I just ordered the Canon Digital Rebel XT SLR Camera with included 18-55mm lens for $809...almost $200 cheaper than the list price. It should include everything that the US kit includes (NB-2LH Battery Pack, Battery Charger, Power Cord for Battery Charger, USB Interface CAble, Video Cable, NEck Strap, Viewfinder and Body Caps, EOS Digital Solutions CD-ROM, Digital Photo Professional 1.6 CD-ROM, Instruction Manual CD_ROM, User's Guides, and 1 Year Canon U.S.A Limited Warranty.
Salesperson (Michael) called to confirm my order with in the hour, offered a warrenty and asked if I needed anything else. I declined and there was no hard sale, he was very polite. Thanked me for my order and told me it should ship out today.
So far, very pleasant experience and I'll update this when I get the camera and see what's in the box.
*added 6/27/05 morning: The camera was not shipped out on the 24th but I spoke to someone this morning that assured me that it would be shipped out today. We'll see...
*added 6/27/05 3:00 pm: I hadn't received any email confirming shipping, like I was told I would receive so I called back and talked tothe same customer service rep I talked to this morning and inquired if the camera had been shipped. He didn't think so and reckoned it would probably ship out today or tomorrow. :\ I finally got him to tell me it would ship out today...why don't I believe him? I'll keep updating this as it goes...
*added 6/27/05 6:45 pm It shipped! I'll be looking for it on Wednesday I guess, and will update this when I get it.
*added 7/04/05 I got back yesterday from a camping trip, where I took some AMAZING pictures with my new camera! I did end up receiving it on Wednesday, late morning.
All in all, I was pleased with PriceRitePhoto. They had what I wanted at the absolute best price I could find and there was no hard sell. About the only thing they could have improved on is better communication in regards to shipment. I didn't like the "it'll probably go out today" or "it probably didn't go out Friday but will more than likely go out today." Plus they charge $49.95 for FedEx 2 day delivery service for a 5 lb. package...isn't that the overnight fee? Kind of cheesy, IMO, but for the price I got on the camera, I'll take it. I purchased the Panasonic PV-GS150 Camcorder from Price Rite Photo and they did a great job. I requested a last minute delivery and they came through for me. I now will have the camera for my daughters 1st birthday. Thanks again Price Rite for a job well done.

This company is very crooked. I called to order a Sony HDV camcorder. I sidestepped all the offers and when the transaction was about to go through - they hung up on me. I called back started my order again. This time they got my credit card information and then after rejecting more efforts to sell warranty they hung up. I called back again. First they said they couldn't ship to me because I had a billing address that was different than my shipping address. They they said they had cancel the order unless I would pay the insurance. Then when I gave up and tried to cancel, they claimed that the transaction was complete, the rep that I had talked to had left the office (that I talked to 2 minutes before), and threatened to charge my credit card 15%. How can people be so dishonest?...and it's sad they carry that burden around. This is a bait and switch company - that hangs up if you don't take their offers. Steer away from this company. As I was searching for a Canon XL2 - this Web Store popped up on a search engine indicating they are a CANON AUTHORIZED DEALER. Of course I verified this with Canon, who inform me that they ARE NOT an Authorized Dealer. BUYER BEWARE - You Get What You Pay For.

The pricing from this company is outstanding. The process of receiving the camera was protracted because the salesperson neglected to take my credit card information, which I did not learn about until I became concerned with why my purchase had not arrived after a week. (When I first called in, I was told that my credit card information had been rejected. So I was to blame?) I also ordered a premium kit for the Nikon Coolpix 8800. It came with 52mm adapter lenses and filters, but requires 58mm lenses. The sales-staff were unhelpful and unapologetic. I was simply blind-transferred to the customer service department. My first calls to the customer service department involved being put on hold and being treated with ambivalence and near contempt. That is until I was fortunate enough to have my calls taken by Rachel. She was understanding and extremely helpful. She apologized for any inconvenience and was very helpful in remedying the situation. Were it not for her determination and charm I would not have ever considered making another purchase from this firm.

The digital camera that I purchased is high quality and was priced very reasonably. My order arrived in excellent condition in less than one week. I am happy with my experience with pricerite and would recommend them to anyone!

Communication could use improvement. No email to confirm shipping. Unable to tell me shipping cost when I placed the order. Otherwise, excellent value for the money. Nice camera.

