In the TOP 5 worst companies I've ever dealt with!
Ordered some memory from them which arrived D.O.A, returned it (using my time and money).
They agreed it was dead and said they'd send out a new item.
This was sent by untraceable Royal Mail, so it promptly disapeared without a trace. I called them to be told that they wouldn't do anything for 14 days!!!!!!
Why am I paying for a courier delivery in the first place, and then after their item is faulty, being held to the mercy of the worst delivery system in the country!
The worst thing was the attitude of the call centre supervisor, to sum up his atitude the frase "tuff **** now go away" would cover it.
THE WORST INTERNET COMPANY I'VE DEALT WITH!!!!!

I have not had any major problems with Ebuyer except for City link poking a hole through a package once. Fortunately they item was undamaged.
They don't package things as well as other retailers i've used, and i've been pleasantly surprised that the items have arrived in good condition each time! :-s
Prices are very competetive, and speed of delievery ok. Order tracking is not the greatest, as is often the case with city link. It's fine once the order is half way to you, but the consignmeny number always shows up as non-existent for about 24 hours from when the item is dispatched.
I've not had the misfortune to need to return anything.
As with all stores that compete on price rather than service, there is a small element of risk involved. You just hope you won't need after-sales service.

Ebuyer are great when all goes well, if you need to contact them if they've made an error, they're too slow.
On the whole i've had good service from them, prompt delivery and cheap prices.
Not all their stock is UK official, i think they have a few grey imports, just be aware, and enjoy the lower prices.

Shipping and handling at eBuyer is pathetic.
Their choice of courier (CityLink in Bournemouth) is good.
Customer Service Response: Timely, but ineffective!!!
I needed a large capacity hard disk to transfer videos from my camcorder tapes and make DVDs. So I looked around and came across a 200GB ATA Hard Disk at ebuyer and a firewire cable.
What I received a few days later, was a 120GB SATA Hard Disk!! The firewire cable came in a package as big as a shoebox with enough bubble wrap to make a pillow. And guess where the cable was in the box, on one side!! SO much for wasting such a load of packaging material! Someone at the warehouse had been binge drinking at work!!
Anyway, once I got over it, I promptly put in an RMA request. It was approved the next day and I shipped it back to ebuyer through Special Delivery and tracked it to delivery by 9AM next day.
2 days on, I received another email, telling me that a collection had been approved for the item!! What??? Hmmm. Doesn't inspire confidence.
Ok, I decided to try out eNotes for a 'speedy and effective response to my query' I couldn't fail to notice that on the website, they indicate that 'We currently have a 7 day turn around in answering your eNotes.' and Just below it .. 'Returns: Current turnaround is 3 days.' Does it take more time to look up shipment details on the system and respond to an email??
Anyway, I put in an eNote describing the issue and also added a note that even after 2 days of Royal Mail showing the status of the package having been delivered at Sheffield, their system status shows that the item has not been received.
I got a response that day .. ebuyer management has decided to update returns status only after it has been processed and that this move has apparently reduced the turn around time of returns to 7 days. Ok dude.
Nine clear working days later, I am wondering, if this is 'speedy' what is slow by ebuyer's standards. I put in another eNote asking for an ETA on receiving what I had ordered.
The response I get is shocking .. 'Unfortunately we are still showing as not yet having received your return. Please send a copy of your proof of delivery (POD) signature. ' !! Guys. what have you been doing when I pointed this out a week back already???
I am still battling it out with these guys!! It's been 3 weeks since I ordered the items in the first place. I am demanding a cancellation and refund now. Am also keeping options open to approach the trading standards agency. If you have knocked their door, would appreciate if you can send me a brief note on how to go about with the process.
Lesson here is: As long as lady luck smiles at you and you don't have to put up with ebuyer customer service, that's OK. But the day your luck runs out, you'll realise that you are better of staying miles away from these guys!! This review was modified by its author, xprezons, on

I ordered a Gigabyte GV-N66T128D 6600GT 128MB 128bit AGP and a Corsair (VS512MB400) 512MB, DDR400 / PC3200 from eBuyer on Wednesday 31st August.
As I need both these parts to upgrade my current system so that I can start my college course this year, I ordered both parts for next day delivery.
I didn't receive these goods the next day (Thursday 1st September) so I sent them an "eNote".
I got a reply within 5 minutes from Natalie. She said there was a processing error and that it was too late for the goods to reach me today. She refunded me for the next day delievery.
I was then woken today (Friday 2nd August) at 8:35 by a delivery from Intial CityLink. There was only 1 package for me, but eBuyer's website said 2.
I signed for it anyway as I wanted the delivery. It was the graphics card. I installed it and it works fine. No problems there.
I went onto Ebuyer's website and got the link to my job number at Initial CityLink. Their website stated "Order successfully delivered". I felt this was wrong as I have still yet to receive my RAM.
I sent another "eNote" to Ebuyer explaining the situation. Again, within 5 minutes I got a reply, this time from Daniel. He said that the database said there is a delay with my RAM and that it won't get to me until Monday 5th August.
From an order of Next Day Delivery I am now waiting at least 5 days for my product. I find this unacceptable.
Their prices are cheaper than other online competitors but their delievery service is severley lacking.
I will not be buying from Ebuyer again.
UPDATE - Received the RAM on the Monday 5th August.
I'm still highly disappointed with their service. This review was modified by its author, ThomasGibbs, on

