Just a quick review to say that I swear by ebuyer. Super site from a design / usability / price point of view. User reviews are the main way to decide about what to buy. Some problems with late delivery in the past, but customer support is always OK.

Received Seagate FreeAgent 250GB the next day because I decided to go with the next day delivery option which cost £8.50, because I needed it by the following date instead of waiting for 2-5 days, which I did received it on the 16th September.
Anyway I received the item with no problems what so ever, also at the time of buying it Ebuyer was selling it cheaper than other sites, so overall I am satisfied with Ebuyer and would use again.

Ordered an Intel Core 2 processor and a Crucial 2Gb RAM kit. Couldn't find anywhere else that had the Crucial RAM in stock, and a low price on the CPU clinched it. Quick delivery, very easy to order, no issues at all with any part of the process. Would recommend.

Have to say that it's been all pretty good so far!
I've spent about £1000 with Ebuyer so far (actually only two orders) and there isn't anything that I could complain about.
Admittedly, I haven't had to return anything, but I have had occasion to phone their customer services, and they were pretty helpful and efficient.
The customer interface on their website is particularly useful (other retailers - take note!) in making the progress of each order extremely transparent, right through to tracking your goods via the courier.
Has to be said that this aspect of their service is unparalleled among any of the (many) other online retailers I've used.
They have a good range of gear and a decent sized order (like a whole PC in component form) from Ebuyer is likely going to be cheaper than virtually any of the other big companies, in my experience.
Especially with the free carriage.

bought components to put together a new computer, flashed the bios 2 weeks after purchase and killed the motherboard - no problem replacing it, picked up next day and replaced a few days later.

Ebuyer are great when all goes well, if you need to contact them if they've made an error, they're too slow.
On the whole i've had good service from them, prompt delivery and cheap prices.
Not all their stock is UK official, i think they have a few grey imports, just be aware, and enjoy the lower prices.

E-buyer amaze me with the prices they charge, they are very cheap. they are half the price of my local computer shop and cheaper than any computer fair for new retail components. i have built several systems for friends and family using components bought from ebuyer and the service is excellent.
the web site is fast and they have huge stocks of popular items so i know i can always get what i want when i want it! they have good e-mail response but poor telephone support but with stuff this cheap i dont care!
the site tracks every movement of your order and they have several shipping options which suits me as to how much im buying and how rich i am for that month!
out of 6 large orders with them i have only had one problem, itwas with a pentium 4 motherboard that didnt feed enough voltage to the core, i rma'd it and they replied with an RMA code i opted for a refund which they gave promptly so i could go buy another one!
people of the UK gotta love E-BUYER!

I just ordered 3 x laptop rests from Ebuyer. Why 3? Because the price was less than half that of the obvious high street stores. The buying experience was simple and I used PayPal checkout to place the order, which made it even more simple. Now that I am aware of Ebuyer I am sure that I will be using them rather than shopping at the High St robbers. I had no problems ordering my laptop rests and I was informed via email as soon as they had been dispatched with a delivery date too. Ebuyer has some amazingly good prices. Check them out before you buy from anywhere else.

I have not had any major problems with Ebuyer except for City link poking a hole through a package once. Fortunately they item was undamaged.
They don't package things as well as other retailers i've used, and i've been pleasantly surprised that the items have arrived in good condition each time! :-s
Prices are very competetive, and speed of delievery ok. Order tracking is not the greatest, as is often the case with city link. It's fine once the order is half way to you, but the consignmeny number always shows up as non-existent for about 24 hours from when the item is dispatched.
I've not had the misfortune to need to return anything.
As with all stores that compete on price rather than service, there is a small element of risk involved. You just hope you won't need after-sales service.

Like many others I have been well satisfied with this company, both in prices and delivery. But like others, when things go wrong, I've discovered that it can be very frustrating. I recently ordered parts to build a new computer. However they sent the wrong motherboard (an Abit AG8, whereas I ordered an Abit AG8-3rd Eye). I returned it immediately.
I was then told that it would take fifteen working days for a replacement to be sent out. When I queried this I was told that Ebuyer does not actually stock most items - they seem to be a kind of "agent" for the resellers - and it is the resellers who update the Ebuyer pages with the amount of stock that is held, and it is the resellers who insist on making the replacement - and specify the fifteen working days. In practice this amounts to about three calendar weeks, more if there are any bank holidays.
So I waited patiently. After fifteen days no replacement was forthcoming. In fact, on the fifteenth day the item was actually removed from Ebuyer's web site!
At this point I asked for a refund. As I managed to source the motherboard elsewhere at a cheaper price I told Ebuyer to just refund the cost of the motherboard and I would forget the £6.95 that it cost me to send the mobo back. I was pleased that, within a week, Ebuyer refunded not only the cost of the motherboard but also the £6.95 that I had told them to forget!
I have to say that I had no problem in communicating with Ebuyer. All my enotes were answered, most within a few hours and all within 36 hours. And so, I would agree with another poster that, if something goes wrong, the simplest, quickest and most effective solution is to ask for a refund and then re-order.
I have made many purchases from Ebuyer and this is the only time something has gone wrong. Now that I know how their system works - and how to get redress as quickly as possible - I shall probably use them again.

I've always been happy with Ebuyer until recently when I had to return something.
Their returns process is all done on-line - you cannot "talk" directly to anyone, and you cannot add to or modify the RMA process/notes once you have submitted the original RMA request. This process took two weeks which didn't help as I needed the part quickly, but they warned in my case it could take 3 weeks. It took 8 days from when they received the item to when they opened the box and saw that it was (visibly) broken.
You cannot respond to the RMA notes.
You cannot call them directly.
E-notes are the only way of contacting them but: -
They only promise to get back within 4 business days and
You can only have one open E-note at any time.
All in all, their prices are GREAT, this is the only problem I have had, the returns process is straight forward but you have no control over it and it is too slow. If it is one of the "free shipping" items I would recommend asking for a refund instead of a replacement, and getting a new item shipped out as a separate order. The week that this takes for the free shipping is still faster than their returns process. This review was modified by its author, phil_derrick, on