All fedex shipments are automatically emailed to recipients by fedex's system. If you did not receive an email with a tracking number, your email address must be only accepting emails from recognized ip addresses. Additionally, you can tack your order online by logging into your account. |

I ordered this camera kit on 5/1 being told that I would receive it 2 day FedEx, I gave the item until 5/6 then I called and was told that it was never sent out. I was promised that it would go out the next day overnighted, shipping free as I purchased the kit, and overnighted for the trouble. They never sent it, I called again on the 8th, was told it never went out, asked for a supervisor (Steve)who antagonized and threatened me. I said I wanted to cancel my order. He said he would cancel it but still charge my card. He finally offered to still overnight my kit as they would be getting an order in on the 11th and I would have it on the 12th. He also said he would throw in an additional memory card which I still have not received. Finally I received my kit on the 13th only to find it missing the promised memory card and a battery that was suppose to be included in the kit. When I called about it I got Rachael on the phone and she said she would send out the missing items. As of the 28th I still have not recieved the items. I called and spoke with Rachael again who was speaking with Steve and they said that they would not be sending me those items and if I continued to push the issue they would charge my credit card $75. for shipping. The memory card was promised to me for all of my aggrevation but the battery was paid for and never received. That is theft in my book coupled with zero customer service.

They shipped item to the wrong address. A week later, still no camera. Awful customer service. Now I am not sure if the camera they shipped is new or used. Don't ever deal with them!

Priceritephoto calls to confirm every order before it ships to confirm shipping information. All of our merchandise comes brand new factory fresh and sealed. If you are indeed a customer call our customer service line at 888-365-4300 option 4 to rectify this matter. |

I ordered an Canon 20D, body only and was told it would ship immediately. A week later, still no camera. When I called, they said that because I had only ordered the body and not one of their package deals for junk I didn't want or need that they would have to special order the camera body from Japan and it might be 6 to 8 weeks before I received it. These people are crooks! Do not do business with them!

Customer was informed that 20d body is on national backorder, so we offered them 20d with 18-55 lens at a cheaper price then advertised. Customer declined and we cancelled his order. These situations can occur, best way to find out product availability is to give merchant, any merchant a call. |

I bought a brand new USA model Canon GL2 package (Caonon GL2 camcorder, two lenses, three filters, tripod, hard case, 5 miniDV tapes, and a cleaning kit) in April of 2005. They were very understanding when I had credit card problems (not quite enough in my checkling account to cover the purchase, as I was using my Visa debit card to pay for the package), although I had to call them about it rather than them aclling me about it. Also, the price was excellent-- US$2,199.00 for the whole package, with US$39.99 for FedEx ground shipping from their wharehouse in Brooklyn, New York. Anyways, after I put more money in my account they run my credit card information through their systems again and everythingwas paid for. They shipped the item that night. Six days I got the package minus the filters, although the invoice with the package listed the filters as being there. So I called them back to ask about the filters. It took about half a day of absolutely immense frustration to get a hold of someone there at Price-Rite Photo; the first guy I talked to just put me back on hold-- I talked to the same guy againa nd asked to speak with his supervisor, who wasn't available then, the guy said. So hung up and called back again, and told the same guy (I think was his name was Mike.) that I would not hang up until I spoke with a supervisor. And guess what?... yep, that;s right, a few moments later a supervisor came on the line... interesting... hmmm... the supervisor told me that my filters were on backorder and that they would ship that night. Later that evening I got the tracking number for the filters via email and received the filters six days later (which is today actually... I'm so excited!).
All in all, I would say that Price-Rite Photo has the best prices for these sorts of camera packages. The accessories (I received vanguard tripod and hard case, and Mercury Optiks lenses and filters.) are not the greatest quality, but they will work quite well for those like me that are just getting into videography and photography and don't want to spend, say, $1,000.00 on some craxy 1000 millimeter lens that should be held under lock and key at all times and cleaned with abby wipes and isopryl alcohol five times a day ;-)!

I ordered canon rebel xt with camera kit 18 - 55 mm in black. Item was in stock. After 2 weeks calling priceritephoto asking for my order status and beeing ensured, that I should call in 2 days to get my tracking #, a rep called, that I can have it at home next day, but in silver...I finaly agreed and I received tha camera as promised

Great company to deal with. The customer service person was really nice. The order got delayed because my credit card company failed to verigy my shipping address and even though it was not the company's fault, they upgraded me to next day air at no charge. When my items arrived all were in great condition, bran new, in the original packaging. I would big time do business again with this company, because not only do they have good pricing, but also very good customer service.
