It makes me sick to admit that I bought from these crooks. I spent $4,599.99 for a d2x body,extended warrentee, charger etc.. Everything looked fine so I thought all was ok. Not. I sent it in to nikon for service only for them to take it and tell me it's stolen. Still trying to get my money back. It's a good thing I live along ways from NJ. or I would probably be in jail for something awfull. Stay far away.

I saw the great prices on the web so I contacted Genius Cameras by phone and told them I was interested in the D200/18-200 kit. They said they had it in stock. They proceeded with the bait and switch and told me that the Nikon 18-200 lens was bad and that their exclusive Sigma 18-200 was much better. And that they had a newer version of that Sigma lens which nobody else in the country had. They said all the included accessories were entry level and that I should upgrade to the pro package. Shipping was to be $170. Total came to about $3K. The salesman was persuasive and courteous so I agreed to the deal and provided my credit card #. After a few hours the promised confirmation email never came so called back. I asked for a detailed itemized list of everything in the package and for more info on the Sigma lens. They said they could not do that. I then contacted Sigma who said there is no such lens as what Genius Camera claimed and that they were not an authorized Sigma dealer (I'd be shocked if they were an authorized Nikon dealer either). Then I stumbled upon the Resellerratings website. Everything everyone says is so true. So I called back to Genius to cancel the order. They told me the package had shipped. After calling back dozens of times over 2 days and pleading I finally got someone to cancel the order. They told me that the package was in Illinois and that they had to tell UPS to bring it back. With Genius Camera everything they say is a lie and everything they do is deceitful. If Genius Cameras were in New York I'm sure Elliot Spitzer would have had them shut down by now.

Was wanting the Nikon D200. Placed the order then called to confirm. The CSR tried to sell me the warranty, said no. Then the CSR tried to sell me a different warranty, said no. CSR tried to sell me a memory card because "this camera takes a special high speed card." I said no. CSR then tried to sell me a battery and charger because this is a camera body only. I said cancel the order...

I should have researched these clowns before I placed an order. I called them 3/15 and asked about the Nikon D50 body only price of $299. The person on the phone confirmed it was brand new with a USA warranty. I told him I would place an order online and he suggested that we do it now on the phone to avoid any 'delays'. He then asked me for my credit card info (kind of odd, but I proceeded). The salesperson then tried to sell me all kinds of accesories at outrageous prices. He said the battery that came with the camera lasted only 20 minutes. I declined everything and asked for my confirmation # and a subtotal-- he gave it to me and then said they would follow-up with an email. I called on 3/16 to ask when I would receive an email confirming my order. The guy on the phone sounded irritated and told me to be patient and that it takes up to 72 hours to process an order. I found this site shortly after and called them to cancel my order. The woman asked why I wanted to cancel and I mentioned this site and the reviews on other sites. She sighed and cancelled the order and then hung up. I followed up with a call to my credit card company and had the card cancelled just in case they try to pull something. PLEASE DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE FOLKS.....THEY ARE CROOKS.....PERIOD.

I ordered from this company, got confirmation and was told to call the company. I called they tried the bait and switch on me. I was laughed at and scorned. This Joe guy called me a liar and started talking like a female. He's a crook. Don't order from them. I tried Express Cameras, asked them if they were affiliated with Genius. They said no. I was lied to. Unfortunately I ordered from Genius, and then cancelled. I've contacted my credit card. STAY AWAY FROM GENIUS AND EXPRESS CAMERAS.

After reading all the bad reviews I figured I knew exactly what I wanted, 1 item the Canon 70-200 f/2.8 L lens, and figured that this was not debatable and would get a good deal. I was told that this is NOT a digital lens, then after being told that it was in stock and could get it in 2 weeks, was then told it will take 2-4 weeks to get it shipped over to their facility and then shipped. This place is a JOKE, the prices are fake, and they will try to bait and switch you on ANY order. Go elsewhere if you are smart.

Joe transferred me to another agent in 'Sales' and this agent proceeded to attempt to argue me down and speak over me in a condescending tone. He said that the order already shipped and that he could not cancel. [Mind you the order was confirmed 1hr prior to this call] THIS IS WHY I'M CANCELLING! Online reviews - which I should have read before ordering from you - are all NEGATIVE and after reading some of those reviews, I decided I did not want to order from this company. Did it ever occur to you that you would build a loyal customer following if you simply operated an honest, customer-centered business? Forget it! I will post this review and hopefully then next potential customer will read it and stay away from this company!

