Even when there are no mistakes, woot is terribly slow in shipping out merchandise. I have ordered 3 items and the quickest I ever received a purchase was 16 days. That is unacceptable. Recently they provided Fedex with the wrong zip code twice (two different wrong zip codes!!!). Now, 3 weeks later my purchase is in Texas and I'm in Alabama. Fedex provided me with the documentation proving that woot was at fault. Guess what, woot says "we didn't do it". So now I have to hope that it actually gets returned to woot at which point, sometime in 2009, they will send it to me. They refuse to cancel and refund.  
Do not do business with these con-artists. The customer service is rude, incompetent, and ineffective.

UPDATE: I started a RMA process with WOOT, and they have yet to refund my account. I sent the item back (to my expense), and either they are not accepting the package or USPS tracking system is incorrect. From my experience dealing with WOOT up to now, I suspect that there is something not quite right with their processes. And their customer service is VERY poor! I am out approximately $80, and have absolutely nothing to show for it. I will NEVER order from them again. I will recommend everyone else to stay away from WOOT, unless they like drama and hassles.  
 
I ordered an item from Woot. They state that my order would ship within 5 days. After waiting 10 days and no shipping confirmation, I emailed Woot asking them to just credit my account and not ship the item. I would just purchase the item elsewhere if they could not ship it. They sent me an email a few hours later basically stating that they just shipped my item. So...what...you have to remind them that you placed an order and are waiting for it to arrive before they ship it to you? First thing...I asked for them to credit the money and not ship. Which they did not honor. And, they didn't even attempt an explanation or apology. Not very professional. And a little sneaky, if you ask me.

I have not had a problem with woot, but I did receive an empty box instead of a box with an mp3 player in it. The box had been re-taped during shipping. I sent an email to woot about the problem and they sent me another mp3 player. Although I never did get the tracking number for it as they had promised, I did find the new box with an mp3 player in it at my back door a few days later.  
 
Everyone complains about their shipping and I agree fully. I hate woot's shipping method (smartpost). It sucks as stated on their site. It also took 6 days for them to send out one of my orders and then over a week for me to actually receive it. But, I can't say their customer service was bad. I had prompt replies on the three occasions that I have sent emails.  
 
Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchases from woot and currently awaiting another purchase from their recent woot-off.

Ordered a Dyson vacuum. The Vacuum NEVER shipped but they charged my credit card. They ADMIT they never shipped the item and REFUSED to refund the charge!! Finally called my bank and disputed the amount.  
 
You may have had good experience with them, but when it goes bad, watch out! I wouldn't bother with woot anymore.

I bought a new Plantronics 222 Bluetooth Headset from this site, they send used one. It has lot of dust and dents on the piece, I sent them an email about the, then replayed back you have to all the shipping charges, out of stock.  
 
I think this is my last purchase from them.  
update :  
they reimbursed my money and their manager called me about the issue and ask me not retunr used item.

Good shipping, Good canceling, Unsure of return process tho.

I ordered a shirt from shirt woot. Twelve days in transit from Texas to North Carolina. The package went to two different NC cities twice each, twice it was within ten minutes of my house only be shipped back across the state again. Unbelievable.

I have been a "Wooter" since sometime in 2005, and have placed 15 or 20 orders with them in this period of time, actually landing a "Bag of Crap" (special blind merchandise) at $1.00 plus $5.00 shipping. Since they get thousands of orders in a matter of seconds, no server can handle the crush. I have seen 3,000 items sell out in a matter of a couple of minutes. The lucky ones get a real bargain, and the others complain that their servers are slow! Woot has a great concept of selling just one item per day, and for the most part a great value. I have not had a bad experience with any purchase from Woot.

Woot was a lot better back in the days. But occasionally, there are some good deals. If the item fits your need, then it is a very good deal. If not, then it's not worth it to buy it.  
 
Shipping is a bit slow...  
 
*EDIT* In a more recent order, I waited a week and the item has not shipped. I sent an email to service@woot.com asking them to cancel my order. It was cancelled promptly.

Good company with only $5 shipping. These guys only sell one item per day. Many times it's refurbished. But almost always a good deal. Quick shipping and haven't had any issues with either of my orders.

I like Woot, and have bought from Woot several times. But I am from from being in love with Woot for a couple of reasons. Even though Woot offers some seriously great deals from time to time, if you order from Woot, be prepared to wait a seeming eternity to get your item. They take a seriously long time to ship your item, and they use the world's worst shipping service, SmartPost. It is awful. The only other downer about Woot is their inability to have servers that can handle the crush of people during the so-called Woot-Off. Slow reload times, multiple errors, and an inability to order don't speak well about Woot reinvesting in their company to make improvements. In the end, if you can wait a couple weeks to get something you ordered from Woot, and their prices sometimes make it worth it, I say go for it. But if you expect a company to communicate with you and to ship items quickly, Woot is not for you.

Ive had 5 successful purchases from woot (as of 7-21-08)(all new items, not refurb) and have never had a problem receiving what ive ordered. They do ship smartpost so as long as you do not need it tomorrow, its sufficient. I am a long time wooter and will continue to buy from them. I would recommend them to friends for their wide variety of day to day deals.

Noting some of the negative reviews -- I've ordered from w00t seven times and each time, I've been quite pleased with the product received and the price I paid. My most recent order was a Sansa mp3 player (e250) which came for $35 shipped. Even though the item is refurbished, I still consider it to be quite the bargain since the lowest price I've seen for this online is $69. Many of the items I've purchased have been brand-new, however.  
 
I've found the orders to ship fairly quickly (not the speediest but definitely not the slowest). The standard $5 shipping is quite a bargain for most items, particularly for large big-ticket items. Those who complain about the excessive shipping for low-cost items should consider that.  
 
Overall I think w00t is a great site, a lot of fun, and generally offers excellent bargains.

I have ordered many things from them. When something is refurbished, Woot didn't refurbish it, the company that made it did. So use your own judgement on how good that individual company is. I have normally received my items in under a week overall, and that is not too bad. Even though the selection is well not the best, haha, their prices are almost always unbeatable by 20% or more depending on the item. Occasionally with lots of hard digging you can find a comparable one, but that is few and far between. They tell you the pros and cons of the item and don't mislead you. They do what they do well and I will stick with them and have no problem mentioning the odd site to friends.

I buy products from Woot all the time and haven't had a negative experience yet. All my items are usually shipped within a reasonable amount of time (yes, sometimes they do take the 5 days, like my last order of mp3 players), but you should realize that when you order items through them. They have excellent prices, and will continue to purchase from them in the future.