Like many others I have been well satisfied with this company, both in prices and delivery. But like others, when things go wrong, I've discovered that it can be very frustrating. I recently ordered parts to build a new computer. However they sent the wrong motherboard (an Abit AG8, whereas I ordered an Abit AG8-3rd Eye). I returned it immediately.
I was then told that it would take fifteen working days for a replacement to be sent out. When I queried this I was told that Ebuyer does not actually stock most items - they seem to be a kind of "agent" for the resellers - and it is the resellers who update the Ebuyer pages with the amount of stock that is held, and it is the resellers who insist on making the replacement - and specify the fifteen working days. In practice this amounts to about three calendar weeks, more if there are any bank holidays.
So I waited patiently. After fifteen days no replacement was forthcoming. In fact, on the fifteenth day the item was actually removed from Ebuyer's web site!
At this point I asked for a refund. As I managed to source the motherboard elsewhere at a cheaper price I told Ebuyer to just refund the cost of the motherboard and I would forget the £6.95 that it cost me to send the mobo back. I was pleased that, within a week, Ebuyer refunded not only the cost of the motherboard but also the £6.95 that I had told them to forget!
I have to say that I had no problem in communicating with Ebuyer. All my enotes were answered, most within a few hours and all within 36 hours. And so, I would agree with another poster that, if something goes wrong, the simplest, quickest and most effective solution is to ask for a refund and then re-order.
I have made many purchases from Ebuyer and this is the only time something has gone wrong. Now that I know how their system works - and how to get redress as quickly as possible - I shall probably use them again.

Absolutely the worst company on the internet. Cheap, yes! But you’ll regret your purchase when the slightest problem occurs and it will. They are almost impossible to communicate with. No telephone support. Web based Enote and return system is contrived to diminish your rights as a consumer. I recommend you do not purchase anything from this company and tell your friends the same. A consumer strike is the only way this company will learn that customer satisfaction is key, and if they don’t learn they’ll fold.

How I wish!
I ordered a Panasonic DC MODEL FZ20 Black on Wednesday 16th. February 05 at a cost of £350.66 inc delivery. Camera was delivered on time Saturday 19th. via CityLink. As soon as I opened the box I could see from the state of the camera box that it had be knocked about. Carefully opened it ?? I certainly was not the first! The instructions were previously opened and used, the SD card was in a tatty bit of polythene. On inspection the of the card I notice score marks. It had been well used. Not it's self a problem, besides, I would never have used a such a small card anyway. I can see that the camera packaging was not as it left the factory but never mind I thought, it's a probability that it is a perfect RETURN. To my surprise it is a SILVER model and looks in perfect shape. No marks. Look for the battery. Put it in. Dead as a DOe DOe. Now we all know these batteries need charging, but there is always something in them. Where is the battery charger? OK it's there. BUT, it's a 2pin American plug, Not even like the Euro 2 pin plug. So absolutely useless to me without a proper English plug.
I pack it all up and get on to the Ebuyer website.
I get an immediately response. Exactly as one would expect from a reputable web site. Bearing in mind this is on a weekend! When would I like it collected? Monday please and it was collected by CityLink. Absolutely as it should be. I know mistakes can happen with a busy company.
I was particularly keen to know if they were going to replace it with the correct model. So, as well as the all the paperwork, copy E notes, in the box, I also sent a letter asking for confirmation that they were going to replace it or not, with the Black model ordered and with a UK Plug. Because now, the model Black or Silver was not showing up on their web site. I need to know please, I, said, in order to order another from another supplier.
This letter was also sent by recorded delivery which was signed for on Tuesday 22nd. February 05. I sent a separate E note as well asking them to confirm my letter questions.
On this Day Tuesday 22nd. I get an Email to say that they had received the camera and were proceeding as per their conditions of the RMA.
OK fine.
WHY AN EARTH CAN A COMPANY GET IT RIGHT UP TO THIS POINT AND THEN COMPLETELY MESS IT UP FOR THE SAKE OF ANSWERING A SIMPLE QUESTION LIKE
"Sorry we are out of stock. We will credit your account in due course". I pointed out in my Recorder Delivery letter, that the credit was not the problem - in due course would be OK. But no they cant be bothered to answer. As a result I do a search Google for Ebuyer problems. Wow 1000's of dissatisfied customers. I just wonder, will ever get my money back?
How I wish!

This company do offer very competitive prices but when things go wrong, they go very wrong.
I purchased a DVD writer from eBuyer which failed within the first 12 months. So I sent it back and they confirmed that it was faulty and sent it back to the manufacturer for repair / replacement. They said this would take 28 working days. 33 working days later I had no response. So I raised an eNote, 7 working days later no response. I contacted the manufacturer directly, they confirmed that the item hadn't arrived and wasn't registered on their system.
To sum up, if things go wrong after the first 28 days of ownership you'll have a hard time getting a replacement.

I've had a dreadful experience with eBuyer not responding to my eNotes (No phone number on their www, but found 0870 467 0753 on the Internet) and hence my goods being returned.
Email to complain to is:

I'm also writing to their CEO:

Warning!!
Avoid this store (in the UK).
They are uncontactable if you have any problems.
My order was apparantly delivered to the wrong address, and I am now unable to get any response from them.
Their phone numbers are not listed.
Is this legal?