This business is a rip-off specialist. They high pressure sold me an "upgrade" which was of inferior merchandise. They were not supposed to charge shipping, but did to a tune of $207, now I know why since shipping is not refundable. They also charge "at least 5% restocking fee. Customer Service does not answer the phone for returns. AVOID THESE SHYSTERS AT ALL COST!

ABSOULTELY REDICULOUS bogus fraudulent sorry excuse for a business. I was over charged around $1000. I am making it my mission to see that these people are prosecuted. These people are nothing more than a bunch of thugs who try to rip you off. Do not associate with these people.......Genius Cameras and their "sister" web sites are nothing more than a front for an elaborate network of illegal business practices. Everything in these posts are true......you can't begin to know how dirty and sorry these people are. If you look up "scum" in the dictionary you may find a reference to geniuscameras! How can New Jersey allow such activity to go on?

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS OUTFIT. I placed an internet order online for a Digital Camera body Oct 12th, 2005. After several days I received an email to call them to confirm my order. That should have been my first warning. Well, I called and was subjected to some of the most disgusting and rude "upselling" I have ever heard (battery and charger for $300.00?). I finally told the Scheister from NY/NJ(HEAVY accent) that I only wanted the camera body and he finally said it would be shipped out. Today is Dec. 1st, and I cancelled my order because I have still not received the camera (OUT OF STOCK). I am now watching my Credit Card, this seller has been known to charge anyway after the order has been cancelled.

I would like to add my experience with this operation as well. I also tried to purchase a Nikon D70s camera for $499. Got the email to call them and did so. Talked to a guy (NY accent, don't recall the name...) who said that yes, it was a US camera, and that it did not come with a battery or charger. I'm pretty certain that the camera comes with both items (at least the US version...). But, I asked him how much they would be - He said it would be $970 for the camera and batteries! While I was on the phone, I did a quick search, and found that the battery was about $37 and the charger goes for around $50-60. Some deal. When I mentioned this little fact to him, he claimed that those batteries would cause the camera to blow up (yeah, right said I, nikon batteries specified for the D70s would cause it to explode...). He also tried to upsell lens and memory at ridiculous prices. THings just seemed so shady with this guy (like seedy used car dealerships 20 years ago), that I finally just said to forget it. I wanted nothing to do with these shady characters.  
 
I would STRONGLY urge others thinking about dealing with this company to do so with extreme caution.

This is worst shopping experience I had on the net, very unprofessional company they advertised the Nikon D70s for 429 (body only) I purchased it online but they require a call to confirm the order. They start asking do you want a charger. Do you want a battery? And so on. So they try to sell you the free accessories that Nikon include with the body and brought the price to 799 for the camera body with all the free supplied accessories. How can you trust or deal with such a company? Do not go there BE AWARE.

This was a blatent bait and switch scam. The price quaoted on the website was clearly never met to be delivered. They require a phonecall to confirm the order ( for no particular reason)and then said the item was backordered for FOUR MONTHS! But that upgrdes were available immeadiately. When I said I wanted to cancel my order, he said that was another line and the wait was currently at least 40 minutes. It had to be cancelled by phone and after several attemps on several days to get through I finally hung in for over 20 minutes and was able to cancel this bogus order. FIRMS LIKE THIS ARE RUINNG THE INTERNET AS A SHOPPING TOOL.

Very Dissatisfied.. this company is a group of crooks , they report on the site or over the phone of prices for certain items but they end up charging you higher,you will never know until you receive your invoice or your bill, and if you try to call you never get but automated answering messages , I did ordered a Nikon coolpix 2200, they promised a charge of $109 and $5.50 shipping but the invoice came with $120.0 for the camera and $9.0 for shipping , some one by the name of Rayan is playing all kind of games when you talk to him ,he is doing his best to charge you more , he also adviced me to get a memory card for the camera which is 128 MB SD type and he charged $49 for this card which I found out later that this card is only cost you $20 when you bye it from Costco, I wouldn't say any thing abut this company but like what the people above said it's a fraud compny .

Can't get any costumer service and if I did, the moment I mention about canceling I get put on hold. This company send me the accessory but no camera. They said the camera will be there in 3-4 days but it had been almost three weeks already and I haven't got anything yet. I never got a confirmation of what they send me. Yeah I think these guy are crook. Don't ever buy anything from here. I should of check the reviews to avoid the headache.
