I ordered yesterday a digital HDD Sony camcorder from BestPriceCameras.com, which had a very good advertised price for the Sony HDR-SR11 High Definition Handycam Camcorder with 60GB Hard Disk.
The price advertised was 699.99. I purchased the additional "bronze package" which brought the total to $789.00. I was contacted today by the dealer, indicating that I needed several additional accessories, such as a battery charger (not an upgrade, but the basic charger) and a few other gadgets such as filters and lenses, which would bring the total up to over one thousand dollars. If I did not buy, I would not be able to use the camera. As I declined the additional expense, they said they were going to cancel my order, which I said it was fine. I just wanted you to know that these guys are not serious business people, and they give buying on the web a bad name.
Thank you,
hmalinv

These guys are complete assholes! After reading a bunch of horrible reviews I called and after being on hold for a good 30 minutes, a man with a thick brookln accent came on the line. I told him that I would like to cancel my order that I had just made and and he says "why the hell do you want to do that?"
Huh? I said
"yeah you heard me! c'mon speak up why the fuck do you want cancel you order"?
Then he hung up the phone. I Called my credit card company to cancel my credit card. Don't trust these thugs! Too bad these guys are still in business making suckers out of consumers.
Thank you to all my scammed predecessors for casting a light on this shady company and advising me on what to do: after my discomfort and suspicion led me to this website, I just cancelled my credit card before the charge was posted, about an hour after THE Confirmation Call. Usual story: my order for a Nikon D40 ended up costing more than double after all the "necessary" added items were pushed on me during that call--shame on me for letting the Mark salesman brush off my feeble protests and request for putting the order on hold for 24 hours while I would do some research... Among other things, he claimed that there were "only 20 minutes left" til the UPS shipment of the day, not to be missed despite my protests to the contrary. By then, he already had my card number and the verification code on the back.
Congratulations to all of you who have filed complaints with the relevant authorities. I count myself lucky but how many more victims is law enforcement going to need before acting on what they know?!
NO THANKS TO BEST PRICE CAMERAS OR EXPRESS CAMERAS! DO NOT ORDER FROM EITHER!
I ordered a Nikon D80 (which was price very low, of coarse). I thought Best Price Cameras was different from the previous order I canceled with ExpressCameras.com the on May 9th, 2007.
I started reading the reviews and forums here which made me sick to the stomach to think someone could steal and have a conscious afterwards. Both companies gave me emails stating that they were "out of stock" of the item and that my credit card was not charged.
Today (5/10/07) I have canceled my Debit Card and requested that my order be canceled. No transactions have been made in my account by either company and I hope to keep it that way.
I would rather be without a debit card for 10 days than have BPCameras steal from my card annually.
THANK YOU Resellerratings.com. I have recently purchased from BHphotovideo.com and am extremely satisfied and with peace in my mind that I will not be stolen from.
NO THANKS TO BEST PRICE CAMERAS OR EXPRESS CAMERAS! DO NOT ORDER FROM EITHER!
Extremely dissatisfied. I tried buying a video camera from them, after placing the order and getting the verification call they told me that the camera comes with no cables or batteries, and they try to sell those to you at a extremely hi price $400 for cable and battery. Terrible custmer service skills. It's all a big scam. Stay AWAY, FAR AWAY from these people.
I was very reluctant to deal with this company because of all the bad press on the internet.
I was going to cancel the order until I spoke to Michael Russo, the manager. He was very professional and answered all my questions and concerns. He faxed me the information I requested and the deal for my pioneer plasma tv went smoothly. If you do decide to buy from this company make sure you ask questions and know what your buying. This will clear up any misunderstandings. I am very happy with the deal I got, the delivery company was excellent and everything I was told was true. My salesman was Victor and he was terrific. I will buy from them in the future.
This is strictly for J & K Cameras through their EBay store.
I read many reviews about all of the bait and switch tactics that were being employed by some of these companies. I had picked out a couple of possible dealers when I found they were all listed on this site as pretty much being frauds. I went to EBay to see if there were any deals to be found on there when I came across a package deal with J&K Cameras. The deal was incredible...Rebel XT Digital SLR, 2 gig memory, 3 lenses, 2 cases and a list of smaller accessories. Their feedback rating was over 100% positive with over 4000 responces. So I placed the order. I immediately got an email asking me to call and confirm and got really scared. I went ahead and called and talked to a very nice sales person. He did try to sell me some other items, but I had already priced them and their price was right in line, so I went ahead and got those. In the end, I had the camera as described and 2 extra rechargable batteries and the base grip extender for about $1300. The big news was that in 4 days the package arrived. Everything was new and unopened and works exactly as it should. I couldn't be any happier with the whole experience even though I went in with much trepidation. So, I strongly recommend J&K Cameras through EBay.
Well, after reading all of the preceeding reviews, I feel as if I've dodged a bullet....or have I?
I responded to an online pricing site that showed a v-e-r-y low price for a Nikon D70s. I quickly found that they 'stripped' the OEM boxes and sell the items piece-meal, so the price did not include any lens, which IS included in the aforementioned KIT. They tried to overload me with accessories at outragious prices, but KNOWING THE VALUE of the individual items, we worked through it. I feel I got a reasonable price for what I agreed to buy, which included an extended warranty which, based on my calcs, I may have paid $30 bucks for.
As for delivery and communication, I didn't receive a tracking number e-mail until I called for it and the item wasn't shipped when promised, but did ship 2 days later. They blamed the delay in intervening holidays, which was a fact (a Jewish holiday bisected the transaction).... once shipped, I receieved the merchandise AS ORDERED, I'M A HAPPY CAMPER!
Yes, if you order nikon from jandk you will get grey market (imported) equipment. Yes, you will get a call to sell you extras, including service contracts. (Not a bad idea for grey market, but expensive) I ordered a nikon D-80 kit thru e-bay, and after the extra sales call, got the kit as described in about 8 days. The communication is horrid, the online info about your order is non-existent, and the feeling of panic after checking this site is palpable- however, the product is just as described in the ad, and works fine. You MUST read carefully, and not assume anything not explicitly stated, but with that in mind they provide what they say they will.
Before I found this website I wanted to order the Nikon D80 package as a coming home gift for my husband in the military. However, they do not have a shipping option to APO's on their website. So I called their sales # to get some help. When I called I definitely got a weird feeling because the guy on the phone sounded rushed and was talking super fast. When I told him how I needed help placing an order because of the APO address, he immediately wanted my CC#. To which I said, "well don't you want to know what camera I want to order first?". Because I thought most companies would tell you if it is in stock before you order it, and how much the shipping would be, and how long it will take to get there before you buy it....? So he finally begrudgingly asked me what I wanted to order, and then graciously waited for me to shut up. Then he asked for my CC# again, and I gave it to him (Bernard). He then told me I needed to buy a battery, here are the prices he quoted me:
2hr battery for $149
4 hr for $179
6 hr for $219
10 hr for $289
When I was surprised that I needed a battery (it didn't come with it?!?!?!) I asked him if I could not place my order so I can have some time to consider what battery might be best. He quickly gave me his ext. 263 and hung up real fast.
I am so glad I found this site, I won't be ordering from them now. I am a bit worried that they have my CC#, and I should had known something was up when the first thing out of his mouth, was "give me your #".
I think I will order it from Amazon, at least they are reputable and if there are any problems with the camera they will not disappear.
Well, I guess my experience isnt all good but really also isnt all bad.
After I ordered, the sales person "Chris" called me to confirm my order. He was VERY nice on the phone, did offer me other products but didnt push it or changed his attitude when I declined. I was very pleased about that.
After I ordered I found out about this site (I had simultaneously ordered from Sonic Camera too) and the reviews really freaked me out. However since the contact so far had been extremely friendly, I decided to wait it out.
To make a long story short.. I had to call several times when the product wasnt delivered. I never had a problem getting through and everyone I talked to was always friendly.
After 3 weeks of waiting and now really getting worried I called again and the customer service rep called the warehouse while I was on hold and then told me that something on the part was broken and they refunded my money. He said they will call back when its back in stock to find out if I was still interested in purchasing it again. I asked why I wasnt notified of this and he responded that they didnt know either until he just called the warehouse.
I was a bit skeptical but 2 days later (this morning) the full refund showed on my account.
So while I wasted a lot of time, I do not have anything negative to say about the customer service and I did get my money back.

