I had purchased items from woot on and off for several years, and had been happy up until the moment I got a defective product (Sansa Mp3 player) and needed customer service. They would not even reply to my email. I contacted them originally on 2/25 and they assigned case # W-74385-WEOK. Two subsequent emails were also given case numbers but never replied to.
I will never use Woot again.

They improperly packaged a very expensive order, FedEx mishandled it, and now I'm out a month without needed merchandise and money. They want me to return the items at my own expense, wait for them to arrive and be processed, then wait up to 10 more business days before I get a refund. Entire transaction is below.

Hi guys and gals of woot, I have a question. See my post here:
http://www.woot.com/Forums/ViewPost.aspx?PostID=1984714
This is per woot order number xxxxxxx. Is this normal for this batch of
drives? Were they all sent like that? Was my package adulterated by
FedEx? I've wooted 32 times, and only had this issue one other time, where
the WD 250GB drives of 2006 were shipped in a similar manner.
I am really worried about these drives, and really not looking forward to
testing them. Even if I test them, I worry about the stability of the data
I put on them. The drives were clanging around in the box look for a couple
thousand miles.
What do you think I should do? Invest the time in testing the drives? Ask
to RMA them untested? I'm in a pickle... but I know you guys will take care
of it.
Thanks,
-RogerX

Please allow a few days for the order to be shipped, as this process usually

We no longer have any of those drives, and thus your replacement order wasn't filled. You can, however return them for a refund.
Sorry to hear that you are needing to return your item. Your RMA number is xxxxx. Please make sure the RMA number is on the shipping label or written on the box. Please be advised, per terms of our website, that you will be responsible for the costs associated with return shipping. I would suggest using a shipping service that uses a tracking number. We are currently out of that item, so we will be issuing a refund back to you once we receive the product. Turnaround time for refunds are 7-10 business days from the receipt of the defective product.
Please ship to:

Carrollton, TX 75007
Thanks for Wooting!

So ok, now the story has gone from "we're sending you replacement
drives" 12 days ago, with no further communication, to "we don't have
any, ship the drives that 1) woot didn't package well and 2) FedEx
clearly abused back... at your own expense?"
Yeah, not cool. Not cool, folks.
I'm shipping the drives back, and if I don't hear from you promptly
about a refund, I guess I'll have to contest the charges with my
credit card company.
Thanks so very much for a month of headaches and inconvenience. It
makes my 31 prior happy woots seem kind of hollow.

I have purchased a few things from woot over the past few months, and fortunately haven't had any of the problems other people have. Their shirts do take a long time to ship via smartpost, but woot makes this very well known, and gives you the option to pay for faster shipping.

I have purchased from Woot one time previously and not had any difficulty with it. On this occasion the product was sent via smart post and was lost in transit.
Fortunately unlike many others who have unsuccessfully contacted woot and received refunds or resent items I was successful. I have included my emails and discussions with a Woot.com representative.

This used to be a respectable establishment. I've received used items that were supposed to be new (a watch) and a "refurbished" item that was defective. In each case, woot fails to answer email requests for help. BEWARE.

in the past was pretty happy with their products, but my last product (a refurb creative zen media player) came in defective. First they said they will exchange it, then they said it was already shipped. Then, after I didnt get anythig for 2 weeks and I emailed them, I got a reply stating that they are out of this product and I have to pay for shipping it back to get refunded.
noone there has a clue about whats going on.
WHAT KIND OF SERVICE IS THAT?
NEVER WILL SHOP WITH ThEM AGAIN

I purchased a refurb Netgear USB network adapter from Woot. They shipped me a refurb PCMCIA network adapter instead.
I emailed them four separate times over the next fifteen days and never received a single response. My only alternative was disputing the charge. Only when I was about to file the dispute did I happen to notice that they refunded the purchase to my card without any notice, explanation, or courtesy of a response.
I'm puzzled as to why someone couldn't take a second of their time to let me know or address the issue. Poor customer service certainly.
This was my 6th order from them.
Update: Well over a month later and Woot still never bothered to contact me in any way. That will be my final order from them. They at least would have the courtesy of responding to their customers in the past. Now they obviously don't give a damn. If something goes wrong, you're on your own. They are too busy to respond to customers.

Woot! is great store to buy from. Great deals for low prices. I also have had a product changed & they added extras to make up for that.
Shipping is annoying sometimes, since some are thru Smartpost, which is the most annoying way to ship with. They do take sometimes a good while to ship, but they do state it will take up to a bus. week to process orders.
All of my orders to date have been received within 15 business days, with some as short as 3 days. I have had some products that look to have been damaged, but Fedex shows on thier site to have repacked the box without notifing me by email, so I do not blame Woot! for that problem. Also, the Texas sortation location has had pilfering & malicious damage claims filed against them in the last year.
Overall, Woot! is the best site for 1 day deals. This review was modified by its author, chalion, on

Wonderful retailer! The absolute best I have ever used. I ordered a product, they ran out and offered to give me a different color with about $75 in extras! Quick shipment, and they treat you how they would like to be treated. Can't say enough.

Ordered a shirt, used free shipping. Shipping is super slow but it's free and they admit that their free shipping will be the slowest thing you've ever seen so got what I expected. Happy overall.

Woot is a great place to purchase items, as long as you want that one item they are selling that day heh. So far I have made about 5 or 6 different purchases through Woot and have been satisfied every time. The whole Woot experience is a treat as well because you will never see advertising by any other retailer that will be as quirky and funny as that done by Woot, complete with a little song or poem about each item. Too funny. I will continue to Woot as good deals continue to appear. Thanks Woot!

My first order from Woot, and it went well! Sort of annoying to have to set up yet another login/password on a site I'm paying with Paypal, but whatever. The products were exactly as described, and didn't require much in the way of packing, which is just how much they got. Cheap stuff at a good price, that's pretty much what I came for. My order shipped the day after I ordered it, and took 6 days to arrive.

I have purchased numerous items from woot.com and sellout.woot.com and have never had a problem with anything I have received. The products are always exactly as advertised and some of the deals are incredible. A 5.1 surround system shipped to my door for under $40? Amazing. Three replacement TiVo remote controls for 99 cents each? Wow.
I have recommended the website to a number of friends and family, and everyone has been very satisfied. In fact, many people are hooked and visit woot each day to see what the deal of the day is.
