAVE THEM PARALYSED, thanks amanda and keeley. I would advise anyone that is serious about making a purchase from a professioanl company to Steer Clear of EBUYER. Especailly if, you want to receive the product within the timeframe you pay for, expect to receive the product your ordered, expect to be able to resolve the problems EBUYER experience with your order quickly and easily. I understand their target for 2005 is to double their turnover - God help the consuming public, dont be tempted by low prices and a good looking website - you will find that you are buying into a longterm realtionship that will bring endless pain and suffering, financial loss and a sort of worried anxious feeling that is difficult to shake.
