I, along with what may be a couple thousand or more other consumers have been scammed by this company with regard to their rebate program. They promise rebates, but then make up an excuse not to honor them.
The Office of the Attorney General, Washington D.C. (the headquarters of Inphonic, Inc., the parent company of A1 Wireless) is suing the company in September regarding this fraud.
Anyone who has been scammed by this company should contact the Washington D.C. Attorney General's office as soon as possible in order to be included in this lawsuit (the lawsuit is not limited to people living in the D.C. area).

a1wireless seems to have many people of the same opinion--they do not honor their rebates. so if you think you are getting a phone at a discounted rate, think again.

Gave me used phones, then broken phones. never paid up rebates. Horrible company, kept lying about how the rebates were late, even though I have mailed out hundreds of rebates on time. I hope BB shut them down. Btw, cs is rude.

BEWARE OF A1 - RUN RUN RUN!!!
Customer service is rude. They did not process my order as promised and I missed a deadline for a rebate. I ordered on 1/31/05 and they promised to activate the phone that evening. They did it the next day and T-Mobile will not give me my $200 rebate now. A1 made the error and I'm out $200. They won't even consider working with me so I'm going to do all I can to make sure they pay for this...
These phones are for my use and my wife's use on behalf of a charity.. Now WE pay to help a group out. that is the same as stealing from the charity in my opinion... BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!!

A-1 Wireless is the best in manipulating quasi-legal corporate fraud that I have every encountered. Call them and they guarrantee the phone will be there the next day. Then they email and need more information which delays the delivery for another day. Then they email a request to copy your drivers license and social card and either email to them or fax it to Cingular. What.... are you kidding me IDENTITY THEFT. So I sent faxes to A-1 and to their corporate headquarters and canceled the transaction. Amazingly, they suddenly approved the deal and were going to ship to arrive next day. There rendition of next day became six days. I refused shipment. I checked my credit card company and they had increased the charged ammount by $16.00 more than their own verification of my total charges displayed om the web site.
I have sent compliants and documentation to Attorney Generals of New York and the state I live in.

Cell phone user: I made a cell phone purchase from this company. They falsely advertise that I would get my phone for free, when in fact, I practically paid the full price for this phone! I ordered a deluxe carrying case that I never received, and when I called to ask about it, they brushed me off, with, "your 14 day trial period is over", although it has nothing to do with the fact that I paid for this item! Trial period or not, we are supposed to get what we pay for! When I asked for a refund, they said that they could not help me because everybody wants to go home!!! But to call back the next day around the same time! BUYERS BEWARE of their fraudulent practices! They do not tell you that it takes 4-6 months before you can file for your rebate, and then they make it extra complicating by making you include all kinds of ridiculous little things, like the "original" bar code, a copy of your phone bill, invoice, etc!!! When they don't want to deal with you, they act like they don't understand English! It is run by Middle Eastern Indians, Pakistanis, or whatever. They are making those people look bad!!! All I know is that they will squeeze every penny out of you!!! I can't even get my deluxe carrying case, or at least my refund for 9.99!!! That's how money hungry this company is! I will NEVER order from them again!!! I would not recommend this company to anybody!!!! If you try to return their phones, they charge $50.00 if you didn't open the phone! And on top of that, they make you pay to ship it back to them!!! Research this company good!! I wish I did!!! They should be BLACKLISTED!!! I have filed a complaint with BBB of Long Island, NY (that's where they are located) I urge those of you who have had similiar experiences to go online and file a complaint on this company! They need to be shut down! They are ripping off the honest American hard working people!!!

A-1 Wireless sent the wrong car chargers, and refused to replace them. Also, beware, their rebates are so complex that it's obvious they don't want you to qualify. I triple checked that I met all rebate requirements, but after 6 months have still not received my rebate. To make it worse, their customer service department will not reply regarding the rebate.

THE IS THE WORST COMPANY I'VE EVER DEALT WITH!! I purchased their plan on May 18, 2004, completed their rebate forms on time, and I have waited patiently for almost one year for my rebate. But it's still not here. When I called them, they told me that my rebates were invalid because I mailed my forms after the first 90 days since my registration. But the forms actually states that the deadline is after 120 days. I've searched around the web for reviews on this company, I see many negative feedbacks. If you have trouble with them as well, please fill out a complaint here: http://bbbtest.e-asp.net/WirelessComplaint.aspx. We need to stand together against their FRAUD!

