I purchased a phone on Thursday night and received it on Monday morning! I was shocked that it arrived so quickly. Plemix provided a great price, it's one of the lowest I've been able to find online, and it comes with a 1gb memory card too. They provided me with excellent customer service and answered ALL the questions I had very quickly.  
 
*UPDATE*  
I went through an exchange process with Plemix when I decided I wanted my phone in another color. Although my questions USUALLY received answers quickly, I found that I received mixed answers about their return and exchange fees. I was then told that I would have the phone shipped out to me on Tuesday and would receive a tracking number for it. Wednesday morning I still had not received a tracking number so I emailed plemix again, and they told me that the phone was out of stock. I was kind of frustrated that they told me it was going to be shipped out and the RMA process was complete, then the next day it's suddenly out of stock. So he told me the phone MIGHT be in stock by Monday, but I did not want to wait another week to get my phone. I asked them for a full refund, and received it, so I guess I can't really complain.

I was getting a Nokia 7900 Prism form plemix, the phone is much cheaper than here from the shop. And the most important thing is the phone supports chinese! I was really impressed! Other than that, the customer service representatives were helpful, and the shippment was promptly dispatched.  
I am looking for the Softbank 911T in plemix, can anyone post a review of the phone? Wondering if it will work properly.  

Horrible attempted shopping experience. The order page where you enter the credit card and the billing info is not secure (my browser didn't have the lock symbol). But I went ahead and placed my order anyway. Several hours later I get an email from plemix, addressed to me "Dear Customer", not signed, with no reference to my order or order number requesting me to email or fax them "1) A copy of a recent credit card statement, and 2) A copy of the credit card & a photo ID. Which would have to be either a passport, drivers license or a citizenship card.". This is the first time ever that I'm asked to provide this info to an online seller! Why would anyone need this information for a legitimate reason?! Looks like an attempted ID theft! My shipping and billing addresses were the same. My shipping/billing address is in the US... Go figure.... I'm calling my credit card to report a possible fraud.  
If you're attracted by their good prices, think twice before placing an order. I'd stay away.

Although the product does fit the description provided, the vendor conveniently left out the fact that the cell phone is the European version. Because of this difference I've had many problems with data messages, and some functions may never fully work on this model. As this is the only phone I have, I don't have the time to argue with the vendor and possibly undergo a lengthy exchange process. Though, I felt the difference in the advertised product and the received product should be noted here.  
 
Though, in the vendor's defense, I must also say that I was impressed with the customer service and efficient ordering process. The order arrived within the specified time frame and questions were answered promptly via the vendor's "Live Chat" customer service.

Ordered my phone on a monday morning. No confirmation/tracking number after a day, inquired about it on tuesday, told me they didn't have the color i wanted and offered me a different color. I accepted and they told me they'd send me the confirmation/tracking number by the end of the day. Thursday morning, still no confirmation, inquired about it again, told me they were fully out of stock and offered refund w/free shipping next order. The thing that pissed me off was the fact that I had to inquire about my order each time to question why i hadn't received any emails containing my confirmation/tracking number. I might just be unlucky

I agree with Twincyl's review below. If you know exactly what you're getting into, Plemix is a great place to buy from.  
 
I was interested in buying a Samsung U600, however Samsung doesn't sell them in America. This means I have to buy it from a grey market importer such as Plemix.  
 
As Twincyl mentioned, there are a couple of things you should note about grey market goods. Since you are buying outside of their intended market, there is no warranty available through the manufacturer (this is mentioned on their site). Plemix does offer a 7 day return/exchange policy though and you can buy an extended warranty through Plemix. Also most of the phones are going to be intended for Asian or European markets so they might have other languages or foreign keypads (but they all still have English available and English lettering on the keypads too.) Plemix will ship the phones directly from Hong Kong.  
 
I wasn't sure at first if I wanted to buy from them because I didn't know if they had a good reputation, but after reading reviews and the experiences of other people in various forums, I decided to go with Plemix. This was also because they were one of the only sites that had the color I wanted at a good price.  
 
I ordered the phone on a late Monday night and paid via Paypal. The ordering process was trouble free. However, they don't send a confirmation e-mail that other companies do. The shipping cost $30 with not other cheaper choice. However, they ship via 2 day UPS Express shipping from Hong Kong to Indiana, so it's not exactly overpriced.  
 
On Wednesday of that week, I got an e-mail with a tracking number and I got the phone delivered with signature confirmation the next morning (Thurs).  
 
The phone's box came wrapped with many layers of bubble wrap to prevent damage and it was still sealed. The phone was clearly brand new and everything came in perfect condition. One thing to note, I did get a phone with an American style keypad, no Asian characters at all. I also got an original all English manual and a Samsung travel adapter (one that takes both 100-240v power) with American style prongs. The phone however, was clearly meant for the Singapore/Malaysian market. That's not a big deal though since the default language is English.  
 