I opted for free ground shipping as I had over two weeks to receive my wife's Christmas present. I got the proverbial phone call where Bruce tried to upgrade me both in product and shipping, but I calmly held my ground. The camera came in time, but took a good two weeks. It seems to be just fine. It has the battery included plus the cheap freebees Enterprise throws in. A USA warranty was included, but be sure to fill it out and mail it in to a generic warranty center in New Jersey. That's a USA warranty, isn't it? It was not a Canon warranty.
The price was resonably priced - cheaper than B&H, but not as cheap as some of these outfits selling the camera for one quarter retail. Does "too good to be true" ring in your ears?
Would I purchase from Enterprise again? It would depend on item and price and giving myself plenty of shipping time.
I've purchased many high ticket items on line and have not been stung yet. This site is surely a help.
This shop works as like this:
1.Place order from their web site. Easy and neat.
2.Call customer service to confirm your order.
3.Take expensive battery and/or charger?
Yes:the items will come (maybe I did not take them)
No:you must wait four to six weeks
Cancel: Accepted and very quick "good bye"
4. READ the last six lines of their "company policy". I think these six lines were applied to my order (to say at least).
Good luck
P.S.
I received cancellation confirmation email from this store. Fair enough.

I tried to purchase a UX5 camcorder form these guys, I have had a relatively good experience from them before.
I understand the way the sell only the camcorder, no batteries, cables, media etc. It still works out cheaper to buy the camera from them and the other stuff separately (plus you get exactly what you want).
Well, a week after placing the order, they sent an email saying they won't stock this for another two months. What? It doesn't say anything about that on the website, in fact I checked again, you can still order one. Wouldn't be a problem, except I already ordered all the extra stuff, and I need the camera right away!
So I called them up, so if they could do anything and they laughed. The guy actually laughed! Not even an apology! I asked for a manager, and he said, why, that guy wouldn't do or say anything either!
So I guess I'll order from someone else, pay the difference (which is significant) and double up on all my cables, batteries (which isn't too bad I guess-but the last time I use these guys).
Like the rest of online shoppers, their websites got my attention for the lowest price for Sony DLSR A100 camera that I wanted. Ordered it and never got a confirmation number. Got a phone call a day after asking me if I want to upgrade the included lenses since they said it is made of plastic. I declined the said offer. Same day, I received an email telling me that the camera is a back ordered and waiting period of 6 to 8 weeks. Well as everyone been subject to the same run around, I called them the 19th of October asking about the camera, first put on hold for 15 minutes, then a man answered and put me on hold again for 5 minutes. Spoke to Manny who told me that the camera still not available. Cannot gave me any estimated date. This guy is rude even by New York standards. When I said that I will cancel the order, he become more sarcastic and obnoxious. I wish that a manager was standing by to hear this guy treats potential customer. I am an avid online shopper but this is first time encountered such stupidity talking to a customer rep. Anyone wanting to shop from this store, please take your business somewhere else. I wish I can do more to discourage online shoppers to buy stuff from bestpricecamera.com. I wish YAHOO will take down this site for good. Thank you for reading and let's continue to boycott this store...