UPDATE: They would NOT send me my rebate. I have complained to the BBB, Dept. of Agriculture & Consumer Affairs, Attorney General's Office, & The Consumer Protection Board. They need to be STOPPED !!!! Do Not Do Business with This Company!!! 2/15/05 After filing all these complaints I just received my rebate!! Everyone here who has been ripped off should contact the Attorney General's office in Fla. and N.Y. Hopefully they will put a stop to this scam. Anyway it is a way to get your rebates!!! Good Luck! PS. You can file all complaints on line.

I purchased a Motorolla V300 and was told I would get three $50 rebates after a specified amount of time. The first rebate came from T-mobile without any problems. A1 Wireless required I send in a copy of the purchase invoice along with my second phone bill and a rebate form, then my 3rd phone bill and rebate form.The only thing is, they never followed thru on the rebates. When i called their customer service, I was put on hold for 25 minutes, then put on hold again for a supervisor who informed me that "the compute"r says i only sent the rebate forms in without the phone bills".
I told the supervisor that I absolutely sent the required forms in, only to be told that I didn't. After much ado, I was offered $50 instead of the $100 owed to me. I refused the offer as I followed their directions and the company did not follow thru on their promise of a rebate. A1 wireless is a scam as far as I'm concerned. I asked to speak to a higher up, and was told the person I was speaking to, was a higher up of the office. I was told that there is no address to write the Company President and that I would have to email the COO. I plan to go to the better business bureau, newspapers and anyone else.

If you are planning to purchase a cell phone with plan, a smartphone with plan and happen upon this company and are impressed by they're low prices, do yourself a favor: take the money you would spend on whatever it is they have to offer that you want and flush it down the toilet. You will never, ever see any kind of refund from this company.
I had the misfortune of getting sucked into ordering a smartphone w/plan from this company. I later found out that the phone has been receiving terrible reviews and decided to cancel well before the order shipped. That was over 2 weeks ago and every time I call this company's customer service they inveriably tell me " your money will be refunded and you will see in 2 to 3 business days."
They tell me this everytime I call them...about every 2 to 3 business days and I've called them more than 5 times.
Don't let the Better Business Bureau affiliation fool you. This site has no interest in consumer satisfaction.
Be aware.

This A1 wireless store is a rip-off store. I included my second bill instead of my third bill in my rebate and they refused to pay $150 rebate. There is no information what so ever about it until after 4 months of waiting. I don't think this is right. I will never ever buy anything from this store again.

This is the WORST company that I have EVER done business with.
The price that was advertised on their website was not what they charged me on my credit card. They would not even respond to my requests to have the price adjusted. Having no choice but to return the merchandise, I was charged $100 in restock/non-returnable fees. They later admitted that there was a glitch w/ their website that gave incorrect price, but still refused refund back my entire purchase.

The perfect 'scammers' of business world. Why isnt the CEO of a1wireless in jail yet? I consider myself unlucky to buy something from these people because I didn't check the store reviews prior to buying my phone from them. They send me 2 invoices along with my phone. One has someone elses name on it. Costumer service? Oh forget it. There isnt one. Tried calling them..was on hold for 15 mins then I get an automated response from a lady who talks half french half english. Its been over 20 days since I ordered the phone. They promise you free accessories, which I never received and thats what I am mad about and I have more hatred toward these people after reading so many bad reviews. Oh yes I have a rebate on this phone too. I am wondering if its even worth sending the rebate forms because there are here to steal peoples hard earned money. How do these people manage to make money. Most of the mobile phone wesbites are interlinked. I really wish someone could put an end to A1WIRELESS.COM. Oh yes they have a cute little website where they send us if we have any questions. Don't even bother to write to them. You will never ever get a reply..why? I HIGHLY recommend AGAINST using this company for any of your cellular needs. I have attempted to call customer service a total of EIGHTEEN times. During times when I could hang in there, my average wait time was 16 minutes. They did not answer my questions satisfactorily - they cannot find my invoice, file, or order number! Save your money and your time. Don't bother purchasing from this company.