Overall I am very satisfied with Plemix and would definitely order another phone from them if I can't buy it in the states. You should have no problems with them as long as you know what to expect.

I’ve ordered two GSM cell phones from Plemix. My first order was in August 2006, and the second was last month, April 2007. I’ve had experience with their customer support/return process as well, and for me it went smoothly (more info below).  
 
Plemix is, in my experience, a good store. However, when you do business with them you must be aware that they are a grey-market importer (at least of most of their cell phones), and so you need to expect a few things. Several of the complaints I’ve read on this site seem to be due to the confusion that this causes.  
 
1) If you are in the USA, the packing slip will list the item value as $100 (regardless of what you paid), my guess is to avoid customs fees. All of the phones I’ve ordered were shipped from Hong Kong via airmail, arriving to California within 2-3 business days.  
 
2) The warranty is only 7 days. If something goes wrong after that, you’re probably out of luck. Your phone may have a warranty with its manufacturer, but usually you must claim the warranty from inside the country of origin (it can be hard to even tell which country that is) so unless you’re traveling there it probably won’t work out. As far as I can tell, the other grey-market phone importers all have similarly lacking warranties.  
 
3) You should email them to determine which geographic version(s) of phone you want they have in stock. For example, of a single phone they might have a Chinese version, an Indian version, and a Philippines version, each with different language options in the software, maybe extra markings on the keypad, and different accessories in the box. Plemix is pretty communicative via email, and if you find they have the version you want just specify it in the order notes when you place the order.  
 
So my specific experience. My first order was a Samsung X820, but shortly after it arrived I noticed hairline cracks in the plastic body, a manufacturing defect I assume. After a few emails to support and some quick pictures of the phone taken with my digital camera, they gave me an RMA. I shipped the phone to the RMA address (Seattle, WA) and in a few days received a full refund. Went back to the website and re-ordered the phone, and this time had no problems.  
 
Second order was a Nokia 6300. Before placing the order I emailed them to see if they had this phone with a standard keypad (no extra Chinese characters on it, etc). They did, and after specifying this preference in my order notes (within the PayPal form since I used that method of payment) I received this specific phone version without trouble.  
 
Bottom line: Plemix’s prices are good, fast shipping, and they communicate well via email, so as long as you know what you want and what to expect from an importer like them, you won’t be disappointed.

A Motorola Z3 RIZR was ordered from this reseller and delivered in 3 days as I had requested. The phone came in the original box with literature in English and works great! I would highly recommend this reseller for unlocked phones.

Bought a Nokia N91 from plemix.com. 2 months later the phone broke. Tried calling Nokia USA warranty, they say the phone I bought is made for the Phillipines market (by the way the phone was made and drop shipped from china), and they cannot repair in the US. When I tried to call the Phillipinnes Nokia, they tell me I have to bring it in and cannot send.  
 
When I tried contacting the people at plemix their reply was... and I quote their email

7 day warranty!!!!!!! on a $600 phone? The box says one year! I've since sent 4 emails and i get the same canned reply.  
 
I am not sure if this is legal, but I know its definately not ethical. They should at least tell you ahead of time that there is no warranty. These people are based in Washington state and sell to the US market.  

Do not buy from this merchant. They are cheap but their products come with no warranty. I purchased a $600 video camera that stopped working after about 45 days. The manufacturer would not support the product / warranty because it was not purchased from an authorized reseller. Plemix offered no relief - in fact told me to claim the warranty in Japan.  
 
Would never recommend, will never purchase from again - I'm out over $600.

Very satisfied. I was worried at first because of the address info but worked out well. Ordered a VPC-C6 Sanyo camcorder on Friday morning and it was at my door Monday morning. Shipped from Hong Kong. Box was opened but everything was in order and worked well. Can't find warranty info yet.

Purchased a hard to find cell phone from them and had great results. Shipping was a bit pricey, but well worth the cost. I placed the order on Friday and received it on Monday. Great product and great service.

i ordered two items from this company: a camcorder and a phone and used the expensive 1-2 days delivery.  
I just got the package (5 days), and it only contains the camcorder: no phone. they never mentioned two separate shippings and I only got tracking # for 1 (and there are no phone #s to call, only e-mail).  
furthermore, the camcorder box had the seal broken. I still have to test it to see if it works and if everything with it is ok (and edit this post accordingly).  
I'll revise my judgement if and when they explain me what happened and fix the problem with the phone (i.e. they send it to me), but meanwhile I would reccomend NOT to do business with this company
